    Default Boxed Chubby Cherub

    This is not mine.

    Link

Why is the box so rare? The game seems fairly easy to find.

Ye, its wierd that the box is so damn rare. The game itself is very easy to get. You would think that more people actually kept the box.

What's nuts is I bought the last one on eBay in better shape WITH a manual for $275 less than 6 months ago.

It's one of the first thrid party released games for the NES. This one IS that tough to find.

Its the last box I need. but even I wont pay that price.Im sure after this auction ends some will show up. Plus there are only 3 to 4 guys I know that are willing to throw that kind of cash around after they get a copy hopefully the box will settle back to around 50.00 dollars

I know of at least 7 people on the nintendo forums (myself included) who will pay triple figures. I wont pay THIS much but I would pay a price similar to what the dkazz one hit. I dont see this box going below $200 ever, but I also dont see it hitting astronomical prices such as this auction (which will still get more bids as I can virtually guarantee braveheart will win it).

It has gone a lot higher than I expected. I originally threw in a $310 bid thinking it wouldn't reach that high because 1. The last was mint and sold for less and 2. This isn't even complete. However, seems that it has risen far beyond what I was expecting. I plan to win even if braveheart throws his bid in Gonna be a tough call on who gets it.
NintendoAGE - The best NES database engine available on the net!

My Collection - Well, kinda. One of these days I will actually get a pic of the whole collection and post it on there. Until then, I only have a few games in there with some additional collection info stuff.

early release that had only one production run, so greater box attrition. Later releases/production runs typically seem to have less attrition. (ie people keep their boxes today much more so than in the 2600 days as an example). Sqoon is exactly the same situation. Early game, one production run, no later-date reprinting of the box.

Bronty: The only reason people keep their boxes these days is because it just makes more sense to place your games on shelves in the stored CD/DVD cases.

Eventually it will be harder to find N64 boxes (maybe nowhere near as much as it is to find Game Boy and Atari 2600 ones) but it will happen.

I go as far as to say you'll find over time finding complete DVD/CD games will be hard...it's amazing how many people want to store these in CD books and trash the cases.

Almost all the modern games have cases when they are traded in. Go to any store that sells used N64 and PS1. What % of ps1 games have original cases verses N64 games with boxes? Its not even close.

I'd say I get 1 N64 box for every 80 or 100 N64 games and if I get 100 PS1 games traded in well less than 10 will be missing the original cases.
