Default Will a Genesis plug work on a Sega Master System?

I'm looking to buy an SMS, but the person is saying that he doesn't have have the power cord. He says a Genesis one will work too. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Yep! Genesis 1 power supplies will work with the Master System. As do Genesis controllers. And Genesis A/V cables. I don't think there's anything that's incompatiable between the two (except games, of course, but even that can be remided with the Power Base Converter).

    Short answer: Yes.

genesis controllers work perfectly fine on about 95% of the games, super wonderboy in super monster land, alien syndrome and f15 fighting falcon are amoung the very few that don't work

although if you can get swbisml to boot in mark 3 mode it WILL work with a genesis controller just fine.

The model number of the SMS and Genesis 1 AC adapters is identical. They are actually the same piece of hardware. The same goes for the Sega RF switches. It is much like how the Nintendo RF has always been that same gray box. No need to fear.

Yup, model 1 power supply works on a Master system. ANd the rf works for both as well. Also, i believe that the NES rf might work on it as well, i can't remember which systems i used it with to swap in and out systems without having to unhook anything. But i could be wrong.
