Picked up at my local drug store. I've been waiting for them to go half off but the Donkey Kong was down to only 1 left. 25% off isn't too bad.

I'm a bit bummed right now. I found this SNES lot at a garage sale with a $25 sign on it for everything. I glanced in, saw the Mario Paint box, zelda, and a DK Country or two. Offered 20, she took it and I picked it all up and threw it in the trunk. I didn't look through it until now, but all morning and afternoon I just couldn't help feeling like there was going to be a nice treasure in there; maybe a Chronotrigger or Earthbound (both of which I don't have an haven't played). No such luck, but still for $20 I can't really complain.

My first xBox! For some reason this system never appealed to me in its heyday. I played Halo a couple times at friends' places, but that was about it. 10 bucks w/ 4 controllers. Can't beat that! Well, would be nice if it had an a/v cable, but I have a generic multi one I can use, plus I left my number at the garage sale, so she might call with it. Just fired it up and it works great with the game that was in it (NHL 05, why couldn't it have been Marvel vs. Capcom or something?).

And today's finds:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/2008-05-22.jpg
These four items were $4 in total; the CDI games are in good shape, and are up for trade if anyone wants 'em.
I went back to the booth where I bought the X'Eye to see if I could find the power supply, only to find the booth owner sold EVERYTHING and the new owner already had everything in baggies.
The worst part is, I know who he sold the stuff to. The guy charges an arm and a leg for anything... He wanted $15 for a half-broken famiclone system WITHOUT ANY WIRES OR PADS. So if the power supply was ever there, is gone for good. ;_;

That would be McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure (at least that's what it's called in the US). It's developed by Treasure, and while it's not Gunstar Heroes or Dynamite Headdy, it's still pretty fun.

Ah, didn't even notice that. I've got that one though (disc only, same as his), so I'm not as impressed. Ha. But yeah, that is an amazing game.

I've never played it, but from what I've heard/read, it's Diablo +1. It's got the same pick-up-and-play feel that Diablo has, but it's a bit deeper. Or so I've read. After looking on ebay it looks like this game isn't actually that valuable, but I've always wanted to try it. I might just have to buy one.

Smashed Brother
05-23-2008, 06:32 PM
This week has been pretty good to me. So far....
From a couple of days ago:
The local video rental/laundromat is closing down the rental portion, due to Family Video popping up recently. So, the owner is selling ALL his games (PS1, N64, SG, SNES, SCD) for either $2.50 a piece, or 5 for $10! Every game not only has the original box, but also all instructions/inserts. Here's what I picked up...
SNES:
Hammerlock Wrestling
War 2410
Doomsday Warrior
Cutthroat Island
The Ignition Factor
PS1:
Viewpoint
Warhawk (the longbox version)
N64:
Bust-A-Move '99
And, from today:
I stopped into the local K-Mart because they will occasionally place some of their games on clearance. I grabbed...
GBA:
Gunstar Super Heroes - $2.97
PSP:
Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins - $2.97
GC:
Space Raiders - $3
DS:
Contact - $3.97
The local K-Mart also has SMT: Persona 3 and the GBA Final Fantasy 6. I'm just waiting until they decide to put those on clearance, hehe... Sorry, I don't have a digital camera, so, no pictures for you!

How is Gunstar Super Heroes on GBA?
It's great! The only thing that disappointed me about it was the fact that there's no 2-player mode like in the Genesis/Mega Drive version. But, I suppose that if another player was added with all of the chaos going on, it would've turned out as sloppy as Advanced Guardian Heroes did.
Anyway, sometimes is just unbeliveable how cheap do you guys found games such ULTIMATE GHOST AND GOBLINS!!!!Here in brazil it can go beyond 60$!!!
Damn!! I should buy up all of their stock and move to Brazil... I could make a killing! :) But yeah, it's nice having lower-quality department chains like K-Mart, who are constantly clearancing out products at low prices for cheap-ass gamers like myself. I have to admit though, I would do all kinds of regrettable deeds just to get my hands on some of the Sega Master System stuff that's released down there...

Hell yeah, and thehe goes a very good example of this:
As i said, i went hunting down retro games today and although hopeless i had a very pleasing surprise.
As soon as i arived at the flea market a man full of loose sms games came to me and asked if iīd like to have some of the games, some doubles but he priced the loot 25R$:frustrated:, great price but only had 18R$(keep in mind SMS goes alround 7-10R$, loose or not). After some cheap talk grabbed it for 18R$ but take off the shit(Shooting G. and a double RAMBO 3).Here it is:
Choplifter(already have but this one looks better)
Rambo 3
Missile Defense 3D
Gangster Town
And for me, the reason why i picked this pack, VIGILANTE.
And the gran finalle:
YOHI ISLAND!!!!!!
First priced as 50R$:o:o:o:o
But you know, after showing some greens...
20R$, HELL YEAH!

Works both ways .. I asked a guy on Mercado Libre how much it would cost to ship a game to the UK. He said it would be R$145!! :?
Now I'm not an expert on shipping prices from Brazil, but I am pretty sure there's a way to post a Megadrive game for cheaper than Ģ50!!

Had an o.k. day at the flea market today. Found a Zelda Game & Watch in real nice codition for $5 and PS2 Capcom Vs. SNK 2 for $9.
I've actually wanted CvS2 for a while but didn't want to spend $40-$50 on it, so this was a great find for me. The Zelda G&W is up for trade though if anyone wants it.

The PS1 games were $0.50 each. I got Rayman, Brunswick Wake Boarding, Activision Classic Games, The Hercules Action Adventure Game, and Pac-Man World. The (kinda beat-up) TI-81 calculator was $2. I found the complete, with a tattered box, copy of Sewer Shark for $1. The weird thing was that I found Sewer Shark sitting on top of a box of baby toys. The person running the sale had no idea were it came from. At least the disc is in good shape. After seeing Spoony's review of it I don't think I want to play it. The copy of Lords of the Realm II was $1. Lords of Magic is one of my favorite games so I think I'll like this game. And last but not least, the complete copy of Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 was $3.
That's about it. I really didn't find much today, even though my city was having one of those "city-wide" garage sale things (and there were a TON of sales today, I guess there was just a ton of crappy sales and a few pretty good ones.)

Is the disc scratched?
Heh, nope. I'm completely mental when it comes to scratched discs, so that was the first thing I checked.
I almost didn't buy it either since the lady originally wanted $10 and I only had $9. It looked like she was getting ready to say no until I took the cash out of my wallet and waved it around in front of her.

Asked about video games at this sale and out of a barn in the backyard came this. About As dirty as systems get the NES games are going to take some serious cleaning. As I was looking it over the girl said I could have it all for $5 which I paid. I've been hoping to find Ring King as I don't have it and this being the first time I've seen one in the wild over the last few years. Excitebike 64 is the worst conditioned N64 game I've ever seen in person and I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work after I get around to cleaning up these games.

1st Party 3 Button Controller
1st Party RF Adaptor
2 1st Party Power Adaptors
$2
Saw this without a price offered two dollars which was taken. It belonged to a family member that wasen't around which usually gets me blocked or hindered at a fair amount of sales around me when haggling on just about anything with a price on it but without a price it went ok as they knew that they wanted it gone.
Watermelon N64
1st Party Watermelon Controller
3rd Party Gold Controller
Banjo-Kazooie (PC)
Mario Kart 64
Army Men: Sarge's Heroes
World Driver Campionship
$3
Found this in a shoe box without a price below a table at a sale. Asked if they had any other games at this sale and they said that somebody just bought a big box of games but I'm thinking it was probably just a Playstation as the one lady at the sale though that the N64 was a Playstation when I brought it up. I asked about the hook ups missing and offered $3 which was taken. This is my first colored N64 and the first one I've seen in the wild in years.
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door
Pikmin (PC)
Game Card Amror Case
Game Boy Binder
$7
The GameCube Games were marked $5 each and were complete and in good shape with no scatches that I noticed looking at them, the others .50 & .75 Offered $7 for everything. The Armor Case are individual casees for DS cards and the binder has pages in it for Game Boy games similar to the pages for sports cards (not exactly sure what they are called) and have a zip lock bag type lock for each spot you can put a game in. Rather generic but neat and I actually could use it has I have some loose Game Boy games without cases.
NES Advantage - $1
Asked about games and from a box down below I didn't check closely enough a lady pulled this out. Has a sticker with a name & $5 on it as if it's been out during a yardsale(s) in previous years and didn't sell. Lady running the sale said I could have it for a $1 as she handed it to me and I didn't bother counter offering as I though it was fair. As I was leaving she said that her son has a bunch of NES stuff that was left behind in her attic that she would get rid of so I left my e-mail with her in hopes that she gets in touch with me about it.

First sale I went to today at 8 as they had Atari with games & extras in the advertisment. I am usually late and in this case it was 5 minutes after 8 as I walked up to the sale. I saw a guy leaving with a big box and saw a loose Woodgrain 2600 on top. I asked him if they had anything else and the lady at the sale said they had another Atari with some games. I asked the guy if Adventure was included in his bundle saying how it's one I've been hoping to find for awhile and he looked and found one and said I could have it! The box probably had about 40-50 games total and what I did see was all fairly common AFAIK and nothing I was too upset about missing noticed 2 Pitfalls in his box along with 2 ETs :D He mentioned that he paid $25 and said it was a good deal and seemed rather happy said that he already had a system but it didn't work or didn't work very well. I checked out the other system they still had and it had a shoe box with 21 games & a boxed system in a small white garbage bag that had writing on it that said $25 with games & extras. I picked out a few games I was mostly interested in and was gonna try and offer .50 per a game for them. I instead decided to offered $10 for the last bundle which was accepted. The lady running the sale was actually really nice and I talked to her for a few minutes, she was telling me how they don't really like newer games and have just recently moved on to the NES fairly recently. Said that one system belong to them and the other was her parents or something like that probably so the kids had a game system to entertain them at the grandparents house.

Well as it turns out, there was no Nox game in that big box I bought. Oh well. $1 still aint bad for everything it came with.

On my way to work I passed a small yard sale, and usually look to see(no matter what speed) if i can spot any games, well yesterday I saw a stack of 2 SNES systems so we turn the car around and go back.
There were 2 SNES systems, an NES, and a NES Toploader, along with some shitty games.
I picked up the better looking SNES(w/controller and power supply), and the Toploader(w/controller, normal not dogbone =( ) for a grand total of $8.
Another good day for me.

A ton of places were closed today. The side-effect of local private owner shops I guess but still managed to visit a few local thrift stores. The only game I managed to buy today:
Guantlet IV (GEN - CIB/$4)
Not bad, but I don't currently have a Genesis hooked up so the Nomad will get some attention today.

For all the driving I do to get around the area it's a real bummer to find several shops closed for the holiday. Generally those stores are open on Sunday til at least 5-6pm. I was sick yesterday so after feeling better today I just had to get out and enjoy the weather by whatever means. It's nice to see at least others got some good sized hauls, and loving the Sinclair find.

On the bright side, Gauntelt IV is pretty good, and the soundtrack is freaking amazing for a Genesis game.

True, and was one of the first things I realized even comming out of a Nomad speaker. Does there happen to be any slow down with 4 players? It would be a great game to get a couple of people into at a time.
