Telltale finally confirmed to GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6188738.html?tag=topslot;title;1&om_act=convert&om_clk=topslot) that Sam & Max's first season is coming to the Wii this fall. Rumors of Sam & Max bringing their freelance form of policing to the Wii began in early 2007 (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/30/telltale-looking-for-wii-programmer-sam-and-max-far-behind/) and became pseudo-confirmed this January in a German press release (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/13/rumor-sam-and-max-coming-to-the-wii-according-to-german-press-rel/). The game will be a port of the Sam & Max: Season One PC compilation (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/15/the-adventure-company-sends-sam-and-max-back-to-retail/).

Sam & Max for Wii will be published in the US by Dreamcatcher and The Adventure Company. In Europe, JoWood will handle publishing duties of the game, which will have French and German voice acting, with Italian and Spanish subtitles added. No word yet on price for the title, but if it does end up being budget priced (PC was $30), we're very curious to see if this excellent adventure game finds an audience on the Wii.

[Thanks Sam]

Where can I preorder?

you know, when i first read this i was thinking *omg, finally a game i want to play since wiiSports*

however i was thinking about it, and whats the point? its available on the pc on steam (probably for less too)... i mean its a game that doesnt require much (if any) expensive graphics card so the games can easily just be played on the pc... everyone has a pc these days.

im seeing this as more of a advertising move, reach out and inform more gamers that this/these game exists and give them a small taste for the wii, since S&M is mid 2nd season already, most gamers will go on to play/buy them on the pc once they play it on the wii.

Well the PC season costs $29.95, and yeah I finally upgraded my graphics card so the PC version is looking good to me too. But yeah, it's good news for "Point and Click" fans that Sam and Max is getting a console release, maybe the style of game will make a comeback...

Cheers,
Ben

Another Mac user here who's interested in playing this one. I've always been a fan of Sam & Max, from their first comic. I actually bought a few of them to give out to people, I liked it so much. Bought the Mac game, watched the cartoon, and now it looks like I'll have to get a Wii just for this game and Wii Bowling.
