Default NES & SNES Wirless Controllers

Got me thinking about that hack the guy did for the Wii that uses the NES or SNES controllers on the Wii playing VC Games..I wonder if there's a way to make a wireless NES & SNES controller for the NES & SNES system

With the NES, Hack a NES Satellite , don't know about the Super NES

    Like these?

The blue ones are NES controllers and the ones that look like SNES controllers are well.. SNES controllers. Both are.. of course.. IR; but if you're referring to radio controllers.. then no.. nothing like that exists except for the Messiah ones; and if you're thinking about making some.. good luck. There's a reason why no one has commercially produced any such controllers.

I owned a pair of those blue controller back in the day and they were total crap.

I would wet myself out of sheer delight if someone would make some RF 6-button Genesis controllers. My wireless Xbox controller has spoiled me.

Wasn't Messiah planning to make RF Genesis controllers at one time? I haven't checked them out in ages.. but it wouldn't surprise me if that got put on the back burner.. like they do.

As far as IR controllers go.. I know a lot of people say they're crap.. but they suit me just fine.. probably because I don't play "twitch" games like fighters and such. They've always worked fine for me on RPGs.

Prepare to wet yourself in delight! This uses IR, not RF, but it works as well as a wavebird does (provided you keep it pointed in the general direction of the TV). I was skeptical when I bought it, but since first using it, I've been super impressed.

Went through my collection of pics and found all the SNES ones that I know are wireless units.

    Acclaim Wireless Dual Turbo

    DOCS Wireless

    Konami Hyperbeam Wireless

    Messiah Wireless

    Micro Genesis Remote

    XGO Wireless

    Mystery "Infrared"

    Mystery Supersonic

    Mystery Wireless

By the way, if anyone knows the brand or model of the three mystery controllers, then speak up.

The brand from the first one is Alston.

The second one is from QuickShot. It's not for SNES, but rather compatible with NES/Atari/Sega (advertised as "Most Video Game Systems"). It was also later released under a different name, Starfighter 1. In Germany, boeder released them as well, with the same "Controller" name, but it's really just a different outer box, as the included controllers & paperwork are all from QuickShot. Probably more than you wanted to know, but figured I'd share it anyway

There's also a NES version of the XGO controllers...if anyone comes across those in complete condition, please let me know!

I have pics of quite a few wireless SNES controllers not listed here...if anyone is interested, I could upload them to my photobucket account.
I'm always looking for new boxed NES accessories. If you've got any for sale, shoot me a PM!

I consider myself warned, and that a purchase of Depends should be made before bringing one of these controllers home.

Does it work well with action games? How much do those typically go for?

I found it awhile ago at a local pawn shop. Apparently they were usually sold as a set of two with one receiver. I only got one and the receiver. I didn't know about them until I saw it.

It works great with all games I've played with it. Virtua Racing, Mortal Kombat, Sonic CD, Heart of the Alien, etc... It also works with the Atari 7800 and Sega Master System. The responsiveness is as good as the wavebird. The only caveat is that you gotta keep it pointed in the direction of the TV.

As for how much they typically go for, I have no idea. I got mine for $6.00 Cdn including the receiver.

Well, some are from the US market, so they should definitely work on a US SNES...and I don't think PAL ones are incompatible either, but I don't know that for sure.

Don't forget...there's also the DOMINATOR Master Control for the NES.
