    Default January 2013 Finds

I'm starting the new year off right. I've been trying since Saturday to get Far Cry 3 for Target's sale price of $39.99. Every store I've been to within about a 50 mile radius of my house has been sold out. Finally snagged a copy at Wal Mart today and got them to match the rain check Target gave me on Saturday. Happy New Year everybody!

Three Pokemon Strategy Guides $3 each
    Xenosaga Episode 1 and 2(PS2) $3 each
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3(PS2) $3 each
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess(Wii) $8.99
    WWE 12(360) $10
    Dragon Quest VIII(PS2) $3
    Hip Hop Dance Experience(Kinect) $4

I found most of this stuff at Goodwill. I wish they would have had those three/six Pokemon games but I'll take what I can get. The PS2 games are all like new but DQVIII was missing the game disc. It had the Final Fantasy XII demo and a Final Fantasy XII game disc. Thats probably a good thing since it doesn't look like DQVIII is worth that much complete. The Hip Hop Dance game disc has one of those annoying rings around it so I now know why it was a Target return but I need to repair it. Twilight Princess and WWE 12 were Best Buy sale grabs. It's now dawned on me that I have three WWE wrestling games on 360 and haven't played a single one of them.

Alan Wake(360) Hong Kong version $30
Angel Complete series on dvd $9
Bust A Groove demo in Duke Nukem(PS1) sleeve $1
A bunch of preorder swag from various games covering various systems $7

Almost all versions of Alan Wake are suppose to be region free, including this one. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet but if nothing else it's one more thing for my AW collection. I was somewhat surprised a guy was selling the complete Angel series for so little. I was less surprised by my bad habit of not checking to see if all the disc were in there first. It's only missing two disc from season 2 and even if I had known this thats still a really good deal. But I need to start doing a better job at checking my game and movie disc before I leave from purchasing them second hand. At another table a guy was selling lots of games and he had a little container with several loose games and demos. I hate loose disc but Bust A Groove's demo is kind of rare. So is Duke Nukem but the disc wasn't in there so I asked if I could use it for BAG and he agreed. All the preorder stuff is from the same dude I bought stuff from last week at the flea market, only this time he had a few new preorder items.

    Soul Calibur V limited edition(360) $20
American Pie: Band Camp dvd $1.91
    The Mythology Bible 66 cents

Although I already have Soul Calibur V I suppose I will get atleast a little use from the extras. The price on that thing kept going down and nobody was interested long enough for me to finally grab it cheap. I picked up the American Pie and Mythology book at a thrift store. I know the movie is going to suck but it was cheap enough for me to grab it. I'll be using the Mythology book as a reference for an upcoming work project.

My first game purchase of the new year is....

    May's Mystery: Forbidden Memories (DS)

I found it for $9.99 at a local closeout store here called Ollie's. I had seen it in there before Christmas and went back today to check to see if they still had it and they did.

Just got a copy of Rolling Thunder 2 for the genesis in the mail from an online listing for $7. It was described as "game with case, acceptable condition".

Complete with manual, no stickers, absolutely pristine condition. I love it when sellers don't think.

Way to go on the dreamcast finds! Don't know a lot about PC/DVD values but I'm sure they were fairly good deals, too.

The Criterions are worth a bit, except for Black Orpheus, since that was just released on Bluray. Wolfenstein sells for $33 shipped... but in a jewel case. I might get a bit more since this is boxed. Elite Force is worthless.

Well, do you want it? ;p I'd rather have a playable copy than a sealed one.

No photos because I haven't cleaned em yet but a Sega 32x (8 bucks) from the local game shop and a N64 with atomic purple controller (15 bucks) from the pawn shop that came with the ram expansion. Both complete working systems just need to be cleaned. Woot.

    First finds of the year...

GameCube Worms 3D, X-Men Legends II, Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life and PS2 FF VII Dirge of Cerberus-$5.99 each at Goodwill.

GameCube Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (missing manual), LOZ: Collector's Edition were $4.99 each at Salvation Army. PS2 Klonoa 2 was a different SA find for $2.99.

These were $1 each at a hole in the wall thrift. I presume they are (p)review copies; the discs look like the standard PC releases.

Not really, I think these were bundled together like that at one point. Still neat finds!

    Flea market finds...

Xbox Guy Game and PS2 Ghost in the Shell were $4 each. PS1 Spider and Reloaded were $2 each. Star Ocean Second Story was $3; unfortunately the discs have Hollywood Video stickers on them. BTW, is this 2 CD slimcase version an official release, or is Hollywood Video's doing?

    Criterion Two Lane Blacktop DVD-$2
Electric Company Book-$1. It's kind of an academic outline of what the show was going to be about and how it was going to teach, filled with pictures and B&W animation stills from 5 test programs made during the summer of 1971.

2 shrinkwrapped copies of StarTropics-$4 each. They both have wear around the edges; one of them has a couple of tears in the shrinkwrap.

    Today's finds and Goozex arrivals:

    Eraser: Turnabout (PC) - $2
Iron Man (PC, new) - Free, Goozex
X3: The Official Game (PC, new) - Free, Goozex (disc 1 was loose)
Hulk (PC, new) - Free, Goozex

I already owned Eraser Turnabout, but my discs were scratched. These are mint so I'll just sell my other copy. As far as I know this was not released in a box in the US, it was only bundled with computers, so as far as I'm concerned it's complete. X3... disc 1 was loose and super scratched. I dunno if it'll even work. I can probably find a cheap replacement somewhere.

The Lost World (1997 Lumivision DVD) - $1
The Midnight Horror Collection (Last of the Living / Grave Mistake / Awaken The Dead / I Am Omega) - Free, Goozex
The Ultimate Ninja Collection: Mafia vs Ninja - Free, Goozex
18 Fingers of Death - Free, Goozex

And since I was in the middle of town paying some bills, I hopped to the supermarket nearby to pick up some DVDs for reselling (turns out one of the things I picked up last month is actually worth a lot on eBay because the movie has no R1 release and probably never will!) and I saw they still had the Five Peso DVD bin... and that all other DVDs and Blurays were 40% off. And this is what I walked out with.

    Gatúbela (Catwoman) R1/4 - 36 pesos ($3)
9 Ninjas y medio (9 1/2 Ninjas! ... yes, really. English audio with Spanish subtitles) - 5 pesos (40 cents)
Contagio Mortal ("Pars vite et reviens tard", aka Seeds of Death, aka Have Mercy on Us All, French audio with Spanish subtitles) - 5 pesos (40 cents)
Hitman (The Hitman, with crackpot Chuck Norris, English audio with Spanish subtitles) - 5 pesos (40 cents)
Acceso denegado ("Falsche Liebe - Die Internetfalle", aka Access Denied, Spanish dub) - 5 pesos (40 cents)
Horror Vol. II (El baúl (The Item), Payaso diabólico (Hellbreeder), Noche de halloween (Dark Walker), and Jigsaw (the one title they should've translated... and they didn't) - 30 pesos ($2.90)
Las aventuras del Santo Vol, 2 (Santo contra los jinetes del terror, Santo vs. el asesino de la televisión, El tesoro de Moctezuma, and Operación 67) - 30 pesos ($2.90)

I'm probably hitting the other supermarket nearish to my home and see if I can find the -other- volumes of these Santo and Horror sets. The five peso bin promo ends on the 5th, and the 40% off promo on the 6th.

    Note to self:
NEVER BOTHER TO LINK TO IMDB PAGES AGAIN, WHAT THE FUCK, MAN.

Got the following PS1 games in the post today:

Mortal Kombat 3 (Cardboard box version)
    Abe's Oddysee (Need replacement disc)
    Abe's Exoddus (Need manual)
Final Fantasy VI (In great condition!)

All black label PAL, of course. Now I just hope I can get the disc and the manual for those Oddworld games somewhere.

I started the New Year with a bang. Here is my score.

My buddy hooked me up with all of the games for a low low price of $60 and a Snes Power Cord.

Star Ocean The Last Hope and one of the copies of Blue Dragon were bought separate from the lot. Paid $15 for both.

I got one question, how much is this lot worth? I hate using eBay to figure out prices and the rarity guide here doesn't have prices for some of the games.

The PS2 Final Fantasy stuff is cheap, probably $20-30 total, the XBox 360 FFXI is about $10-15 The PS1 Final Fantasy set is about $120
Those Zeldas are probably about $100 The Xenosaga set is about $50
