Default A friend of mine needs help locating a retro electronic game

Here is the description that he gave. If anyone can help, just let me know! Thanks!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I was younger I remember for Christmas my brother and I got these electronic games, and for the life of me I can't remember what they were called, and don't know where to begin. Basically it was a battery operated mechinical toy/game where there was a screen, but what was displayed on it was images underneath the screen, that ran on "conveyor" belts. The game involved firing missles up, at planes (I *think*).

You pressed a button and the missile would fire up, and if you looked closely you could see the clear belt, with a missile/rocket painted on it, rotate up. I think if you hit the target a red explosion type light would flash where the impact was. There was a high score counter that looked similar to an odometer on a car, that counted up. You could push a button to reset the highscore, if I'm not mistaken.

I think there was also a race car game too. Either way I don't remember the name(s) of these games, or who made them. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, that thing looks awesome. Might not be tons of fun, but it's got style.

Speaking of gimmicky products and nostalgia, does anyone here remember the Captain Power show? I hadn't thought of it in years until I read the first post in this thread. When I was a kid, Saturday couldn't come around fast enough!

Heh, I've got both of those. The Hit and Missile doesn't work quite right (no collision detection), and the Digital Derby doesn't work at all, although I have it boxed. I love collecting these kinds of things. My brother used to have a Hit and Missile when we were young, but like every toy he ever got, he took it apart to see how it worked and never figured out how to put it back together.

That was awesome. I would dodge and weave to avoid getting hit. And when playing with friends, if you covered the sensor you'd get kicked.

I remember when I found out my aunt's friend worked on the show - she was a goddess for awhile among us. Then we got bored with the show.

Awesome site EVG. I have to say that Pitfall looks quite complex for what it is.
They call me Ha-do-ken, cause I'm down, right, fierce.
