I have a PowerPak for sale -- comes with a 512MB CF card, the black sleeve, and the USB CF reader. Mint and working condition. I'm selling it for $160 (OBO) plus shipping. Drop me a PM or email if you're interested.

A quick question, something ive always wondered...
Is it possible to rework part of the Famicom Disk System roms to be accepted on the Powerpak? Or is a part of the FDS hardware required?

Most games have to be largely recoded to run natively on an NES or FC without the FDS system. The System wouldn't be able to make sense of certain FDS-only commands and routines and such.

Does anyone here know the difference between the sold-out PowerPak 512MB Bundle and the still-available PowerPak Lite with the USB CopyNES on retrousb.com, other than how much space they hold?

You need a CopyNES for the PowerPak Lite. If you don't know the difference, you probably don't want the PowerPak Lite.

I wonder if they should be doing a waiting list? Something which would also prevent people from ordering more than one.

Just recently obtained my Powerpak and I've been tinkering with it ever since. I've already sorted and uploaded a NA and EU set onto it, and I've finally gotten good results with the FDS functionality. I've yet to test the NSF player out of lack of interest, but will get around to it eventually.

Sad, but one of the things holding me back from buying an iPhone (besides the fact that a 32GB version isn't out yet) is that there is no nsf app for it yet. It's one of the most important parts of my music collection! :)

I don't care for the price. I have strong limits as to what I'll pay to bootleg anything. I'll wait and see if some other manufacturers come out with similar for a cheaper price. When DS flash cards are $10 apiece, yes, I do see $130 or more for any flash device as highly excessive.

I also don't care for the rude "I only take Paypal" attitude of the guy. I wanted to order the SNES to Gamecube adaptor but they clearly state "no money orders", when they also state that it can take 5 business days to ship. Its that kind of attitude that kills my desire to shop somewhere, only taking 1 payment method and that's Paypal. Paypal is an evil company. I had to buy a Hori Gamecube controller off Amazon for $50 as I had no other choice in the matter, so they lost my business.

Take money orders or direct credit card processing. You only want Paypal I don't deal with you.

Yes it is expensive. DS flash carts are made by the millions, and have far less electronics inside. A $0.10 profit margin is far more money than the PowerPak will ever see. $10 doesn't even cover the FPGA inside the PowerPak so anything close to that will simply not happen. Price may lower in the future but production will never be high enough for a large drop. Quantity discounts don't really take effect until the thousands of units. It is still easily in the range of all other flash carts for classic systems.

Credit cards have always been accepted, however the credit card processing is done by PayPal so that doesn't avoid the evilness. When money orders were accepted there were just too many customer service nightmares.
