Nice collection, but get back to us after you have actually played all of those for more than 5 minutes each.

Someone has to ask/say that at least once an RPG topic don't they?
I'll get there someday, I actually don't know how many RPGs on the PS1 I have. Although I'm sure its about 30-40.
I have to do the reorganizing bit, and procrastinating.
Very nice though.

So you're saying just because it's her complete RPG collection then she hasn't played them more than 5 minutes each? 81 is not a big number. I have more than 81 different PSX games(100+) with about 60-70 of them RPG titles and I've beaten almost all of them.

I finally caved and bought Legacy of Kain. Didn't hurt that it was only $15 too.

Legacy of Kain is a fun title actually.

Hey since you like borderline RPGs as well, maybe now you'll want to get Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Legacy of Kain: Defiance which should all be cheap...
The Playstation 2 Kain games are superior to the original two when it comes to detailed story with plot twists (& graphics of course...). I played that series from beginning to end and it was an entertaining experience, even though I did use a walkthrough. Part of the fun is really getting into the story and trying to understand the time paradox.
The two Playstation Might & Magic games are a bit like Soul Reaver in some ways. Crusaders of Might & Magic and Warriors of Might & Magic. Pretty much adventures set in an RPG-like world and are spinoffs of original RPGs. They were really cheap on Amazon.com too.
Some people also consider that Yu-Gi-Oh! game for Playstation an RPG as well, but it's card based so it's only as much of an RPG as the Playstation Magic: The Gathering game.

Congratulations! I have an aspiration for a personally complete set of Dreamcast games (will be about 90 of the games when I'm done). Always good to see these desire collections completed.

Agreed. Focused collections are a lot more interesting than fullsets. No garbage sports and licensed games watering down the collection and taking up space just for the sake of having them.

Yeah I have that too, but after playing it I decided it was so not an RPG and it never made it's way onto my collection list. Good news is I was only out $5.

I knew there were quite a few RPGs for the PS1 but didn't think they had quite that many. I think I own all of three for the system (FF: Anthology, FF: Tactics, and Persona 2). Don't think I'd ever be able to have the patience to collect all of them. Congrats on the completion. I hope to, someday, complete some sort of collection like that (I'm thinking Puzzlers for the orginal GB, CIB).

Nice collection Daria but you overlooked Point Blank unless I'm blind. I know it is a lightgun game but the ps1 port added an rpg mode as an extra.
My rpg collection is quite small in comparision to the amount of ps1 games I have.

I have to say I've never heard anyone refer to Point Blank as an RPG before. I tried researching some videos but couldn't find anything on this RPG mode you mentioned. Do you have any more information on it?

When you start up Point Blank you have options to choose between Arcade and arrange mode, one of things you can select in arrange mode is called Quest. This is the rpg part of the game, you guide the point blank guys in a 2d overworld using the guncon shooting at what part of the screen you want them to walk. It is a simple rpg using the stages of the arcade game as random battles. I'll get a few pictures in a minute.
Edit - added the pics and I think I remember that you can unlock things in the other modes by playing quest.

I've actually created save points in the three towns and beaten Gobli's Adventure, the default game included in RPG Maker.
If you really want to play games that were already made in RPG Maker 1, 2 and 3, go to this site:
http://www.rpgmpavilion.com/index.php?page=rpgm1games
They have tons of stuff, although I haven't tested any of them yet. I have 60GB PS3 so I can just stick the saves on a flash drive and try them out.
If you want to get into importing any Japanese PS1 RPGs, I recommend the first King's Field, which is a prequel to our first King's Field. You play as John Alfred Forester, who becomes the king in the series. Since the game is not really that language heavy and tasks can easily be figured out with a walkthrough or maps, it is an easy target for broadening your horizon.

I never thought about tracking down RPG Maker home brews before, that's actually a really good idea. I am totally going to do that now.
Kings Field is already on my want list, there's a translation patch out for it. So yeah. I wants it.
