Rumor: Hitman film trailer premiering with Die Hard [Joystiq]

A trailer for the film adaptation of Hitman (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hitman/) will be shown in the previews preceding Live Free or Die Hard, opening this Wednesday, according to reputable film site ComingSoon.net (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=21160). The movie, starring Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, began filming (http://movies.ign.com/articles/777/777794p1.html) on March 27.

No official confirmation has been made from distributor Twentieth Century Fox, but the action-packed Bruce Willis vehicle would be a perfect fit for the trailer and is also distributed by Fox. If true, look for the teaser to find its way on the internet likely by Wednesday afternoon.

ugh... tim olyphant is such a bad actor for the role... vin diesel would be even worse though (he passed in favor of Babylon A.D. i believe).

Eh yeah, the guy looks totally wrong for the part. There was a full frontal pic of him in the 47 getup that leaked a little while back, and it looked like bad cosplay. He seems much too young for the role.

That said, if he can get the character of 47 down, that's really all that matters. So I'm still a bit anxious to see this trailer and some footage of him actually being 47 before condemning it.

Still, I do feel bad for the dude who does his voice in the games. He would've been perfect, and was apparently campaigning pretty hard to get the role. Shame he lost it.

thats exactly what i thought before i even read your post. he can do the look and it's really his kind of movie.
i definitely don't want to see the guy from Scream 2 playing Agent 47

So, do we reckon we'll have another bad game-based movie? I hope not, the Hitman story could work well... or it could turn into another generic action film. :(
