AES cart door sticks down

I want to sell my AES but before I do, one of the "cart doors" has a tendency to stay down after I pull out a cart unless I pull it alittle and then it springs back up, how do you recommend I go about this?, should I take the top casing of the system off and spray some WD40 or something on the spring...?

I doubt it's the spring. It's probably catching on something, or there is something sticky in there. I'd just open it up and see what's going on. The cart door assembly (which is separate from the upper case) may have been removed & reinstalled improperly.

I wouldn't open it because you'd have to take the sticky back feet off. If you are selling it, I would just sell it as is.

They go right back on with a little contact glue or rubber cement. Do not be afraid of the feet!

its already been modded for s-video, composite, stereo, unibios and an red led, I'll make an attempt later to open it and let you know how it goes unless someone tells me otherwise

If it's modded, open it like a book, with the book 'binding' being your back of the console (where the jacks are). Slow and sure, or you will be resoldering connections.
