Default Can any PS2 Network adaptor work with any driver CD?

I think i'm asking this correctly.

I have a Slim PS2 that came with the network startup disc or whatever it's called. I also have a Fat PS2 with a network adaptor, but no startup disc.

Can I use the one that came with the slim PS2? The information just saves to the memory card and that's all you need right?

yes you can, but then again I think any game that has online play will have it's own configuration process.

Correct. Each online capable PS2 game has it's own configuration setup, so the "configuration CD" that comes with the slim PS2 or the PS2 network adapter is essentially worthless.

Not all. Off the top of my head, I know that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 doesn't, as well as DDR Supernova, and maybe some others as well.

Just sayin' that the disk still has some value.
