I don't want to seem rude or dismissive because I can tell your heart is in the right place, but basically you need to seriously look at what you're doing and try to differentiate yourself from the already crowded Retro Game YouTube Reviewer pack. You're going to be lost in the noise.

Just my two cents. I think you have talent and an obvious love of the subject matter, but that isn't enough in the already saturated YouTube scene. Sorry dude.

You talk too fast, which is VERY annoying.

Your insults don't make any sense.

It lacks depth and originality. It's definitely a blatant ripoff from AVGN. Hell, even HVGN is more interesting to watch.

Then why do you keep dumping them here? I agree with Stu that this thread shouldn't be locked at this point, but you'll be tempabanned if you start another one about it.

These forums aren't your own personal advertising board, they're a place to talk about (mostly) video games. So make conversation, make silence, or make tracks.

I absolutely loathe, abhor, and despise the few AVGN and AVGN-esque videos that I've ever wasted my time watching. I absolutely cannot stand these little teens, tweens, and twentysomethings liberally sprinkling their attempts at "reviews" with their smarmy, snarky comments, quick-cut, MTV-style editing, "clever" graphics and soundbites, and background emo soundtracks. Maybe it's because I'm in my late thirties that I feel so disconnected, but I like to think it's because I have a modicum of taste.

The one AVGN video that really boiled my blood was where he totally ripped on the Atari 5200 (which happens to be my favorite system). What a waste of time. He just spent the entire ten minutes or so showing (via horrible acting) how "difficult" it was to set up and how he wasn't able to play any of the games. One of his points was that the system and the trackball ("bigger than an NES!") were "ginormous". How does that affect the quality of the games? He was also (fake-)perplexed with the cord set-up. And yes, we all know the controllers were notoriously bad, so going the extra mile to find a workaround is the only hurdle to an otherwise excellent system. But his whole purpose was just to defame and rip on it. Yet another younger-generation gamer who just doesn't get it. (Disclaimer--I have nothing against people younger than me... just the aforementioned types of douchebags.)

The video game videos on youtube that I do enjoy are the walkthrough/speed-run solution videos, with straight-up playing and NO talking or cutting away to the person playing it. I get a thrill from watching someone going all the way through the NES Rygar and SMS R-Type and Wonderboy III without taking a single hit.

As for you, Game Dude, you need to change up your game, because, as everyone else here has mentioned, you're merely aping the AVGN, a very poor template to begin with. And it's quite difficult for us to care about you when you clearly don't care about getting to know us and interact with our community--you're only interested in spamming us to promote yourself. Abort mission.

I got through half of it. I had to close the window. Too many profanities. Want to be taken seriously? Stop trying to stand out via shock factor, and make yourself stand out via content in your reviews. I don't understand the fascination with these "shock reviewers" Sure the AVGN was pretty funny the first 7 times, but I prefer more substance, say Zero Punctuation for instance. Not to say Yahtzee isn't vulgar, but he uses it by being coy, rather than blunt.

Things to avoid in video game reviews:

-any vulgar word used excessively. The greatest comics use these words sparingly or not at all.
-any name of any animal (We get it, you said Hippo Urine. Ha. !)
-Phallic references
-Cuts to yourself. No one really cares. Show us more game.
-Bad Timing, Bad Voice (Not to say you can help these things, but if your reviews are hard on the ear, no one is going to pay attention.)

yeah, try not to swear as much. Someone who swears every other word is not really taken seriously. you can still be funny and not swear and in the end, THAT takes more creativity then just saying "this game is like (insert animal here) shit"

Also, when you constantly say "as the angry video game nerd always says..." or mentioning that your inspired by the AVGN, doesn't help. It just draws attention to the fact that you really are just trying to rip him off.
To be totally honest, AVGN isn't as funny to me anymore. At first he was so funny...now...I'm bored, Its just the same poop jokes over and over again.
