Does anyone remember an old company called Play It Again that sold used videogames around the late '80s and early '90s? They were a mail order operation that had a good selection of Atari games and sent out game lists via snail mail. I'm trying to find any info about the company (specifically I'm trying to find scans of any of their old game and price lists).

Someone out there *must* have bought from them other than me. Unless I'm remembering the name wrong...

Please help,

Matt Kain

I remember them alright. At least had ads in Game Player's and VG&CE. I've never ordered from them, though. Back then for used games I went through BRE Software and for computer games I went through Chips n' Bits.

I've got the mags with the ads in them so if no one beats me to it I'll scan one this weekend.

Thanks in advance. I've been searching through my paltry collection of mags, but to no avail (most of my stuff is too early). A scan would be greatly appreciated. I knew someone out there must remember them.

I used to buy from BRE as well, but for some reason I used Play It Again the most. They used to send out full page lists with all the games they had for sale. Back in the late '80s (when most of the big mags were covering NES and before the days of Digital Press and the 2600 Connection) I used their 2600 lists as a starting point for finding out about some of the more obscure games that were available ("A Robin Hood game? No way!").

YoshiM, thanks again for helping me out.

I remember sending them SASE's for their lists from seeing their ad in Boy's Life magazine. As someone else mentioned it was cool to see all the different Atari games that I had no idea existed. But being 12 years old I didn't have any money to place orders from them. I still wish I had those lists though since they were cool to look at. I'd try to imagine what some of these games I never heard of were like from their titles. :) It was the first time I realized you could buy a used NES or SMS.
