Default Getting an Arcade feel on a budget price

I love playing Ikaruga, Chaos Field, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Metal slug Anthology on Gamecube/wii. However I hate using the controller for these types of games. I use a weird setup that works great for me, especially since I have a limited budget. I was able to get my hands on a Tekken 5 bundle, they are 29.99 now which is a steal for the Hori stick alone. Second, there are PS2 to Gamecube converters on ebay that can be bought for less than $10 with shipping included. Although the buttons take a while to learn, it does a better job of re-creating the Arcade feel of these games.

Just thought I would share this with everyone.

Where's the Tekken 5 bundle at that price? I'd love to get some more sticks for my PS2 for "shmup night"

I got mine at Gamestop. I figured that Hori sticks alone are worth more than that, so i bought it.

Oh, and Lords of Thunder? I don't even need to play that, I can be happy with the grinding metal soundtrack. The awesome gameplay is a bonus too.

The Tekken 5 sticks truly are fantastic. They're very comparable to the $79 Hori Real Arcade Pro sticks, with slightly lower quality parts. It truly feels like a real Japanese arcade stick though.

I picked up 2 at Gamestop, $29 each. It comes with the stick, Tekken 5, and the Tekken 10 Year Anniversary DVD case. You should be able to find them all over at Gamestop or EB. Gamecrazy has them too, but unfortunately they are $69

Default I should have done this earlier.

Here is a picture of the setup I use. I don't know why I didn't do this earlier.

Dude, that Hori stick will hold you for awhile; what you need to focus on now is a bigger television! I just wouldn't feel right when the joystick is bigger than the game screen.

I didn't like the Tekken guys all over that joystick (I don't like Tekken very much) so I slapped some of that classy black marble contact paper on the top plate.

And while the subject came up, Lords of Thunder is one of the best damn video games ever made. Of all time. Ever.

Yeah, you are right, but everytime I get $$, I'm like "ooh ebay!" and blow it.

Yeah, as soon as you see that one cool item, "I can get a TV any time". I've been there...

Trust me, you won't damage that TV in those pictures by TATEing it. I have a much larger set I TATE all the time with no ill effects.
