Went to the flea today. Not much, but at least there was something.
Sears 2600 was 15. Then he threw in the games. Then he threw in the electronic science kit thing. Then I said you wanna get rid of those Sega CD games. Then he threw the Sega CD games in. All for 15. And of course he thought the jakks pacific game thing was a controller so I got that too.

Donkey Kong guide for a dollar.

If anyone wants that electronic science kit thing you can have it.

Flea Market Finds:

- Parasite Eve almost complete (missing the Square demo disc) for $4

- Gaiares, boxed for $2

- PS1 system, power cord, controller, and Konami Justifier for $10. All I wanted was the Justifier, but the vendor would only sell the lot as is. At $25, I said no thanks and began to leave. He then lowered it to $10. I decided to take that offer up. The Justifier is mine and the system goes to a friend of mine who split the cost with me.

Retail Buys:

- Best Buy finally got Classic Action: Devilish in! Snatched the last copy up for $19.99

- My favorite local game store chain Game Craze had Magical Starsign for $19.99 new, and to my luck, had a new copy of Double Dragon Advance, also $19.99.

I think everything is there, but I'm not sure. The only thing I know is missing is the AC adapter, but it runs on batteries too, so I don't really need it. It also has 2 things that look like microphones, but I can't find a place to plug them in, so I'm not even sure if they go with it, anyone know? Also, does anyone know the value on something like this? I paid a dollar for everything, so I figured it had to be worth at least that.

Also picked up an NES game holder (holds 21 games) for a buck.

Well I've picked up a few more things I was looking for in the past couple of days.

I got a copy of NiGHTS into Dreams (Not for Resale) in original jewel case for $5 from a pawn shop in the middle of no where.

Then at one Game X Change I picked up another slim controller, a 3D Analog controller and a complete Virtua Fighter II for $20.

At another Game X Change I got a complete copy with just a slightly cracked case of Clockwork Knight for $4.

It's a shame none of the stores around here stock more Saturn goodies, so off to eBay I go I suppose.

I've been looking for the Dragon Quest blue slime controller for awhile. I know I could probably get one on Ebay...but what's the fun in that? I found this one at the small Gamecrazy near my old hometown. My wife and I were up there visiting for the weekend and I had some time Sunday morning to look around.

The Dreamcast game brings my collection to 148. Only around 100 to go.

Quick story, I go garage saling and junking each weekend to find the unusual of video games and other things I collect.
Last 3 weeks:
3 weeks ago: 1 Nintendo in a box with Power Glove (works) Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Contra and various other games. $15. 2 more NES's worked $20
2 weeks ago: 2 NES and 1 SNES for $40. What was in the box was Action 52, Mike Tyson Punch Out, Lethal Enforcers with gun. At goodwill: Final Fantasy 7 black label and Parasite Eve black label both complete both $6 each.
This week. Sega Genesis 1 in box, various normal games for it. Then tons of betamax tapes. I'll post more when I find more.

2 thrift store finds today... thrifts usually are strike-outs for me.
1. Alone in the Dark - Mac 1.80
2. Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disk, Sealed - 5.80.
and it was 25% off day so it was really only $6 for both.

The Pokemon thing I had in my hand as I looked around this morning, then I put it back and left since that is more than I normally spend on something I don't know about and collect. Anyway it was still there this afternoon (but had migrated) when I went back for it, since it is only 5 min. away. Probably for sale if anyone is interested. Or will I wish I kept it? I haven't played anything Pokemon yet, but I have a bunch of them lined up, so I'm guessing I'll get addicted.

I'd hang onto it... the Colosseum Bonus Disc that is. It frequently fetches at least double what you paid for it, and is very desireable, since it's the only way to obtain a certain Pokemon (through GBA linkup)

Congrats on the Sega Genesis/CD combo pickup! If you need Sonic CD, let me know, as I have a copy available, but no Sega CD.

@ Cornelius - the Pokemon Colosseum bonus disc allows you to insert Jirachi (at level 5, but worth leveling up) into copies of Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire (one per game, also fixes an internal clock bug). I opened my bonus disc, and am offering Jirachi to DPers looking to complete their Pokedexes (those looking to profit from the event Pokemon need not apply).

I'm back from my week long vacation in Japan (and over the jet-lag) so I figured I'd post pictures of the games I bought. It was really hard not spending my entire vacation budget in one shot, but I did pick up some nice items.

I've always really wanted a Famicom disk system, and had every intention of coming back with one. I was hard pressed to get an original Famicom with the disk system, or just get a Twin Famicom. All the loose Famicoms at Super Potato came without the AC, but they sold new AC adapters for ¥3,000. :o So I decided to just go ahead and get a Twin Famicom. I've been a sucker for combo systems ever since picking up an X'Eye anyway.

http://members.buckeye-express.com/schnuth/japan-game-haul.jpg

From Super Potato (http://www.superpotato.com/) in Akihabara I got:

Twin Famicom system (¥10,290)
Super Mario Brothers 2 (disk system) (¥2,604)
Legend Of Zelda (disk system) (¥2,079)
Legend Of Zelda 2 (disk system) (¥1,764)
Castlevania (disk system) (¥2,079)
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (loose) (¥609)
Fire Emblem (loose) (¥819)
Transformers: Mystery Of Comvoy (loose) (¥924)
Takeshi no Chousenjou (Takeshi's Challenge) (loose) (¥1449)
Akumajō Dracula X Chi no Rondo (complete, no spine card) (¥10,290)

Dracula X cost just as much as the Twin Famicom but it was worth it. I just couldn't pass it up being face to face with it. I don't even have a Duo, but seriously thought about getting one of the several they had at Super Potato for ¥18,XXX. Good thing there is Magic Engine. :) It was also hard passing up a solitary WonderMega for the same price.

From Mandarake Galaxy in Nakano Broadway I got:

Puyo Puyo (disk system w/manual) (¥3,675)
a Go game (disk system) (¥420)
Patlabor (disk system) (¥2,100)
Dirty Pair: Project Eden (disk system) (¥1,575)
Akumajou Densetsu (Castlevania 3) (complete, box a little beat up, still has original price tag of ¥6,500) (¥2,940)

Some other game shop in Nakano whose name I can't remember off hand:

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (¥4,280)

A little much to pay for Puyo Puyo I know. But I'm such a nerd for the series I couldn't pass it up. Plus I got outbid twice before for the same thing without instructions on eBay.

If you ever get the chance to check out the Super Potato store in Akihabara, it's truly amazing. The store spans three floors (the top one being an arcade) and is packed with games. They even had two Japanese Vectrex systems for sale as well for some ludicrous price. I obviously didn't buy one, but they were awesome to see in person. It was also a trip to look through the display cases of all the super rare games you see on eBay, but all in the same spot.

All prices include sale tax as well.

After I got back I picked up the following:

http://members.buckeye-express.com/schnuth/game-haul.jpg

SNES game and system holder $5.00 (Used CD/game store)
Combat Cars Genesis (complete) $1.99 at the thrift
Mario Party 2 N64 (loose) .99 cents at the thrift

Been awhile since the thrifts have been fruitful, and the price was right for Mario Party.

Some Nintendo love today:
SNES:
SimEarth (L - $1)
NES:
Tetris 2 (L - $1)
Yo! Noid (L - $2)
Popeye (L - $1)
Shooting Range (L - $1)
Batman (L - $1)

I'm planning on trading my now second copy of Tetris 2 and maybe another NES game or two for Puzznic, a find a friend had awhile ago. I still can't believe he got Puzznic and I'm struggling to find it again, and he's buckling down on it due to the "rarity"; maybe he needs to look at eBay.

Puzznic isn't rare... around here, it's a $5 game, and there is at least one copy at each local store... your mileage may vary though.

From Book Broker:

Slayers novels 1-4 (gently used, good enough for work reading): $3 each
Pokemon Sapphire (cart only): $8

and one of my friends snagged a nice bunch of complete Genesis games - highlights are Grind Stormer, Fire Shark, and Rolling Thunder 3... a little cheaper than ebay, but without the wait.

I got these at Goodwill this evening:

SNES:
Bonkers (cart only)
Congo's Caper (cart only)
Super James Pond (cart only)

$1.99 each. They all have stickers from the same video rental place too, and each game has a number written under the front label. Bonkers is A416, Congo's Caper is 431 (wonder why there's no "A" here?), and Super James Pond is A343.

Finds, copy+paste from GameSpy Forums:

Today I went back to Ze Thrift because I saw a copy of Silent Service II, and after checking discovered it would be well worth my while to pick it up. These games are essentially brand new, in fact, one still has the discs wrapped up (The 11th Hour, sequel to The 7th Guest; has an awesome little green case thing, very nice).

F-15 Strike Eagle II. Not sure if it's worth a thing, but it's a legendary title. Picked it up just because.

Baldur's Gate - I've played a little bit of this on GameTap. Combat seemed unwieldy but it was still alright.

Silent Service II - wow, it even has a keyboard overlay. Awesome.

Might & Magic: Darkside of Xeen (M&M V). Believe it or not, installment 5 was in 1993.

The 11th Hour - sequel to The 7th Guest. Corny looking cover with gears, fake worms and severed doll heads, but inside is a nifty green bound book-thing for the CDs. No idea how it plays yet.

Mechwarrior II. Man, this looks worse than I remembered. Oh well.

There were also some titles I had to leave behind. Might & Magic is missing at least one floppy, so I have to go back. They had a few other titles, including a boxed Riven with a strategy guide. Might go for that - it's not perfect shape but I always wanted that version.

Total: $26.65. Kinda spendy but Silent Service II alone is worth it.

Picked up Taito Legends 2 and Taito Legends Power-Up while at GameStop.

I got Taito Legends II at Gamestop for $20 and Art of Fighting Anthology at Toys R Us for $15. I haven't been able to find Taito Legends Power-Up yet, but I have the import, so it's all good.

This morning, I went to 6 yard sales and all I found were a GC/GBA link cable and a Gamestop-brand bag for a handheld system - total: 75 cents.

I'm hoping I will fare better at the Gamestop sale that starts this morning...

Slate - How'd you get it for 10c? For whoever's selling it, the process of taking a dime and putting it in their pocket costs them 10c of their life.

I found it in goodwill. It was marked at $2, But thank goodwill for their discounts. :)

Edit: I just looked it up in the ORG. I didn't think that the web browser was worth anything.

Arrived in the mail today:

Tony Hawk's Project 8 (PS2)- $9.99 plus shipping, about $13 total. Got it off of Amazon.com.

This past Monday I received:

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix (Xbox): $5.75 plus shipping, about $6/$7 total. (Amazon.com)

Both games came in extremely good condition, especially for being labeled as "Used". Midnight Club 3 was practically new, as the game disc was nearly scratchless. THP8 came in today, and, again, aside from the manual being slightly torn, the game disc was in excellent condition. :)

All the vendors I know upped thier SNES, NES,N64 systems to $45.00 ...and they can shove them up thier.....:ass: ....now.
They show me them ,tell me the price, like I'm going to jump on it,.. then when I say no they look at me like I did somethig wrong to them..

$65.00 for Loose Purple Gamecube deck...What the heck is going on(?)and the guy sells gaming stuff all the time.

Genny DinoLand Complete $3.00
One of many Genny boxed games just this one caught my eye.

SNES Plug $2.00
NES.Plug.$1.00..I bought two and I think I left one in my dads car...or lost that sucker.,
The Official Nintendo Players Guide $3.00
SMB 3 $3.00
Barker Bill's Trick Shooting $3.00
Mega Man 4 $3.00
Toxic Crusaders $3.00
Final Fantasy $3.00

The vendors box of NES games were uncommon titles(uncommon to my finds there) but I could not afford to buy them all for $3.00 each, and he would no haggle.

INTEC PLAYSTATION 2 PORTABLE LCD SCREEN..$15.00
FEATURING RCA, S-VIDEO, AV MULTI-OUT, STEREO SPEAKERS AND A 5.5 INCH LCD SCREEN(without PS2 pictured)

Ok,when I bought this from the vendor for that price I figured it's gotta be broke as he's usually high priced for junk..
As soon as I got home I hooked it up and it Works great.(it goes pretty loud)...I can basically plug any av game system into this..
I don't really need this, but I'll come in handy for my Son at the track when I go Pocketbike Racing..

Dads(some of what he bought..

Metal Mini Slot machine...$10.00
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Pocket%20Bikes/SNESMAYAuctionPics013.jpg

Bachman Train set $15.00-came with tracks, transformer and paperwork..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Pocket%20Bikes/SNESMAYAuctionPics014.jpg
When I found this I thought the price would be atleast $50.00 as the train itself looks very vintage.
(we hooked it up at home to see if it worked/like too little kids)

I sure wish I knew about Comic Book values as I saw(overheard) a few people finding valuable comic books..

Gameboy:
Boxxle (L)

Yeah... there's always that one game that you can't find where you are.... but I might be able to. (or vice versa ^^; )

Just like in my last post here... having a visitor for the weekend, and he plundered the Wall of Genesis at Book Broker. 12 complete (good) games - about $120, and he might have gotten all the domestically released shooters now.

Went to OMGCon (anime convention in Paducah, KY - not too big, not too small... I thought it was just right), and got some cool stuff:

Lina Inverse plushie! (the smartass sorceress from The Slayers, and a personal role model): $20 (ouch)

Luigi plushie: $7

Super Mushroom plushie keychain: $3

"handheld" by Robert DeJesus (autographed art portfolio, has Animal Crossing, Zelda, Phoenix Wright artwork): $7

being ganged upon by a bunch of damn teenagers for the second time at a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament :bullshit: : free

getting to take the day off to spend in a crowded hotel with two great friends and buy them a buncha crap: priceless (ok, $20)

very tired now... and I didn't take my camera. *sigh*

Gamestop sale:

Traded in one of my original Xbox's. Walked out with:

360 Premium
Gears CE (used, but in perfect condition)
FF 12 CE (new)
DQ 8 (new)

$431 total, including tax. Not bad at all.

[Edit] I just looked over the receipt, and it looks like they forgot to charge me for Gears of War... oops!

Hit the flea market this morning and picked up a couple things. I got a Saturn (Model 1) with cables and controllers for $15 and I picked up a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the DC complete for $3. The jewel case is trash but the manual is in decent shape and the disk is fine. Not a bad day as far as that flea market goes.
