Recently I've been trying to get myself a new sealed copy of Xenogears and FFVII. I've come across the 1st one yesterday on ebay and almost made a bid when I noticed something: there was no holographic sticker at the top of the case. Only a front side pic was provided, so I asked the seller where is that holo sticker and if he could provide a pic of the upper side so I could see the white sticker under the seal.
His answer: "Later in the life of the PlayStation the games did not come with the white sticker under the seal. The corners of the seal have the traditional folds, so you know its not resealed."
Since I'm not from USA I'm a bit confused, cause all brand new PS games I've seen so far had the holographic sticker and the white sticker under the seal with the game name stated and other stuff. So is it really not resealed?
Also I'd be glad if someone could point me where I can find Xenogears and FFVII (GH versions, cause sealed BL cost like 400$) at a considerable price.

That's crap...I'm looking at my factory-sealed BL version of Final Fantasy Origins, which was released in 2003 (very near the end of the ps1 lifecycle) and it has the holographic seal at the top.

I've never seen a PS1 game without the holographic CD Case seal / Sony SLUS barcode. (The white part is part of the sticker.)

If I were you I'd avoid this sale, since I'd venture to guess - while it's probably difficult to find the type of shrink wrap bags with the double end fold seals ... it's NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

This MAY have been a high-end re-seal.

There's enough reason to doubt it in my book.

I have. I bought Skydiving Extreme, and it didn't have a seal.

Alrighty. Well, there you go. :D

Smirk -

I guess since you were posting here about the game, you already know this, but I'll say it anyway, because I hate to see people get scammed on high-ticket items.

Just always be careful when hunting for new, sealed, "collector's interest" games.

The only PlayStation games that I know of that didn't have a seal are the reprints of Persona 2 and Rhapsody. There are definitely sealed GH copies of Xenogears out there, so I'd be suspicious of this as well.

It is possible there are others, as Kitsune Sniper said. I know my Skydiving Extreme had a seal, so I guess it's possible it was printed both ways.

Looks like they re-released this VERY late though. It says Square Enix on it. That means it was 2003 or probably later. Might they have stopped using foil stickers very late in the game? It's possible.

The real question is who cares that much about a fully sealed Greatest Hit? It's like it wins one trivial collector's point and fails on another.
