    Oh Kitsune was so close!

Anyways, as some of you may know I work at a thrift store and am in charge of the electronics. Well I popped my head in today to do some shopping. I like to look at my display case to see what has sold so I can change future prices accordingly. Well, I just take a look and see two real big game cases. Obviously one is the Sega CD game Cliffhanger that has been sitting there. So I take a look at the other one and can't believe my eyes:

Turns out my battery just sucked so this is a crappy cell phone picture.

    Complete and in great shape.

It wasn't tagged and since it was a CD guess what the total price was? $1. I was kind of upset that the cashier forgot my 20% employee discount, but that's okay.

Now to tell you why I am upset. You see, when just about any form of electronic media comes in that has a barcode (DVD, CD, PS2 game, etc) it is taken to the office and scanned to see if it has any value. Items not worth anything are put out on the floor. So occasionally I will notice a crappy sports game that has been put in my case without a price, since the employees think the cashier will know it to be a $1 CD. I can only guess this was the case with GH, but the barcode was clean, so I dunno. What makes me mad is that nobody donates just one rare Saturn game. There are going to be others with it. I am willing to bet they are in the office and didn't even go by me. Oh well, it isn't Porksta's thrift store after all. The other thing that makes me mad is I don't know if any other games were put in the case with it and the buyer just missed this one! I wouldn't have minded paying $1 for some other Saturn games!

    Lita's Biography $1.50
    Edge's Biography $1.50
Super Mario All Stars/Super Mario World $3
    Kirby's Dreamcourse $3

Too bad both Lita and Edge's book were written before they got controversial. But it's still a good price to pay for two of my all time favorite wrestlers early stories.

I wouldn't have guessed if you hadn't given out that silly clue. A Saturn Treasure? Capitalized T? Come on.

    As for me...

Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition NIB - $2
    Space Siege - $2
    Best of Mahjongg - $1
Adobe Illustrator CS Ed. Version - $2
The War In Heaven - $1.50 (Why do I buy these things? Curse you, MobyGames!)
Power Stone CIB (disc has one large scratch, dunno if it'll work) - $1
Street Fighter Alpha 3 (disc + back inlay) - $1
    Charlie Rouse - Brazil: $1
V/A - Marked For Death Original Soundtrack Album: $1 (And this one is 100% perfect!)

Glad to see someone on here picked that lot up. I emailed the guy and considered buying it it but it was just way too much for me to go through right now. Mind if I ask how much you paid?

Anyway here are my finds so far for November...

Gamecube with all the games, GB player and Wavebird $50
    Mighty Boosh DVDs $5
    Silent Hill CIB $2

I went on a SNES shopping spree this afternoon and got the following cart-only games:

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for $30 - It was originally priced at $50, but I traded a bunch of stuff I didn't want anymore to knock the price down.

Super Mario All Stars for $20 - My sister has been telling me that she misses playing original Super Mario Bros., so I figured she would enjoy this.

    Donkey Kong Country for $20

Secret of Evermore for FREE because the shop I bough SMAS & DKC had "buy two games, and get the cheapest one free" deal on their SNES games!

Super Mario Kart for $10 - The original price was $20, but I negotiated with the shop owner.

    Pocky and Rocky for $7.

$20 for Donkey Kong Country is way too high.

Nice that you got SoE for free, however you over paid on SMAS which goes for $15 or so at most and DKC which goes for $8-$10 on average.

However you paid only $30 for SMRPG and only $10 for SMK, so that kinda balances it out.

Yeah, I know I overpaid a bit on some of the games. But I figure that as long as I enjoy playing them, it's worth the little extra cost.

Now, if only I could find a cheap copy of Earthbound!

When I started to get back in to this hobby that's what I would say, then my cash would be gone with the quickness so now I scour the net for the best price and haggel a lot at stores. It helps to have a phone with the net on it, store owners get so pissed when I show them the item at 1/3 of there price then theriten to hit the buy button.(It works even better with flea market venders that have high prices)

Ran to Half Price Books to find a math book for my 6th grader last night at closing time and found these:

    Gameboy Camera - $3.98
    F-Zero (SNES) - $2.98
    Zelda: Links Awakening $4.98
    Pokemon Blue $2.98
    Pokemon Yellow $2.98
    Super Mario Land $3.98
    Mega Man II $2.98
    Armorines $2.98
    Pocket Bomberman $2.98

Probably overpaid for a few of these, but I don't find these games much around here.

We paid $1000 for it. We overpaid imo after going through it all. We figure we can resell everything we have already to make the money back and part of it was the hope we'd turn up something else valuable besides the World Series Major League Baseball (finally got that name right).

However, doesn't seem to be the case. A lot of games, just nothing stand out valuable. We may struggle to make back that $1k but it should be doable. The assload of accessories will also give loose systems we have full sets of hookups/controllers, so we can now sell those too.

Yes it was! Sorry about not responding back - got busy after the kids got home from school. You were right on pretty much everything - obviously the previous owners bought some of those "10 in 1" Intec GBA accessory kits. Like I said, I love a good grab bag and some are better than others.

    Thanks again!

Eh? Link's Awakening has a variant? There's no Seal of Quality on there. I never knew that!

heh. I didn't notice it either. I actually bought this one thinking I already had it and can use it to trade, but it turns out I have 2 Link's Awakening DX's instead, so now I'm glad I grabbed it. If this one doesn't have the seal of quality, does it mean that it sucks badly compared to the ones with a Seal?

I looked at the cart scans over at RFGeneration and there's many variants.

    1. The original release with seal, part # DMG-ZL-USA
    2. The Players choice release with seal and "K-A" rating, part #DMG-ZL-USA-1

Now the one I found is part #DMG-ZL-USA-2, and has no Seal and a "E" rating. Not sure what that makes this one. More research required...
