I have always been a fan of the PSP headset. So much that I have wanted to unite it with every single item I use that requires a headset with a mic.

I have just recently gotten my self a Xbox 360 also...

Idea + idea = I want this head set for this system.

So I set out. I popped open a psp headset and yanked the cords off the main ear peice for the right ear peice and the cord normally going to the PSP.

I then opened up the 360 head set and yanked those cords off their contacts.

From there I opened up the housing where the 360's headset plugs into the controller and figured out what went where.
List:
Open Copper (Mic -)
Peach line (Mic +)
Blue line (Speaker +)
Black line (Speaker -)
(Donno if these are commonly understood but heck, there you go.)

And from there I took those cords, and soldered them to where I yanked off the cords on the PSP headset. The nice part was that the solder was still on the PSP headset from when I pulled off the existing cords, so all I had to do was heat and then apply. Pictures should be up later tonight.

And for more 'soddering' tips, be sure to google the proper spelling: solder / soldering ;)
