    Smile My Easter Basket (2011)

Continuing in our tradition, I received another game themed Easter Basket this morning. This year it was a Super Mario theme again. I don't usually get repeat themes, but with the release of the 25th Anniversary Edition SMB Wii it was a welcome revisiting (I would have gotten an Anniversary Edition Wii for Christmas, but we didn't exchange gifts for Christmas last year). Shamefully, I just realized that she painted the basket metallic gold; that's pretty awesome. Big thanks to the other half!

I haven't gone through it completely yet, but from what I can see there's:

    • 25th Anniversary Wii Console
    • Super Mario Bros. All-Stars for Wii
    • Little Goomba Beanie Hat
    • Power Up Mushroom Chain Wallet
    • Wii Console Shaped Gift Card Holder
    • Box of Assorted Jelly Belly Jelly Beans
    • Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs
    • Assorted Super Mario Bookmarks (?)
    • Super Mario Wrist bands
    • Bob-omb Candy Dispenser
    • Starman Mini Plushies
    • Wii 2000 Points Gift Card
    • 2 bags of Brach's Bridge Mix

My Baskets from previous years: 2010 HALO, 2009 Resident Evil, 2008 Zelda, 2007 Super Mario

I usually get my partner an Isabella Fiore purse for her Easter Basket, but this year we set a budget cap, so I got her a Pullip Doll ("Lolita" from 2010 -- she's wanted to start collecting, this will be her first), a Pullip Style Book and carry tote, some assorted candies, a Dove chocolate faerie bunny, and a few lottery scratch offs.

Her basket this year has a flower theme. I also wired it with LEDs for dramatic effect, which was a first:

Her baskets from previous years: 2010 Birds, 2009 Butterflies

We also gave my mother-in-law a basket this year (there's a few boxes of Tasty Kakes in there, since she's originally from Philly):

We have family in town, so I'm going to cook breakfast for everyone in a bit, then we're going to cook out later today (veggie burgers, FTW!). If/However you all celebrate, I hope you all have a Happy Easter.

Did anyone else give or receive games for the holiday, BTW? A few mentioned last year that they might.

EDIT: I just realized that I'm posting this is in the Classic Gaming forum -- probably because the last thread about Easter Baskets was. I did get a copy of Mario All-Stars, which is classic, and the 25th anniversary Wiis are a throwback, if that counts. :^p Feel free to move it if it's inappropriate.

Wow, that's a really nice haul for Easter! All I got was:

    2 Hershey Bars
    2 Boxes of Milk Duds
2 packs of Strawberry Trident Gum
    3 Hershey Chocolate Bunnies
    $25 Visa Card
    2 Mini-packs of Raisins.

I'm perfectly content with my stuff though.

DAMN!!!!!! you guys go all out for Easter, thats awesome.

Easter is a fake holiday in my house hold, therefore I got nothing but the jelly beans that have been sitting on the coffee table since the beginning of the month.

I got to install a new battery in my dad's Plymouth Breeze this easter morning. The damn thing is under the wheel well, you have to take that damn tire off to get it out. Getting the inside panel back on is the hard part.

Then I ate a bowl of multi-grain Cheerios.

My Easter isn't going to be that extravagant but this morning The wife and I went to Church. This afternoon the whole family is going to my Grandparents' house for Easter lunch and for my Grandpa's Birthday. I always look forward to these family times. It'll probably be tomorrow but I plan on watching the Passion Of The Christ, a movie that celebrates the true meaning of Easter and has been my tradition since it was released.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

Nice Easter Basket. I have got nothing, nor have I been invited to any dinner today. Nor do I expect anything. So basically I just have to pretend that it's not Easter today.

Ah, I discovered there's also a Mario belt buckle that comes with the wrist band. What an odd combination.

WTH? The battery is under the wheel well? That's just sadistic.

I got my Xbox Live stand-in for Easter from my sister. So now when I need to go pee, get bored, tired of cussing 12 year olds, boring movie night on xbox live...ya, I'm covered. I did get candy, but I've been doing extremely well with my diet, not gonna fuck it up over a holiday.

RIP Kamino. 1984-2010. Yes, yes I do like nes...

I got some candy, Dungeon Raiders on the DS and the ultimate piece de resistance: A Homer Simpson Chia Head. I win.

I didn't get her anything but the overnight trip to NYC for our anniversary on Thursday more than covered it.

I got nothing, and instead wasted money to go to a brunch buffet.

    Yay me.

I've had the same theme 37 years in a row, which is "easter candy in a basket from the dollar store."

    Not complainin', just sayin'.

There were dollar stores 37 years ago? I imagined that was the ass end of the five and dime era.

I got stuck in the car for an hour with the stench of cigarettes and farts.
