Well ive had mine for a few days now and have come away thoroughly impressed. I loved my psp and the vita just blows it out of the water. currently i have rayman origins, uncharted, and marvel vs capcom 3.

does anyone else have theirs yet? and if so what are you playing and what do you think of it?

I've had mine for over a month (bought the Japanese WiFi one) and love it. I mostly play Hot shots Golf right now but I also have -

    Ridge Racer (JP)
Hot Shots Golf (JP & US)
    Uncharted (JP)
    Wipeout (US)
    Little Deviants (US)

I don't have my machine yet, but I've got wipeout, and I've been notified that Touch My Katamari is available for pickup today.

How's Rayman? And, more importantly, how's the online features? Can you download PSP games on it?

I got mine last week. It's an amazing machine. Love the feel of it and look. I think people with bigger hands may have an issue gripping the back since the you aren't really suppose to touch the touch panel all the time. I picked up Uncharted, Little Deviants, ModNation, Katamari, and Hot Shots. I am really enjoying all the games but Uncharted is the cream of the crop. It's addicting and fun, and just a great game. Looking to get Rayman soon as it is a fantastic game as well.

Is the screen any better quality than say the 3000 or Go?

Looks like a nice little handheld. Hopefully they get emulation figured out on it soon. Or at least a way to boot into PSP mode so that you can run the emulators that it's already got.

You know Billy Madison? When Sandler gets all excited for nudie magazine day?

That's me right now, but instead, it's new game console day.

The wait is always the worst part for new hardware. I get all jittery. I have Uncharted already and I'm waiting on Target to put out the rest of the launch day stuff, or Amazon to include them in the B2G1 sales. Wanted Hot Shots and Wipeout but won't do it because they include online passes. I'll probably snag Dynasty Warriors, Lumines, and Marvel/Capcom in the end. GameFly has Army Corps of Hell on the way to me now as well.

The screen is miles ahead of the interlaced mess that is the 3000. Can't speak for the Go.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mad Catz or someone release an UMD drive attachment down the line. It would be a battery killer, but the benefits would outweigh the negative.

while the hardware is amazing (although the issues such as updates bricking some) worries me the cost is also high especially with those damn memory cards of sony's/ So likely I will buy a 3DS first. that said I loved psp and I want one of these eventually.

I'm just amazed that they are already selling games, and have been for a week. I'll probably end up getting one, probably after the first price drop.

It looks really, really promising. Then again, that's what people said about the PSP, and I found nothing to play on that for years.

I can't imagine it ever getting a UMD drive attachment. Too cumbersome and too limited of a market for Sony to bother with (If it's even practical to start with from a technical point of view). Much of the world has left the PSP behind and many of the most popular games are available as downloads to satsify those with an interest in playing PSP software on their Vita.

I suppose the only thing that might change that situation is Japan where the PSP is still popular.

Had some Best Buy cards from X-Mas floating around and when I saw that it was free standard shipping online via Best Buy's site I went that route today.

Should be in my hands by the 29th at the latest.

Looking forward to adding yet another portable into my current 3DS/iPad/PSPGo rotation. When Sony gets their compatible PSP/PS1 download library for Vita up to speed I'll probably be able to put my Go into storage.

I love the Vita hardware and can't say enough good about it. It's extremely refreshing to see a traditional console maker deliver a handheld unit with no obvious flaws. Even if they do deliver an updated/improved version a year or two down the line I wouldn't feel like a jackass earlier adopter, if that makes sense within the context of handhelds.

I unfortunately can wait to buy this due to the batshit crazy cost and lack of compelling original software. I like Rayman Origins as much as the next person, but I have it on 360. I know I can't take the 360 version anywhere, but the chances of me bringing that big, beautiful handheld everywhere I go is slim to none at best.

Still, Vita rocks and I really hope developers get a chance to exploit its possibilities.

At the risk of sounding completely ignorant, does or will this thing feature some kind of e-reader? Sony has been in that market for some time and, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the screen type, size and resolution would at least somewhat lend itself to reading.

Been debating my next tech purchase for some time now, and this is one of my deciding factors.

Nothing announced and frankly, I think it's not likely to happen given the screen format which isn't really in compliance with most e-reader screen layouts. There were some hacks for the PSP that allowed people to use them as e-readers, but nothing official and frankly, Sony seems to be slowly exiting the e-reader business, so I doubt they are going to put any resources into what would be a very niche application. Why not just buy a Kindle? It's like 1/3 the price?

Yeah, Kindles are so cheap that they're basically advertising that you should just buy all of them. It's still cheaper than an iPad.

I wouldn't want to read for an extended period on a screen that isn't e-ink. I haven't played the Vita yet. Maybe they'll have demo units soon?
