Default Original Gravis Gamepad with USB?

Not sure where to put this as I see the Computer Gaming forum is no longer the Forum Du Jour. Feel free to move this to another folder if it is more appropriate.

I'm looking for the original Gravis Gamepad, the SNES-like white one, with a USB (not Gameport) connector. I need it for its small size, rather than the PS1-like Gravis Gamepad Pro.

Does it exist? eBay and my best attempts at a Google search have turned up nothing so far.

I have not ever seen a USB version of that pad, and I am actively seeking the serial version right now (they pop up on eBay occcasionally). I believe the model was discontinued before USB became standard. However.. I have seen serial-to-USB adapters start popping up on eBay as well lately (they're usually touted for use with older flight/joysticks.. so you could go that route.. if it works.

I've wanted that pad for quite some time now to use with some emulators. The only drawback is that particular one had no shoulder buttons (like a SNES pad did) so it might come up short in that department. I saw a boxed one with the tiny "joystick" attachment (THOSE are hard to find since most get lost) go for less than $10 last week. I believe currently there is a guy selling a pair, unboxed (one has the stick attachment) on eBay.. but it may have ended the last couple of days.. I haven't checked.

There is one but not in USB, it came out in 1996 but uses the old style connection. Probably going to be a bitch to find, but I'm sure they're out there if you're willing to settle for one like that. By the time the USB style ones came out they were all PS1 like and no USB.

I think I've seen game port to USB adapters at Radio Shack. Might be worth looking in there if you've got one in the area.

There's Gameport and Parallel Port to USB adaptors, and they shouldn't cost you more than ten bucks.

I've seen some of those pads and think they're cool. Not my cup of tea, but they looked pretty comfy.

I'ma gonna shimmy this into 'classic' gaming since the controller your talking about is pushing 11 years of age.

    Good luck on your hunt!
