Default Gamecube Service Disk from Nintendo Repair Center

I would like to get some opinions as to the value of a Gamecube Service disk. This is from a Nintendo Repair Center. You don't see many of these so it's hard to value. I don't know that I have ever seen one actually sell on ebay. The one listed now has a high price with a best offer option. Just curious what everyone thinks about it...possibly thinking of selling and just wanted to check first...

The value to a collector is sort of the point. It's the same way with other Nintendo test carts (NES, SNES, N64).

Sling BuyAtari a message and see if he sold the one he had. I think he was offering it for $120. I bought mine for $10... yeah sometimes you get lucky. It is very rare though... only seen a few others.

I got mine fairly inexpensively too, thank goodness. Still wondering if there are other numbered ones though. Anyone seen any?

It should be worth triple digits for sure, probably in the $100-$125 range .

I sort of doubt it's worth that much... You never know though, people are crazy.

As far as i'm aware, that's the first disc and it doesn't work on the GC without the digital audio. There's a second disc that works on that model.

I can't imagine it going for 100+ but then again... anyway I've sold some kiosk discs (sorta like this sorta) that went for 5 bucks each I'd say 10-20 is appropriate for this maybe...I mean its not something you can play so...

I can verify that it works on both. I have an early gen cube (w/ component out) and a later model (w/o digital out) and it works fine on both.

Not the same thing at all though. This is not a kiosk disk. Kiosk demo disks were sent to thousands of stores nationwide, which means that tons of each one exist. These Service Disks were only sent to Authorized Nintendo Repair Centers, which by the time the Gamecube rolled around were a fairly uncommon entity. Most of them had stopped supplying service by that time, which means that there are FAR fewer of these than there are any given kiosk demo disk.

I just wanted to clear up what this actually was for those who were unsure.

Of the few of these I've seen go up on eBay...$100 to $130 seems about accurate.

I don't have this one and would pick it up for $100 (seriously, pm me)

As for the side conversation, the only other service center disc I am aware of is the October 2002 disc, which seems to be quite a bit less common than this one here.

Thanks for the info sisko. One question though...did you actually mean October 2001 instead of 2002? The October 2001 would have been the initial disk sent out before the GCN launch in November 2001.

The October 2001 disk that you're talking about...was it more like a demo disk with some of the launch release games on it?

The reason I ask is because I have an "October 2001 Demonstration Disc" that I got from the same repair center. I'm wondering if this is the one you're talking about.

Yes. That's the one that I was talking about. That's the one that I have, but I only recently realized that it was a repair center only demo.

Has anyone else on here seen one of these sold? What's a good value estimate? Would seem that the $150 is a little too high.
