Also, I passed up Rockabye Baby yesterday, so shaddup. :P
Garage sales today,
Got a lonely copy of Wanderers from Ys III (SNES) for $1. How'd that end up there without a system or anything?!
I stopped by a sale advertising "80s collectibles". Meh, it was some leftover toys from the 80s, basically some stuff this guy had when he was a kid. We talked a bit about 80s toys. I got a little Pac-Man tin, a Tomy Football pocket game (a late one under the Milton Bradley "pocketfuls" label), an Animaniacs talking cube thing, and a little red Transformers decoy with a cowlike-staining of what appears to be an inky looking substance. Yoo hoo, Blitzwing, what should I use to clean it? Is Googone alright? All of the toys, sans the Pac-Man tin (which was $1) were $0.25 a piece. I haven't ID'd the decoy yet, but it's cool and going up on the shelf next to my other video game related figures.
EDIT:
Heh, just for the curious the decoy was #12, Skids.

As usual, finds where pretty weak; because of rain the past few weekends, many people are holding off on their sales. However, That's not to say I didn't have a few decent at best finds...
- Super Advantage joystick (Super NES. Loose in good condition): $10
- Nintendo 64 in box w\ 5 games and 2 controllers (Missing styrofoam tray): $10
Games included:
- Pokémon Snap (With box, instructions, and sticker sheet. Missing cardboard tray)
- Pokémon Stadium (With instructions and Transfer Pak)
- A Bug's Life
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
- Diddy Kong Racing
The N64 was a decent deal; although I already have one (I've had it since November 1997; with box, instructions, and styrofoam tray intact). Thus, I'll be selling it to my sister's father-in-law; who's been wanting to get another N64 for years.
Non-gaming finds:
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Official Soundtrack (Cassette. In case): $.25
I pulled a Kitsune here; getting this entirely for the cheesiness factor (Who wouldn't love to drive around while listening to the Ninja Rap?). I almost bought the other Ninja Turtles cassette they had (Coming Out Of Their Shells); although I passed it up (However, nothing is more metal than a mutated turtle playing a 1-string bass)
Nothing really, just this interesting little thing.
This came from one of the only shops in town that stocks older games. There are two locations, with one being even higher priced than the other overpriced one. (I'm talking Xenogears for $70 no matter the condition and Dragon Quest 7 for $80 just the same.) The owner runs one location and his (friendly) wife runs the other. I felt like stopping in the better location today, so I did.
I found Eternia on the shelf, brought it up to her and she looked at me with a real puzzled look. She asked if I found it on their rack because expensive stuff normally goes in the glass case and I said yes. With a sigh, the wife said that it should have been priced a lot higher but would honor the price tag for me. I payed and got out quick! One of the teens that works in there frequently made a boo-boo apparently; she didn't even know that this game was in there!
Interestingly, I found the Euro PSP release at a Gamestop just this past August. It was traded in as Radiant Mythology so I got it for $12.99. Still, nothing beats the original Eternia! (Complete and pristine, by the way.)

In Heaven, everything is fine.
The Hollywood Video/GameCrazy shutting down near me just marked everything down to $1.00…
Lots of brand new game guides to choose from…
The game and accessories selection itself wasn’t so good, but for a buck each, who’s complaining? Just over $30.00 for all of the above guides, games and accessories. Glad for the bargains, but sad to see all of these local vendors going kaput.
Then I finished off with a few rummage sales, all here was between $1 and $5. FF XI Expansion Pack is sealed. Now it's time to take care of some overdue yard work...

I have that first soundtrack on CD, and that second one in MP3. NINJA, NINJA RAP!
*ahem*
As for today's finds...
The top three games (Alone In The Dark 2008, Timeshift, Project Snowblind) were part of a trade at GameTZ. The guy was giving these away so I scooped them up; the shipping was kinda high so I offered a trade instead, I sent him Fallout 2 and Arcanum (both discs in cases) so they cost me $3 (+1.50 for getting the package from my PMB).
And Alone In The Dark included a soundtrack CD, which surprised -the hell- outta me. Always good to get a new CD.
The Thing (CE) is pretty much mint except for those godawful security stickers. I can't peel 'em off without leaving gunk, so I dunno what to do. The CD... I once owned an Ann DiFranco CD and liked it, so I figured I'd give this one a try too. Dunno what the music's supposed to be.![]()
This stuff was at a sale a few blocks from where I live. Genesis and all the games were $5. No hookups, though. I have ACs, but never seem to find those Gen2 rfs. The GBA SP was $5. The Vectrex cart (HyperChase) was marked $0.05 and in a box with some steering wheel and other reject accessories marked $2 for the box. When I went to pay they added it up sorta like this: "That's 5 for the box of games, this is .05 so that's 5.05, and another 5 makes it 10.05." I couldn't believe they carried the nickel along, but it was also pretty funny so i handed a 20 and a dime over and said they could have the extra nickel. Might be the first time I've paid more for something than it was marked, and 100% more at that! Shocking, I know!
Xbox games were $14 as marked, and I paid $11. Genesis boxes (D&D has manual, too) came in the mail from a DP member.
