I just received a used Thrustmaster Fox 2 Pro Xbox flight stick today in the mail. I tested it out with Crimson Skies but could not get the plane to turn left with the flight stick. It'll turn right, up and down, but not left.

So then I tried it out on another flight game for the Xbox, Airforce Delta Storm. This time I was actually able to VEER the plane left not by pushing the stick in that direction, but by rotating the stick counterclockwise in neutral position. Occasionally, if I left the stick alone (in the middle), the plane would sometimes start to veer left on its own. I would have to compensate by turning right on the stick where it would eventually stabilize.

To get a better idea, I tried it out on Halo to the same results. The character would just start to wonder left on its own.

Then I tried out Star Wars: Battlefront, and it was the same as before: turn right with no problem, but no turning left. Control was more stable with this game than with Halo however.

Anybody have an idea what's going on, and maybe how I can fix it?

I thought you were using a pc model with a xbox usb adapter. Xbox is just funky usb..

If it's broken, you might as well pop the bottom off and see if anything
is loose or broken.

The way a hat switch works, it could be something lodged on the left side
between the contact point.

Yeah, its an Xbox flight stick being played on the Xbox :) Yesterday I took the bottom part off but there doesn't seem to be anything loose in there, so I will be looking next to see if anything is preventing contact on the left side. Thanks for the advice! I'll report back with an update...

Does it function correctly on the pc?

I haven't tried it out on a PC, but after looking at the wires more closely and Thrustmaster's glue job, it looks like a thin wire came undone near the center (where the joystick positions are read I suppose) on a chip with three prongs sticking out of it. There's two of those chips near the center positioned 90 degrees from each other. Hopefully all I've got to do is reattach that thin wire. I say hopefully because I'm hoping I didn't break off that thin wire AFTER fumbling around in there.

Sounds like a solder fracture.
