This is just a heads up. There are at least two different revisions of the standard, wired Gamecube controller. These two revision use at least slightly different joysticks. I was trying to take the joystick from a newer, broken controller and put it an older controller with a bad joystick. It still may be possible, but not all of the holes in the joystick line up correctly. All the funtional pins seem to be in the same place, but the older revision actually has extra pins soldered in place for mechanical support. The newer revision used screws for this purpose.
