Doowops
11041 Suite #C57 Beach Blvd
Beach Blvd Flea Market
Jacksonville Florida 32246
Store Hours 9:00AM-5:00PM Saturday and Sunday
Located in the flea market on Beach Blvd. Tons of stuff (plenty of used systems), prices are ok (stay away from the popular games and you will be fine, NES speaking). Big piles of NES games for $5 a pop (not too bad I guess). Plenty of other crap as well (LPs but some of the prices are a joke, etc.). Not too bad but use your head when buying (and it helps to know the common price for the games as well).
Since this is in a flea market it is recommended to look in just about all the booths. I found Bubble Bath Babes and a X'Eye for $20 a pop in there. While the flea market is open seven days a week most of the people will be there on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are in the Daytona Beach area there is:
Video Game Dungeon
2987 Bellevue Ave
Daytona Beach, FL 32124
The store is located in the Daytona Beach Flea market (I think in E-2). Small store with a HUGE selection. NES to modern stuff. Good prices for the most part and they don't overcharge on rare stuff. They always get new stuff in every week so go there often if you can. Since this is also in the flea market there are other game stores in there as well, but the Dungeon is the best. The major rule of thumb is check the whole flea market for good deals (I found some R7s and R8s a couple of times for cheap from different booths/stores). The flea market only opens on Friday/Saturday/Sunday but all three days the flea market is packed. This flea market has a store that only sell hot sauce (mmmmm delicious).

Small store but does have interesting stuff. My friend runs the place and he focus more on fixing and modding systems. His website is http://www.gamecityfl.com/ and if interested in going there please email him first before going in.
Edit: Can anyone add my info to the map?

People's Choice Video Express
2411 Grand Ave, Waukegan, IL 60085
(847) 249-3400
They are a family fun amusement center, they have video sales and rentals, arcades, pizza place and video game sales, the selection and price are pretty sketchy but every now and then they have something good.
CD-DVD-games Warehouse
3717 80th St, Kenosha, WI 53142
(262) 942-9400
I really like this place, they were only a music store for years but now have started carrying DVDs and video games. Since games are new to them their selection is limited so far but it's growing. It's going to be a place to watch for down the road
Trader Jon's
1514 Cedar Lake Rd.
Round Lake Beach, IL 60073
Jon's store is a resale store at heart where he buys just about anything that a pawn shop does but he doesn't do loans, just buying and selling. He does buy just about any video game possible. His selection is small but prices are usually decent. Definitely worth a look.
7 Mile Fair Inc
2720 W 7 Mile Rd, Caledonia, WI 53108
(262) 835-2177
This is a flea market that is open all 52 weekends a year that has several permanent video game stores located within the flea market. Prices vary and selection greatly fluctuates but well worth the visit!
Play 'N Trade

A bit dirty but I never had a problem with the games I brought from them. Huge selection of games (especially SNES) and also has a big LP and used book selection.

Blue Dragon Video Games
727 S. Nova Road
Ormond Beach, FL
386-671-0086
This place has nearly everything, and is huge. I've bought many things here and the owner, Roger, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
Also would like to recommend Game City, and Video Game Dungeon. As their info has already been posted, I'm not going to post it again. If you're ever in the Volusia County area in Florida, any of those three places, as well as the Play N' Trade in Ormond, are must-visits, as well as this place:
Video Game Trader
Corner of Herbert Street and Clyde Morris
Port Orange, FL
386-756-7950
Daytona Beach Flea Market Row G2
386-248-2551
Sanford Flea World Row D, Booths 92-100
407-330-4444
And also one opening in Orange City, however I do not know the info.

Keystone Cards
515 South Keystone Avenue
Sayre, Pa 18840-1529
570-888-6331
more focused on video games than cards anymore, but kept the name. Very reasonably priced. Owner's name is Rich, will talk your ear off about games all day, would probably let you test out anything you want in store if it's not busy.
Granny's Attic
472 West 2nd Street
Elmira, New York 14901
http://grannysatticny.com/
jack's the shit out of their prices. thinks big name games like smb2 and zelda are worth $25 loose, that being said you could probably find some deals on rare games they don't have a clue about, they do have a big collection. last i checked genesis games were practically being handed out.
come on pennsylvania's we're struggling.
i'll add some more when I get the addresses
are we counting pawn or buy/sell shops with decent game selections?

These stores are all owned by the same people and have a huge game inventory. They price their games by the shape the games are in and how complete they are. Prices are pretty high however (example: loose N64 MarioKart is $50). They host free game tournaments during the summers and give out pretty generous prizes though.
Here is a link to their website: http://www.gameovervideogames.com/

It's located at the Columbus Flea Market but is one of the permanent indoor shops at the market. They have a a lot of old mainstream stuff like the NES SNES and Master System but they don't have anything older than the NES really. Maybe the occasional Atari. They also have a bunch of new stuff as well. 3/5
They are open :
Thursday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Sunday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
They also have a store in englishtown flea market, and a table on the outside right before u go into the building itself.
Howcome the map isn't being updated? Such a shame.

GameStar

Covington, GA 30014

The store had excellent prices and great, friendly staff, and games from Atari 2600 to current gen. If you're in the northern Georgia area, it's well worth checking out.

I personally buy most of my games from Play It Trade It, the staff is knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming and the selection is pretty good. If they have a game you're looking for at any store they can send it to any of the other ones for you usually by the end of the day. They also let you put your name down for games if they come in, so that you can pick the game up after they give you a phone call.

The Play N' Trade store in Plano, TX has shut down and the owner moved it to Flower Mound, TX. Address: 1221 Flower Mound Road, Suite 350, Flower Mound, Texas, 75028.
I also came across a game shop in Carrollton, TX called GameChop. Mostly modern gaming with a small amount of post-NES games, mostly Nintendo. It's at 1017 East Trinity Mills Road, Carrollton, TX 75006.
According to the Play N' Trade website, it looks like another location is opening up in Plano sometime soon. I'll have to report back when that one opens its doors.
EDIT: A quick update, the Play N' Trade store in Beaumont, TX has closed down, the one in Montgomery, TX is also gone, and the Lake Charles, LA store moved over to Sulphur, LA and the one in Broussard, LA is now in New Iberia, LA. Play N' Trade stores sure do come and go a lot.

I checked out a couple more stores around the Dallas area. First up is:
Game Master
5111 Rowlett Rd.
Rowlett, TX 75088
Nice shop, really cluttered and filled with tabletop and card games too but mostly video games. That place needs to expand, they're bursting at the seams. Good employees.
FX Game Exchange
3000 Custer Road
Plano, TX 75075
Just opened up, it's a nice extension of their McKinney location. Which is a good thing, because that McKinney store is pretty small. Knowledgeable manager, great selection of games (they printed up slick DVD cases for all their old Atari 2600, 5200, and Intellivision games!) but it's an odd location that's not all that visible from the main roads.
It turns out the new Play N' Trade in the area is supposed to be a mile or two down the street, so I went looking for it. It wasn't there. The company website said it'd be the end of the summer when they'll open their doors, but I guess that's not here yet.

They apparently have a twitter account, as well, under GamePlayStore.
Yeah, nifty place. They stock both old games and new stuff, and have a pretty decent selection already. The owning guy said that they had more stuff they were going to be bringing in shortly, they just decided to open a bit earlier than they initially planned. Should be good to check out in the upcoming days!

Here's my self-plug:
Lucky Funtime Video Games
Wind Gap Flea Market
316 North Broadway
Wind Gap, PA 18091
Saturday: 10-3
Sunday: 10:30 - 3
We specialize in "Stuff you don't see in Wind Gap." We've got lots of imports (especially Super Famicom, Saturn, and Playstation), a pretty good selection of average games (Atari, NES, Genesis, etc), and we always keep a pretty good stock of sought-after random stuff.

The Play N' Trade in Plano, TX has closed. The Replays on Youree Ave. in Shreveport, LA shut down too. And I didn't see it on the map (I might have forgotten to list it) but there was a place in Lewisville, TX called Bulldog Comics and Games that shut down as well. That was a nice little shop, although they weren't replenishing their game stock so their selection was more and more sparse each visit (now I know why).

A bit of an update for this:
There's a listing for Game Cauldron on Lexington Ave. in Roseville, MN. That store has gone out of business, but a different store just opened in the exact same location. Here's the exact info for them:
Media Traderz - 1747 Lexington Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113
Here are some others in the Minnesota area that aren't listed:
Toyriffic (x7):
Maplewood MN - 2950 White Bear Ave N
Hastings MN - 1207 Vermillion St
Forest Lake MN - 1144 1/2 Broadway Ave
Hudson WI - 2113 Coulee Rd
Eau Claire WI - 2919 Mall Drive
Rice Lake WI - 2304 S Main St
St Croix Falls WI - 2161 US Hwy 8
Games N Go (x3)
7605 W Broadway Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55428
10 Rosedale Center #596, Roseville, MN 55113
1178 Burnsville Center, T-11, Burnsville, MN 55306
Game Central (x5)
3840 Southdale Center, Edina, MN 55436
12401 Wayzata Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55305
4101 West Division Street, St. Cloud, MN 56301
8251 Flying Cloud Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
1850 Adams Street, Mankato, MN 56001
Cedar Cliff Collectibles - 1960 Cliff Lake Road, Eagan, MN 55122
Discland - 822 W 98th Street, Bloomington, MN, 55420
Another MN store not mentioned, sells a lot of retro gaming stuff (good prices too)
Mr. Zeros - 1744 Lexington Ave N, Roseville MN, 55113
Hmmm- Zeros must be in the same strip mall/next door? I'll have to check it out this wkend. Are the owners of the previous store involved? They couldnt maintain a store to save their life.
Also, I havent been in them for awhile, but Cedar Cliff was a complete mess last time I visited. "Organized" worse than a rummage sale, stuff all over. Dont plan on running in just for a quick look- you'll be doing some digging around.
& I decided Discland is just too far away from me to hit them up anymore (Oakdale to Bloomington).

A few stores have closed in the Dallas area. The GameXchange in Irving, TX is gone along with it's spiritual sister store, GameAttack! in Flower Mound, TX. There's a few Console Game Exchange stores that were closed in January, including the Valley View Mall store (North Dallas), Collin Creek Mall store (Plano, TX), and the store in Sherman, TX. Also, I might have mentioned earlier in this thread that the Plano Play N' Trade closed down.
There's good news though, is that the Plano Play N' Trade moved over to Flower Mound, TX, and that another Play N' Trade is going to open up in Plano in the next couple weeks. I talked to the guys opening the Plano location, they seem pretty cool, real collectors. It seems like they'll be a mile down the road from the new-ish FX Game Exchange store in Plano.

Where's that Play n Trade opening up in Plano?
Well, when I first looked it up on Play N' Trade's website, it said the store would be on West Parker, roughly around its intersection with Independence Pkwy. They don't have any more info on their site about it now. I'm guessing it's still going to be in the same area. That'll be nice, what with FX Game Exchange being a mile or something east.
That's a great idea! Is it going to include thrift stores/pawn shops, flea markets and other stuff like that? Or are you sticking to gaming stores only? Not saying you should do either, just wondering what you're gonna do.
It's only going to be dedicated retro stores, apparently. It would be way too difficult for everybody to list places like pawn shops and thrifts, since most big cities have heaps of those and most of them don't have any games in them, except for the occasional Super Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge if you're lucky.

A little update: The Play N' Trade in West Monroe, Louisiana has given up their expensive Play N' Trade license and gone independent. They're now called Game Mechanix. And it seems the Play N' Trade in Sulphur, Louisiana has gone out of business, at least it isn't listed on the Play N' Trade website. I'm in town, but I haven't had the chance to drive past yet.
Steve W
06-03-2011, 11:33 PM
The Sulphur, LA location of Play N' Trade is indeed gone. It's still got its sign up, but signs on the windows that everything must go. Such a shame, although I never found anything interesting at this location. It's previous locations were a little better for retro stuff, though.
Where's that Play n Trade opening up in Plano?
They're finally open, on the Northwest side of the intersection of West Parker Road and Independence Parkway, in one of the strip malls. It's a little bit sparse right now, until people trade in some more games. Hopefully it'll be a little fuller next time I stop by. From what I understand, it costs $250,000 to stock a new Play N' Trade, maybe they weren't able to fully stock the place since they've been having delays and difficulties opening up.

The Play N' Trade in Lafayette, LA has moved; it's a little farther East up Johnston Street, in the Albertson's shopping center on the corner of North College Road. I don't know exactly which address number it is. Maybe a local (really, there's only one Lafayette person on this board as far as I can tell) can give us more accurate information.
I ended up coming across another game store, one that's so new it's not listed on Google Maps yet. It's called Game Over, in the town of Broussard, next to yet another Albertson's Supermarket. It's on the south end of the strip mall on the corner of Albertson Parkway and East Main Street. Nice place, pretty decently stocked retro stuff.
GameXchange(?) in Roseville went under, surprised me when I visited to sell back some stuff. Maplewood store is going strong though. Guy there said the Roseville store wasnt doing anything for them.
Games & Go, Rosedale Center(Mall)- overpriced, games semi-organized on racks/shelves, saw one bin w/ different systems' games just piled in, not worth my time digging around. Clerk chatting w/ his homie the whole time, never acknowledged/talked to me. $20 for PS1 Blood Omen: LoK? Come on.
Toyriffic Maplewood still there. Forest Lake location closed, Hastings phone # gets a residence.
Hi-Score Video Games Hugo phone # not in service. Mall of America & N. St Paul locations still OK.

Ok, I don't want to be a complete (but mostly) troll here, but that store is absolutely terrible if you want any kind of fair deal. The more obscure or "diamond in the rough" kind of games you might get for a decent price, but anything that might command any kind of value... not so much. This is the store that I joke about for attempting to sell "Pocky and Rocky 2" for well over the $100 mark.

Someone should add A&C Video Games in Toronto.
It's already on google maps, it just needs a marker.
Their prices are little high, but so are their trade in values, so it sort of balances out.
