Default What games database do you use to catalog your collection?

Above are the "major" games databases on the net. I determined majorness by size and completeness. So, databases with just a list of games don't count.

A comment as to why you use that particluar DB would be cool too.

I use ign for no other reason than that I already had a good start of games listed on it a couple years back so when I started tracking again I went there simple because it was already started.

Do any of the other services allow you to just check titles off a list instead of searching one title at a time like ign does?

On the other hand I use a checklist for my genesis games as I keep track of boxes and manuals for those

VGR! Same as the last time this question was asked.

VGR lets you tick boxes for owned or wanted from any search results listing. /end viral-marketing

Seriously, though, it's a hell of a lot more streamlined for adding stuff to your list than, say, IGN. Though it's a bit of a pain to remove stuff...

Other - I made a list on my freewebs site (there's a link in my sig). I also have a copy saved on the computer and update both lists whenever I get new games.

I use IGN, and have for years. I've stuck with them even when the "My Collection" section took a big shit last year. It's not perfect, but it'll do for now.

I use VGR and RFGeneration online and Cart Commander off.

I'm suprised that RFGeneration is not on the list too.

I've though about doing this for a long time. This way I could look at what I own, how many I've had and if I sold extra copies how much I've made, ect. I don't do much trading/selling but if I do one day it'd be very important, but should at least be used for tracking purposes on purchases.

I use DP for my overall database references. Due to the site changes I can no longer store my game list on here so I moved it all over to my public CS account at school and posted them all there organized. I still use DP to make sure the games are referenced correctly.

Yep, I use places such as here and AA for example to keep track of what's out there and use it to determine what I still need, but for the collection itself, it's mostly laid out in Excel. I'll be completing the format list in due course once I've moved everythingt to my new place; only the Commodore and Cube stuff is actually indexed at the moment.

I use the one at CGCC.ca. It has a small list of game (7359) in the database compared to the others listed but it is also pretty new. I have been submitting game info to help it grow.

I was using ign for a little while but I have been having problems adding games to my list.

I'm old school. I just manually make out long ass lists front/back on MS Word documents and print them out, then keep them in a filing cabinet. The said games are in the same filing cabinets. I don't have anywhere near what I used to in my collection, getting down just to what "I really intend to play" but even when I had over 1,400 games... I just used MS WORD. I'm a complicated individual by nature so I've learned it's best to live a simplistically as possible.

I'm a big fan of VG Rebirth and I use it religously. That and good ol' MK. 1 Eyeball.

Thats the same one I use, I like how easy it is to get games added, normally takes a couple days but I don't mind the wait.
