Currently with myself buying groups of games from ebay and flea markets I end up with quite a few doubles over time and that got me thinking back on what my first was and how I ended up getting doubles back when I was a kid and it was unheard of to have multiple copies of a game. My first was Sonic 2. I already had a copy for Genesis when I went to Florida for the Blockbuster championships in '94 and they ended up giving Sonic 2 for free with a bag of random video game and promo stuff they gave you for making it that far. I did find it kind of odd though since the contest to get there featured Sonic 3 and then they go and give you Sonic 2.

Burgertime on INTV. My dad wanted a back-up copy incase something went wrong with that first one and they were no longer being made. This was early in VG history so there was no way to know when these things would go away. Even worse, there was no internet. Finding another copy would have involved making many many phone calls.

Probably Super Mario World, I brought a SNES system and that was the pack in game, then that same Christmas I got given it for a present.

Sonic 2 for me as well. My dad bought me a bunch of Genesis' at the flea market for some reason and I ended up with multiple Sonic 2's.

If you count slight remakes, I got two at the same time. I already had Mario 1 and 3 on the NES, so when I got the All-Stars cart on the SNES, I had duplicates.

Otherwise, I got a Super Mario only cart some years after I got the pack in SMB/Duck Hunt cart just for the hell of it.

It's actually the first actual Game cart I ever owned ..and then I got two more as gifts.

Easy, that would be Super Mario Bros. \ Duck Hunt (Had about 4 or 5 at one time, just one now)

For 2600, I kept inheriting peoples 2600 games, and I think I had like 4 Ventures

Definitely a Saturn title, circa 2001, because that's the year I began my "diehard" phrase where one could label me a gamer-collector, instead of purely just gamer.

I'm guessing my first double was either Daytona USA, or World Series Baseball II. At one point, I had like 3 or 4 copies of Daytona USA, lol
