I found a a Nomad for five bucks (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1336832&postcount=112) this passed weekend. I was hyped, but I couldn't find out how to power the thing up.

A Game Gear AC Adapter later and...

It looks like the screen inside has cracks running all over the place. As a long shot, is there a replacement solution for these screens?

you could always just hook it up directly to the tv...but anyway I'm not sure on fixing it.

You could rig it up to a PSone screen and do a mod - see Benheck.com for details if you are interested.

Theoretically since it outputs composite and RBG you could replace the screen with any that use those. The nomad is 5V btw...so it would probally need to run on 5V as well. It would also need to fit of course.

i see a major opportunity here for a huge screen upgrade. you can use an LCD with an LED backlight mod for longer battery life and the new screen will probably have a better response rate too. just make sure to get something with
at least 320x240 resolution, i beleive that is what the nomad originally had.

Newer screens will more than likely be beter quality too...no more blurries in Sonic and text you can actually read :)
