How much cleaning do you have to give your NES and games to get them to work right?! I mean I've cleaned all my carts and all the new ones with a Q-Tip and dilluted alachol, and I'm still getting the flashing grey screen on the NES (new one traded with Achika) and barely been able to get Krazy kreatures and Pac-Man to work thus far!

Sometimes they take a LOT of cleaning. I had a ghost house card that took tons of eraser cleaning to get working.

Cart disassembly and white eraser cleaning is the next step in cleaning for you.

You seem to be wound a little tightly over this. Relax. It's just a game.

I know Joe but fact that I've gotten games to either play, collect or both 9which is most the case) and I can barely play them is frustrating.

If one is going to make one's hobby the playing of 15yr old and older electronics, one will have to make some sacrifices.

Have you considered that it may be necessary to replace the slot contacts?

some (most actually) NES games are so damn grubby that NO amount of alcohol & q-tip scrubbing is gonna get it done. I usually do the initial heavy scrubbing with Windex, it works great. then clean all that off with alcohol.

I've had some near black contacts gleaming using Windex, it works okay on corroded contacts too. those require a bit more work. sometimes it takes about 20 minutes to get one cleaned right but it's worth it.

Actually all my games look clean, only one that's really dirty that I gott aopen up is Lifeforce.
