OK.
I've had the webcam running in the store for the past six months and customers ALWAYS comment on it. I sometimes even see people posing in front of it while on a cell phone ("look, I'm on the website"!). I know it isn't the most high-tech cam out there but there has to be a few people out there who appreciate it. This thread will determine the fate, future, and physical location of the DP Store Cam.

What I want to see you do:

Check in from time to time. Right click it when you see something interesting. Save the picture to your desktop, then include it as an attachment in a post in this here thread. Caption it. Photoshop it. Make it a webcomic (as was half-heartedly attempted by one of our forum members a few months back). Suggest new angles for the cam. If you've been to the store, we can move the camera to just about any point on the center island in any direction.

I will reward perfect captures or clever uses of the images. Everyone IN the store is so aware that it's there but I often wonder if anyone outside of the store is even looking.

Do not let me down. And YES, I understand that I'm posting this after the store is closed so I don't expect to see anything tonight :)

Have a R.O.B. hold it or something, and leave a setup playing Gyromite so it actually moves. Then again, that would use a lot of batteries...

Put some funny signs next to it describing what will happen to shoplifters, vandals, etc. "Shoplifters will be put in the weekly comic" or something to that extent. Maybe "The Internet is watching YOU."

The one section of the store that I can see looks cool.

I'm voting right away to keep it off the counter corner near the register. More often than not, anyone standing near it gets their head cut off, or someone stands right in front of it.

Well, it's "wired" and limited to the register area but it can go a good six feet in any direction and at any angle. We've had it pointing at the arcade machines mostly (kinda boring), straight into the island (OK if you want to watch Maryah or I goofing off), or across the customer zone (best in my opinion, you can't get in the way unless your face is in the shot).

Tomorrow (Tuesday)'s angle will be much different. Let's see how that works.
