Off the top of my head, maybe you should try asking the neogeo.com forums.

Stay away from Neotropolis/KPJ/KennyBoy, unless you want to pay double what you normally should.

Not sure about the other two, but Neotropolis is a website. Expensive, but they do look nice :)

He's the same dude. Yes, he's around ng.com, but don't worry, being a newbie there the other members will warn you if you plan to buy from him.

If Dean/D-Lite over there is still making them, he's great to work with. I have one running over S-Video on my 720p LCD, it doesn't look horrible, but shelling out a little extra for the component converter board might be worth it.

A Sigma (probably the best supergun from what I hear) just eneded on Ebay for around $320 I believe ($70 above what I wanted to pay, but still cheaper than importing I believe)
yeah i was looking at that. price is more than fine for me, i just dont want that huge thing to be built in joysticks. i want the supergun to be separate from my joysticks, its just not comfortable sitting on the couch w/ all that.

Supergun looks great on my HDTV though more natural on the CRT.
I of course have only one board for it...they seem to sell for more than I anticipated when I bought the supergun and all the connectors (harnasses?) for non-Jamma games (which interest me the most) is confusing and pricing is inconsistent.
I have a consolized MVS unit on the other hand and it's great. It works great with S-Video though the composite connection seems to have an issue...
These are tough items to get accustomed to. Not like plugging in your NES...

i bought a D-lite supergun from Vectorman0 some months ago. it looks really nice through componant on my CRT HDTV.
when i was looking for a SG i decided i wasn't going to settle for anything less the componant. unfortunitly most SG's seem to just have S-video.

Build one. It's not exactly rocket science. At least if you do build it, you'll have a greater understanding of the JAMMA spec and learn something in the process.

Sigma's are bar none the best, but they cost a pretty penny. They run about $100 to ship to the US (slightly more to the UK) so you're looking at close to $500 once it's all said and done for a new AV7000 + 9000TB. You can get a Raijin slightly cheaper (the 2-player kind) but it's rather bulky.
If you can get a current on on Ebay for $320, it's a steal. Get it.

Awful. I would almost say don't even bother.
i do not own any CRTs.
I'd look for a decent RGB monitor (Sony PVM, let's say). The other options is an XRGB-2 with fake scanlines to simulate low res (and not burn out your retinas). That's another $200 or so.
