Sounds like a good idea.. I'll try and make it to the OKCCC Retro/New game event. Maybe it will be a good catalyst to more planning and ideas. Anytime it is on the south side I'm usually good at making it there. Free is always the best too, hehe. I'm all for paying to enter too.. Just NOT more than $7, coz anything $10 or over to get in makes me kinda expect something like a freebie, game discount, miniature, gift or goodie bag o' swag. lol
BTW I read somewhere on the internets today they're going to remake the Short Circuit robot.. I dunno if it will be for another movie or whatnot, but that would be cool.

Maybe that's why they sold the old one.

I dunno.. possibly.. I think playing retro games, (like one of my all time faves, pac man & pac man plus) is totally rad lol with 80's music or movie in the background... I mean, come'on.. how many times have you been playing something and St. Elmo's Fire, Pat Benetar or some other song pops on the radio and WHAM. Super Spicy Nostalgia Moment :)

Heads up, guys. I'm going to plan something for April 26th. It will be after the gaming show at OCCC. We'll hit the game show at OCCC, head out for dinner together around 5PM, and probably hit Flacks house for some arcade action in his garage/arcade. More details soon.

Sounds pretty cool... I dunno where we're going as long as there'z good games, good bier, good times I'm there.. hehe We need a party flier just in case I've had a few too many I might need a ride there & home.. roflmao.. just kidding.. But seriously, gas for me is a luxury I can't really afford, so I'm glad everyone is getting the word out and little by little hopefully we can revive the scene around here a bit.. It sounds fun!

I was thinking that maybe people from the board could print up nametags or something so that everyone could figure out who everyone else was. I have no idea if anyone else is going to like the idea but, if people do, I'm willing to make up a template for the nametag (DP themed and all). :)

nametags would be good idea.
Anyone have any idea how many vendors there might be?

Do you work at the Vintage Stock in Moore? I just picked up a Terminator 2 there a few weeks ago. It was only $3 and, to me, anything cool for $3 is on auto-buy.

The only reason I haven't posted my address yet is I'm worried people will show up before we're done eating and I get there. If anyone can help me brainstorm this issue, I'm all ears.
I live in Yukon, five or six miles straight west of Fire Mountain on I-40.

If people aren't able to make it to the show then we'll just consider the dinner to be the last chance to join in. Other than that, one of us can post our number in here. I'd post mine now but I'm not even sure if I'll be able to make it. I should know by this weekend whether or not I'll be working.

It's official. I am working that night so I won't be able to make it to dinner or Flack's this time. I may be at OEGE in the morning though.
So, someone needs to take charge of the get-together. Any takers?

To make things less confusing, I made a new thread with all the info for the game night. Sorry to hear you can't make it -- I had Metal Slug all ready, waiting for you!!

I hope you have a good time. I always show up to these things hoping to meet a DP'er.
Hey, guys? Why don't you go out of your way to meet one another? Someone mentioned nametags, I think it would be a good idea. If you run into someone with a DP nametag and you don't already know them, I challenge you to introduce yourself. Nothing is worse than getting together and nobody having the balls to say hello.

Just a small bump.. I posted something similar to this in another thread.. I'm hoping if any/all events happening in OKC are going on over the remainder of this Spring/early Summer will get posted here. I figure everyone may be neck-deep in GTA 4 action, and may not be into other gaming.. But, I'm done on GTA4 for a little while.. So, since my xbox live gold has run out (which I didn't use much anyways) I'm hoping someone may have some informal tourney's, 1-vs-1, or 4-vs-4 fighting tourneys, pinball, get togethers (even just watching some comedy or MST3K or such.. just chit chat and gaming is cool too).. Pass 'em along and hopefully some more fun can be had before Summer Break.. Take care

P.S. I just noticed this today, OGVE will return in August. Check out the link here (http://forum.okcoin-op.com/index.php?topic=1746.msg10770).

Gas prices being what they are, I'm holding out for OVGE in early August.
I should, however, take this opportunity to point out that while I may be holding out for OVGE, there is no truth to the rumor that I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.

I just drove to Arkansas. Gas was a killer. I had to go do my Full Throttle thing at the Walmart Shareholders Convention. Man, Arkansas was awesome! I wouldn't mind living up there.
p.s. Does he have to be strong, fast, and fresh from the fight?

Yeah. I had our truck set up right across from West Coast Choppers. We gave away Full Throttle one day and Nestea the next. I took some cases of Full Throttle to the Panasonic guys...and look at what they let me do (They were very cool.):

I'd like to host something one of these days. (Soon.) 24 hours of gaming.
Sitting down? Play on a console.
Standing by the grill? Play on a handheld.
Walking to the fridge? Handheld.
Sleeping? We don't sleep...just game.
24 hours. All compressed into a time-lapse video to share on DP.
Anybody interested?

Hey guys,
Add me to the list of Oklahoma Events as well. I had the pleasure of attending OVGE this past year, and meeting a lot of cool people, and hope we can grow this group of oklahoma Gamers. I'm new to the Digital Press Forums, but definetly not new to the art of gaming :)
I'm in Oklahoma City, so, I'm available to do whatever for the most part...

I'd even be willing to help organize the thing, though it cant be held at my place. I have a very, very small house. And frankly, I don't all that many games that many people would enjoy. I collect mostly obscure, strange games.
Surely theres 2-3 of us that'd be willing to do something.. Anyone?
