I have the opportunity to get this game for my collection but have not seen it on ebay or around much to judge how much its worth. Someone is willing to sell it to me for $80 but it seems like a lot for an sms game. Is it really that rare? Is it a good price? All you SMS experts, need your opinion on this one.

I assume you mean SMS Home Alone as in the locked thread?
It's pretty rare, but $80 is way over the odds. I'd say £20 (~$37) max for a complete one, half that if it's just box/cart, and no more than £5($8) loose.

Alrght, my local rental place has a bunch of N64 sports games for 2 bucks a pop. They are in ratty boxes, few have instructions, and the carts have stickers on them. 2 Tony Hawk titles, plus other various NBA and NFL games. Is $2 a piece worth it?
No

This is a coincidence. I've been offline for about two weeks due to personal problems; and also a major OS crash (Had to reformat and re-install.. we've all been there.). My personal problem is quickly developing into a "nightmare". Thank God I'm not in trouble with the law or had a "long lost" offspring come knocking at my door (nothing quite that serious); but having said that.. I'm coming to the realization that NOW is the time for me to unload my collection. I need cash to get on my feet and get a "home" of my own.. and soon (My current "plight" is explained in the thread Pico started a few weeks ago in the OT forum about people living with their parents.. for anyone interested.).

Last night before I dropped back in I was thinking about asking for your guys help but I couldn't figure out where to post exactly.. and then I see the sticky today.. weird.

I know the best way to make "top dollar" for my collection would be to split it up in various ways, and sell it on evilBay, but quite frankly, right now I'm afraid I have neither the time nor the ambition. So.. what I need to know is.. how much would.. or should.. I expect to get/ask for the entire lot on eB? My current count for games is at 765 and a list of them can be found at the bottom.. in my sig. I apologize for the crappy-assed IGN "new" format. Should one decide to look at it you'll be forced to wait awhile (on dial-up anyways) as all the frickin' box art loads up. IGN has not yet given owners/editors a way to lock-in options for public lists. I can get rid of the box art for myself.. but not others.. go figure. If you also click on the "show public notes" link you'll be able to see individual conditions; and notice that 95+% of these games are complete. No REAL "rares" or oddities.. but many of them are HTF or "popular" as in wanted.. and NO sports games.

It would be too lengthy to post them all in this thread so the link will have to do. One last thing.. out of ALL of these games.. I believe only one or two are GH versions (where applicable); and they are noted as such.

Systems.. here's my smaller list:

44 systems-

NES toaster (boxed)
NES top loader

SMS 1
SMS 2

SNES 1 (boxed)
SNES Mini-2

Genesis 1
Genesis 2
Genesis 3

SegaCD 1
SegaCD 2 X2 (1 semi-functional)

CDX
Xeye

32X X2 (1 boxed)

SMS Cnvtr

TurboDuo (boxed)

PSX SCPH-1001 (boxed)
PSX SCPH-55XX X2
PSone w/LCD screen

3DO (Goldstar)
3DO Panasonic FZ-1
3DO Panasonic FZ-10

CD-i Philips 490
CD-i Magnavox Flip-top w/VCD exp

Sega Saturn 1
Sega Saturn 2 (modded)
Wht JAP Saturn

N64 X2 (1 grey [boxed], 1 Polar [non-functional])

Jaguar base X2

Jaguar CD add-on (boxed)

Dreamcast

Gamecube
GBA player

PS2 (orig. model, boxed)

Xbox (boxed)

Game Gear X2 (1 grey, 1 blue)

Lynx 2

Nomad

NeoGeo Pocket Color (boxed)

ALL systems come with their original hookups, cables and controllers. Some have two controllers (such as 2 dogbones for the TL NES).

I have official carrying cases for the Game Gear, Lynx, NGPC and CDX.

My peripherals are too many to list as well. I have memory cards for all the various systems that had them and NONE are 3rd party ones. All of my controllers are 1st party stuff. If a system has a remote (as in PS2 or Xbox) I have the genuine ones as well. Any system that had a mouse (as in SNES, GENS, CD-I, 3DO, PSX).. I have as well.. all 1st party ones. I have a Pocketstation. I have IR OR radio remote controllers for the systems that had them (NES, GENS, SNES, PSX, Saturn, GCN, PS2 and Xbox). In the case where there were 1st party ones (GENS and Saturn) they are.. where there weren't; they are most like Akklaim or DOCs controllers. I have a Wavebird for the GCN, two AirStyles for the PS2, and two Wideyes for the Xbox. Notable novelty controllers/joysticks of note are a PSX twin-analog joystick, a Saturn twinstick and of course.. the Steel Battalion controller for Xbox. Other things that come to mind are a DK64 Nintendo Power controller; a RE4 GCN chainsaw controller (unopened); a black (matches my GCN and GBA player) HORI controller (unopened) for the GBA player, a NubyTech Shadow the Hedgehog PS2 controller and a NubyTech Mega Man GCN controller (both new). A Drogon Quest VIII blue slime controller, unopened. I have guns for all systems that had them (including a 3DO gamegun and a black JAP Virtua Gun/Stunner for the Saturns). I EVEN have black & white Sony memory cards and digital controllers for the PSX (to match the PS2 and my PSOne.. of course!).

That's about all I can think of that's notable right now. I'm sure there's more that I haven't thought of (I have yet to make a comprehensive list; but I'm working on it).

I apologize for the long read guys.. but this is a serious inquiry. I certainly don't expect anyone to do all the leg work for me and add up individual prices either.. obviously. I need some serious ballpark estimates for what one thinks this lot would go for on evilBay. Should I have a reserve AND a BIN? for how much? I can't simply start a lot auction at 99 cents though.. because I have invested much money and time amassing all of this and can't risk taking that kind of chance. So I need good, solid, honest opinions. How much? and HOW.. to list it.

I know the IGN quote for value for the games is a bit much. When IGN changed their lists format about 6 months ago.. my value doubled overnight! While I thought $13,000 was a bit low.. I'm also certain $30,000 is a bit much. Please bear in mind though the "completeness" of most of them.

My heartfelt thanks go out to anyone who can help me out here.. but please no "I think you should sell it all to me for $500!" type posts. This is a serious situation for me.. regretable.. but inevitable. $2500 would get me out of debt; and I'm figuring that another $7500 to $10,000 would get me a fairly decent 26' to 30' used travel trailer and a pick-up to haul it with. Then I'd be free to get the fuck outta' Dodge and start a life of my own (Oh gawd.. how I NEED that). Anything else beyond that would be icing on the cake and maybe help me settle, or furnish the trailer (I need a nice TV). The time is now.. and I really need to do this.

ANY honest, qualified advice would be appreciated. I basically need to know if it's even "do-able".. or a pipe dream. Thanks all.

BTW.. you can sort the IGN game list, by platform, by clicking on the appropriate column heading.. makes things a little easier. ;)

Almost forgot!.. strategy guides:

D&D-Warriors of the Eternal Sun (GENS)
Lion King (all platforms)
Breath of fire (SNES)
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Secret of Evermore (SNES)
Secret of Mana (SNES)
Breath of Fire III (PSX)
Critical Depth (PSX)
Ghost in the Shell (PSX)
Mega Man Legends (PSX)
Treasures of the Deep (PSX)
Vanguard Bandits (PSX-shrinkwrapped)
Megaman X Command Mission (GCN & PS2)
Battle Engine Aquila (PS2 & Xbox)
Final Fantasy X (PS2)
Front Mission 4 (PS2)
Mobile Suit Gundam Zeonic Front (PS2)
Star Ocean Till the End of Time (PS2)
Xenosaga I (PS2)
Xenosaga II (PS2-bonus boxed collecto's edtn)
Zone of the Enders (PS2)

.. also have mint copies of the first 4 issues of Next Generation magazine

Harvest Moon Cow plush
KK Slider Animal Crossing plush
Pa Rappa-McDonalds JAP plush
Earthworm Jim figurine (boxed)
Magic Knight RayEarth Moko(?) battery-operated figurine

Entire set of unopened Taco Bell N64 toys with gift boxes

DK64 T-Shirt in shrinkwrapped plastic barrel

.. few other schwag items.

I'm not going to give you a dollar amount for something that I'm not willing to take the time to appraise, but if you feel that you have an idea of what it's worth then I can tell you that as one big lot lot it will sell for approximately 25% less than individually unless a "convienience fee" comes into play. Which is basically what happens when people are willing to pay more for something due to the ease (or covienience) of getting everything they are looking for at the same time. You see this most often when sets of things are sold (i.e. PS1 Final Fantasy's, NES Mega Man's, etc...)

So basically if you personally think it's worth 16K I would expect it to end around 12K unless you have more than one person that your lot really caters to, such as a collector that happens to need a lot of what you have, or someone opening up a shop that needs to diversify his stock, whatever the case may be. Hope that helps.

Not much - that's just the European box. I'm not too clued up on Inty stuff, but if it's like other systems, they probably re-used Euro packaging in Canada.

a typical loose cart of Earthworm Jim 2 goes for $6. So, by using Mike Etler's formula for pricing NES games, your copy would be anywhere from 12 to 24. in conclusion, an average price would be $18.00, but rounding it off to fifteen or twenty is also acceptable.

answer my query and you'll get toy story's value (all I can tell you is that it's lower than the first one's).

Can anyone give me the approximate value of a 42-in-1 cart for the NES. I found one today at the thrift store for $2. It's a white cart (one piece) with a wide sticker in the middle with Chinese (maybe?) lettering.

I had never seen one like this before, but I had a 52-in-1 when I was younger that was a two-piece cart with the ribbon.

Thanks for any insight!

Here's a weird one, I have some miscellaneous hardware from the Pokemon Snap Station that used to be in blockbuster. Long story short, Iw orked there about 6 years ago, and was given the PSS when they got rid of it, I gutted it, and snagged the N64 and tv, and my mom threw out the big metal kiosk, and most of the hardware I hadn't finished gutting (including the nintendo branded photo printer)! THis is what I have left, it's not very useful, but assuming that someone was looking for strange pokemon related video gameryt what would this stuff be worth?
We've got a strange PCB with two cart connectors, (the kiosk had snap or stadium in the vertical one, kids would bring their carts and put em into the horizontal one (to print off stickers. and another pcb that has a connector that goes out to an N64 controller port and has a magnetic card reader/writer attached (kids would have to beg their folks to buy them a $5 one-use card that would be read by this thing in order to print pics). and finally we have something, I think it might be a light sensor, no idea where it hooks up though.
pics are at:
http://www.geocities.com/coz_jk/ps.html

Further, in addition to wishing to know what this thing is worth, if anyone has any ideas as to what I could actually DO with this hardware that'd be great.

Your SEALED one would be worth $20-$24 as stated above. The formula in question is the doubling the prices from loose, to complete, to sealed, of common or less desirable games. So if it's $6 loose, than it's $12 complete, and $24 sealed. Again this doesn't always apply, especially when referring to rare or highly sought after games, but it's a pretty good ballpark for a systems library

I have a cart & box copy of P.T.O. II for SNES. The cart is in really nice shape, the label is near-mint except for a tiny bit of sticker residue, and the box is also near-mint. There is no cart tray inside the box (ie: empty box).

Anyone know what a fair price would be to sell this at? It's hard to search for this game due to there also being a Saturn version, as well as some people writing the name PTO, or P.T.O, or P.T.O., and the "two" as 2, II, or two.

Thanks!

The serial number on the side, instead of a SLUS number, is PBPX 95503.

Next to the ESRB rating is "Not for sale."

The back of the box is the same, except for under the descriptors, there's a white box that says "3-070-939-01(2) It sounds like a European phone number, but it's an NTSC North American release.

I got this for Christmas a few years ago. My mom found it in the bargain bin at a GameStop for $5.00 used.

Anybody have an idea of what a SEALED Namco Museum 64 (obviously for the N64) is worth? eBay is full of loose carts, hardly any completes and not a single new copy (looked in complete auctions too).

I have many of the Pokemon Colosseum demo discs. I saw on EBAY they go for $30-40 sealed. Is that about right?

I also have these... completely mint condition and the game is sealed. How much could I get for those?

Also, how much does a sealed FFT (non-GH) game go for?

damn, everything from atlus sells like crazy. In a more expert opinion, I'd say $100-$150, though $110 would seem like the target price.

Anyone have a clue on a value for the PS Lunar Silver Star Story Demo disk? There isn't a value listed in the guide. I'm picking one up next week and want to make sure that I'm not paying too much.

I just sold a non-sealed first run FFT on eBay for $27. They can go for around $40 if you're lucky. I'd dare say that a sealed one could cost, oh, $75?

This isn't gaming related but does anyone know how much the first volume of LIFE magazine is worth? It was released in 1936 and looks like this (but hardback instead of soft like the pic):

I actually have all of the really old ones (not sure on all the dates; will have to dig out of the attic) including this one that I'm thinking of selling.

I possibly have a mint/complete Dragon Warrior 3 on the way, and wanted to know the value of my DW3 cart and manual. The cart is mint and the manual has a rough cover but the inside is perfect. Pics are below.

I was hoping this is worth $35-$40 so that I could recoup some of the $ spent on the complete copy. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,
Carl

Worth of a NCAA Basketball Not For Sale Demo cart for the SNES?

5-10 bucks. Pretty common. People usually pay around the starting bid on Ebay. If its 10 bucks usually 10 bucks is what it ends at, but there might be a couple of bidders at 5 bucks.

Alright,

Found a sealed "Daimakaimura" at the goodwill last week. (ref. to finds thread pg 3.) for the super grafx.

too busy to get a camera and post pics (school!school!school!), but i was wondering on a price.

The top part of the seam is starting to split a little, but in otherwords excellent condition!

Thanks!

Oddysey2 CIB at the flea market. Seller wanted $5. I don't really want it but would like to know about how much it goes for; maybe I'll resell it, I dunno. Thoughts?

I would pay $5 for any CIB console ever made without even thinking about it. Even if it's busted there are probably parts or goodies that are worth something. The box itself is probably worth that much. Plus it's good trade bait.

What would you consider a fair price for the following Xbox 360 lot? I'm looking to sell it locally to co-workers/friends/etc, but I don't want to rip anyone off, nor do I want to get shafted.

The lot would include:

Xbox 360 Premium
2 wireless controllers
dvd media remote
3 games (Kameo, Perfect Dark, and Quake 4)
as well as all of the promotional items that I got with it (as I won it in the doritos\pepsi contest) Those items would include the carrying case (big aluminum one) as well as a t-shirt, pens, buttons, coasters, etc...

Is $500 Canadian fair?

I'm just interested. I know it's quite worthless open, but what would a sealed Kings Field: The Ancient City be worth? I paid about $15 from Kmart.

I would price it around 6-700 if it were me. The promotional items bump it up in my opinion.

I have some PAL NES games & am trying to come up with a deal for someone. I have Donkey Kong, Ice Climber and Megaman all boxed & in nice condition. DK & Ice Climber are both Black box games.

Please could someone suggest how much I should ask for? I havea bunch of other NES stuff on eBay just now with seriously inflated prices!

Any help would be great :)

PS sorry for making a new post, didnt know this existed, guess i need to read the guidelines!

Even an NGage? LOL

If the thing is still there next week I'll consider buying it. The box was in okay shape but it was sealed with brown plastic tape. :(

If possible I would like this nice little, simple price check before monday.

I am selling this stuff to someone:

Ecco the Dolphin-Genesis - loose cart
Exodus : Journey to the Promised Land-NES- Loose cart
and possibly...Quake 3 Arena - DC- Sealed

How much should the price be? If possible can I get a price with and without the Quake 3 Arena?

Thanks
Dave

What is copy of Final Fantasy 7 PC worth? Complete in box. There doesn't seem to be much listed on eBay (with the exception of a bunch of Singapore!)

I bought this on the day it came out back in 1998 for $64.99 Canadian (I even have the original sales reciept in the box!)

Just wondering if people go crazy with prices for this version as they do with the PSX versions.

Thanks!
