Default How many times have you saved the Princess in a Mario game?

I just finished Super Mario Galaxy, causing me to reflect briefly on all the times that I have rescued the Princess from Bowser's clutches.

    Personally, I count eight.

    Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2 (J) aka The Lost Levels
    Super Mario Bros. 3
    Super Mario World
    Super Mario 64
    New Super Mario Bros.
    (DS)
    New Super Mario Bros. Wii
    Super Mario Galaxy

    Edit:
I saved the Princess in the Super Mario Bros. Special rom patch/hack of the Hudson Soft version of Super Mario Bros., too.

I guess at this point I've saved multiple princesses.

    Pauline in:
    Donkey Kong

    Peach in:
    Super Mario Bros.
    Super Mario Bros. 3
    Super Mario World
    Super Mario 64
    Super Mario Sunshine
    Super Mario Galaxy
    Paper Mario
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (her voice)
    Super Mario RPG

    Daisy in:
    Super Mario Land

    Haven't played:
    Super Mario Bros. 2 (jp)
    Super Mario Galaxy 2
    New Super Mario Bros.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
    Super Paper Mario
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
    Super Mario 3D Land

Was Pauline a princess? Hell, was Pauline even "Pauline"? I'm not sure I'd consider the animation canon.
Oh, and I'm sure I'm in the minority around here, but I've only ended Super Mario Bros. 1, 3, and Super Mario World.

Pauline is not a princess, she is just Mario's girlfriend. I'm pretty sure Pauline had a name in a game once, maybe GB Donkey Kong?

At least you bothered to save the Toads, most people warped over those castles leaving the the poor Toads to rot un-rescued forever.

I don't think they would have mind... In fact, most of the time they looked way too happy when they emerged from that bag.

I've saved the princess 6 times... but if you count all the times I've replayed the games... it's probably over 60 times.
