The DP guide says the PAL version is easy to find and not worth anything so I would pass on it unless you want the game just to play.
Looking to buy any Criterion movies that I don't already have.

Small correction, the PAL version is easier to find Which is true, but its not exactly easy to find, the PAL version is uncommon for sure. The price on Ebay can variate quite a bit. I've heard from $70 to $140. The last i saw went for like $90.

I don't think the NTSC version was "recalled" either. It was basically only for sale at Woolworth's in the USA, and it was very tough to find after about 8 months on the market in 1987.

I would suggest saving your money and putting it towards the NTSC version of Stadium Events.

Shizzle is right. It depends on what you want to do with it.

If you just want to have a copy of Stadium Events, then this might be okay for you.

If you just want to play this game in general, then you can find a copy of World Class Track Meet for a cheap price in many places. Same game, different name!

Difference between the two is legal information at the title screen, and the cart label.

A PAL version works 100% on any top loading NES style system. The only reason to collect the NTSC one (which does not show up often these days) is for a complete NTSC licensed collection, but if you want to play the game, buy the PAL one and use a TOP loader.

The game wasn't recalled. If I'm right, the licence was recalled from Bandai that had to stop manufacturing the carts.

Nintendo manufactured all licensed carts until very late in the game.
