The other day I purchased a TG-16 game locally to use as a test cartridge on the TurboDuo. Looking on eBay I had an impulse buy for another TG-16 game.
Final Lap Twin (C - $7)
Galaga '90 (C - $18 shipped)

I'm leaning towards not caring about boxes and just getting jewel case + manual and cartridge/CD for Turbo games.

It was fine for the Japanese, it should be fine for us too. I'm the same way with TG-16 games, if it has the jewel case and booklet I consider it complete. With the box I call it boxed complete (Cosmic Fantasy 2 for example). Nice pickup on Final Lap Twin, my favorite version of my favorite racing series (I include Pole Position and Pole Position II as part of it as well).

Today I received in the post ...

Batman Forever for the PAL Megadrive.

No big deal, right? Wrong!!! :smash:

This is a limited edition collectors box set that neither I nor any other Megadrive collector I know has seen before. As box sets go, it's pretty dull - just an oversized outer box, with a massive poster and four postcards inside. However, as rare Megadrive goodies go, it's a bit of a landmark acquisition for me 8-)

Patience, my friend .. I've not even got it home yet, I posted from work. There will be pics ... I'll probably hang on a couple of days and post the pics along with ones of the Chinese Megadrive game that I am expecting to arrive in a few days - which should also be interesting .. an unlicensed Chinese MD game, coming to me from Hong Kong - and it's complete with manual. Unheard of! LOL

Fedex dropped off Guitar Hero II complete bundle just now. $14.50+ shipping off ebay. Total cost: $30.20

Pretty good deal since Gamestop charges $34 for the game alone. I really wanted the extra controller for rock band, but this deal was cheaper then the guitar alone. I guess some people don't know how to properly list on ebay. :D

Few things lately:
At a garage sale picked up Power Golf and Vigilante for the TG16, both boxed and $1 each.

fat PS2 for 25, but DRE. Hopefully just needs a cleaning, otherwise I might be able to return it.

Sold a fat PS2 to a woman with a broken slim, which she gave me. It has a melted laser lens.

King's Quest 1 on 5.25, appears complete.

Joystick NES controller and good grape N64 controller

$15 NES at goodwill. 2 controllers, but no cords.

Wish they had been a bit more creative about what to put in it - I mean really, a poster and some postcards. Hardly gonna have people queueing round the block, is it?

Still a nice set to have though!

Good to know, guessed you'd know something about it. I found it strange there was no Keith Courage games around, but happy with Final Lap Twin. Looked promissing and from the online videos and discriptions, just can't wait to get some power cable. I really don't want to but I may have to resort to a variable adaptor from the Shack. Hope you're enjoying Worm War I.

Yeah, Final Lap Twin is a great console-spec port of the series and the RPG-like Quest Mode is something totally different than any game before or since. Sure it's not the most amazing racing game out there but it plays smooth and fast. I've been having fun with Worm War I, the smooth graphics really have impressed me.

Got some Famicom Disk System games in the mail today from DP member ckendal, all in incredible shape.

Exciting Baseball (loose)
Famicom Grand Prix F1 Race (case, cover art)
Golf Japan Course (sleeve, case)
Golf US Course (sleeve, case, manual)
Nazo no Murasamejou (sleeve, case)
Volleyball (complete, with Soccer on Side B)

$33.00 shipped, been playing Nazo no Murasamejou since it arrived. Seems to be a Famicom Disk System renaissance going on at the boards lately. :)

I stopped into this random 'junk' store in downtown Manitowoc while shopping with the misses... turns out that this guy has quite the lockdown on classic and retro titles anywhere outside of Green Bay or Milwaukee! While I was here, I picked up:

Herc's Adventures CIB(Sat) $8
Panic! CIB (SCD) $8
Mohawk & Headphone Jack (SNES) $6
Sunset Riders (SNES) $5

He also had Return Fire (PS1) for only $4! But, when I began molesting the case, the labeling was coming off and there were no instructions :(. That explains why it was so cheap...

He also had a couple of Final Fantasy 7's laying around... for the low price of $60. A CIB TurboGrafx... for $70. An NES toploader, with dogbone controllers (not sure of price)... a sealed version of Romance of the 3 Kingdoms IV (Sat).

I also saw an import 16-in-1 Game Gear cartridge... anyone know what this is about?

I don't mind no pictures when the finds are pretty common and don't usually take them of my normal finds but he specifically said that it was something that no one he knows of had seen and I found that kinda funny.

Picked up yesterday:

Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (xbox, new) - $7.99
Stunt Race Fx - $3

If I were some johnny-come lately who signed up yesterday, I would understand this .. but given that I'm probably among the longest standing members of Digital Press, I would hope not to be suspected of baseless idle brags. Especially in relation to PAL MD / MCD / 32X matters, which I probably know more about than pretty much anyone here (with possible exceptions of anagrama and Cauterize).

Joke aside, I always like the posters who put the extra effort into providing pictures. It's not that I don't believe people who don't post pictures, I've just gotten bored of reading walls of text finds. I generally skip all finds posts that don't have pictures to compliment the words.

I picked up 3 brand new copies of Viewtiful Joe also for $1 at the Big K-mart near my work. So far I've picked these games up for $1 there

Viewtiful Joe- PS2 (x3)
Taito Legends- Xbox (x2)
Sprung- DS (x1)

6 for $6 is pretty good to me for almost any new game.

EDIT: forgot to mention I also got (from K-mart)

Contact- DS $9.97
Dungeon Seige- PSP (x2) $9.97

for those whole like Baldur's Gate, I believe you will think highly of Dungeon Siege. I like it a lot and its fun 2 player. Buy 2 copies if you have to so you can play it with a friend who has PSP (I bought 2 Metal Slug anthologies for that reason).

$60, all complete and in good shape. Ikaruga is the reason I bought this lot. I downloaded the demo off of Live and was pretty blown away. The last shooter I played was Galaxian, so this is quite the step up. The best part is, after I sell Animal Crossing (already have it), Tetris Worlds (don't want it), and the system I'll have gotten Metroid Prime, PSO, and Ikaruga for free.

I finally got a Cocktail table today off Craigslist for $200, It is Star Warrior and from what I read on KLOV, it must be incredible rare as they had no records of pictures, no one on the site had one.

I just wanted a cocktail and this is in nice shape for being from 1981 and it is a Galaga rip-off, which I love Galaga

One of these days, I'll get a digital camera. Until then, enjoy my "boring lists."

Anyways, I bought some NES games from another DP'er, and they arrived in the mail yesterday:

Big Nose the Caveman (w/cart sleeve)
Captain Comic: The Adventure (w/cart sleeve, blue cart)
Double Strike (w/cart sleeve, R5)
Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu (w/cart sleeve, blue cart)
Quattro Adventure (w/cart sleeve)
Starship Hector (w/cart sleeve and manual)

This puts me at 220 NES games. Double Strike is my first AVE cart, and Captain Comic and Master Chu are my first Color Dreams carts.

I'm so jealous of all of your finds. I've been searching now for over two years and haven't managed to find ANYTHING worth picking up. I don't know how you do it. I'm gonna chalk up my bad luck to everyone in my area being spoiled and just throwing everything out when a new console appears. Kudos to all of you.

You must not go to many Garage sales or Thrift stores? I do it almost daily, granted, earthbound doesn't show up very often.

There's actually a very nice Genesis lot at the same Thrift store, it's avalible through one of their silent auctions. There's no bids as of yet and it ends Monday. A complete Genesis system with I think I counted 33 games, all complete, some excellent titles in there as well. I'll be there Monday to put a bid in.

Thrift stores, yes. Garage sales? Not as many as I'd like, but I do.

It might have something to do with this being a college town. Probably at least 50% of the town's population is between the ages of 18-25. I bet they get gobbled up before I can catch them. :(

And more or less I mean the decent finds. I can find old NES games that are selling on ebay for 99 cents, but never anything worth while. Ocassionally I will come across an Atari lot though.

I was pretty surprised to find some SFC games today but since I don't read Japanese they are up for sale. Anyways on with the pic:

I would seriously keep those. Even if you don't read Japanese....there's always online translations.

Yeah, those are keepers. It might be hard to deal with, but translation patches could help you through those games, especially gems like Tactics Ogre and the Shin Megami Tensei titles.

There weren't very many garage sales today, but that didn't stop me from finding some stuff! :)

http://ryaan1234.googlepages.com/IMG_0193.jpg
TI-82 calculator - $3
Edgar Allen Poe book - $0.25
Age of Empires II and expansion - $0.25
MGS: Twin Snakes - $3
The 2001: Space Odyssey soundtrack and 2-disc movie theme soundtrack were $0.50 each
The cool old Godzilla vs. Megalon VHS was $0.25
I bought the guides (Killer Instinct, Earthworm Jim, & Boogerman) in the next lot, which includes the next 2 pictures.

Yeah, I got all of the Genesis, 32x, and SNES games, along with the guides and the 4 systems for $30 :D

Umm...they all have the original boxes, it's just that they're in pretty rough shape. All of the system boxes have some bad water damage, it's amazing that the original inserts and all the stuff in the boxes are in good shape. The Sega CD looks like it was maybe used once. I believe the actual boxes for the game systems were stored seperate and they got wet, that's the only explanation that I can think of as to why the systems and manuals are fine and the games have no water damage, while the system boxes are in bad shape. They were all found in a single big box with water staining on it, so I dunno.

$30? were you waving a gun around in their face while negotiating? Or were they drinking? :drinking: Nice job either way.

I got these today:

All the games were $2 each. The genesis was $1 and final fantasy guide was free. As for the genesis and sega cd, I won it from some guy in an intense heads or tails competition at the flea market LOL. He threw in genesis 6 pack for free aswell.

Guitar Hero II xplorer guitar for 360- $5.00 at pawn.

Covered with stickers, but still a good deal. Not picture-worthy though. Smells like attic and cigarettes, I'll scrub it out later.

Hit the flea market today. First booth I went to had Soul Calibur and Lodos War for Dreamcast but I passed because the guy wouldn't go lower than $8 each. Snagged these for $5 and $1 at some other booths though. As you can see, I was overwhelmed with excitement at my finds:

When I pulled into the flea this morning, I parked behind a car that had a "NNTENDO" license plate and a beat-up DP Collector's Guide & sealed Aquarius Night Stalker in the back seat. No wonder why I can't find anything good around here any more!

Found a copy of Silent Hill PSX at Goodwill today... talked em down to $2.

I guess it's my first real find (looking at ebay prices), woot!

Discs are in awesome condition, no scratches, just a few smudges. I'm too scared to wipe em off though, EVERY damn time I do that, I end up scratching it :O

wait, you haggled at goodwill? And on something you were getting a steal on in the first place? I dunno, I'm all for getting a good deal, but I guess even I have my limits. I'm not saying its like killing a kitten or kicking a puppy, don't get me wrong, just seems a little... off somehow.

Didn't know you could haggle at Goodwill. I just left there, and I sure as heck would have tried. I found a disc only Marvel vs Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes for ps1 for $3.25, but it is scratched to hell. I bought it anyway on the off-chance it might work. Does Blockbuster do disc resurfacing?

I don't know about blockbusters, but the Game Crazys around here resurface. I think the guy that has done mine is too shy about it, though, because it hasn't worked with any of the games I've brought him.
