ive been picking things up here and there the past few weeks,
At a trunk sale got a complete and mint in box nes system for $10 with 4 games.
Got a gameboy sp system for $5.
I bought at a garage sale a ps2 system with about 20 games for $60.
Found 5 gamecube games for $15, they are all sonic and mario.
Found a mini ps1 system for $5 with all plugs and controller,
My best video game find was last week, on craigslist there was an ad for nintendo nes stuff. It said it just came out of storage, It advertised 2 systems, 1 in box, a bunch of guns and plugs, and over 100 games.
It was only about 5 minutes away from me and i called and he said it was sold, then he called the next day and he said the guy backed out, do i still want it, i was like, im on my way over, lol.
I did not expect much, i thought it would all be dirty and in a pile.
I wa stunned, it was all in mint conidtion, and neatly organized in boxes,
There were tons of good titles and they were all in dust cases and about half have manuals. There are really no junk games, not a lot of sports. He said there were some doubles, but thats no problem for me since his doubles were of mario 2 and 3 and papeboy and contra.
There were about 5 games complete in box, the best being paperboy complete and mint in the box.
Thats all for video games, there has been other stuff here and there i picked up, i cant remember though.
The big thing i missed out on was last week at a garage sale, just as i was walking up, i saw a stack of about 25 or 30 ps1 games in cases. There was a guy looking at them, you could tell he was a flea market dealer, he was throwing them around like crazy looking for something, he was like 60years old, Before even asking the person running the sale, he put all the games in a bag and just handed the guy a $10 and started walking away. The guy at the sale said ok $10 is fine. I was gonna be like wait ill pay you $50 but it was too late the guy who bought them was running away.
I was so mad, $10 is such a ripoff.
I asked the guy anyways and he said he was into rpg games and that me feel really bad about it. I could see there was a ff 7 and a couple other really good games in the stack.
But oh well.
My best non video game find was last week, I bought a bose acoustic wave radio system at a garage sale for $8, i was there early, it was a multi family sale in a nice housing plan, the guy was like i dont need it anymore.
That was a lot of typing, i needed to spill my guts about the past few weeks.

Haven't had access to a PC with my camera in awhile so here's what I've found (the Vic-20 was from a Ebay a couple of weeks ago, the PS2 & Gamecube games were from another forum, and everything else is recent in town pick-ups). The Gameboy Micro was $29 at my local Walmart (closeout item, they had ten or so left):

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaugh. I just spent the past two days trying to fix my Windows XP installation, which went wacky after some problems I had with a previous install. Long story short, I'm finally back on my feet, and so I have pictures.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-2008-05-26a.jpg
The CD folder is kinda neat, I already had a similar one but you can never have too few of these. That was $2. The Tex Murphy: Overseer CD is brand new, and cost me a buck. I already have the game, but I never really played it, so...
And then there's this:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-2008-05-26b.jpg
It's apparently CIB. In case you can't make it out, it's a Japanese Konami DDR Pad for the Dreamcast. I don't know where my stack of DC CDRs is, but I'll try it out when I have the chance. (This is up for sale or trade, by the way.)

Went to the flea market which is on mondays and since today was memorial day, it was packed with vendors and loads of people. I get started and go up and down several rows of people and the best thing I see are a few dirty common genesis games. One of my friends went with me and was picking up stuff left and right. He's the kind into knives and ninja stuff. But, while he had his arms full and we were 3/4 done looking, I was starting to wonder if I was going to find anything.
So just around the corner there was a vendor selling gamecube, ps2, and x-box games for 8.50 each. Not a steal, but not murder to my wallet, either. I sifted through the games and she didn't have much except two games that stood out. Viewtiful Joe 2 for the GC and 9 More Holes of X-Mas for the xbox. I picked those up and moved on.
http://i25.tinypic.com/oifzu0.jpg
Went to the next vendor and found a basket full of atari 2600 and 7800 games along with three gameboy games. Picked up the three GB games for $1 a piece.
The same vendor that had the GB games also had a toploading nes. I asked how much and she said $15. A steal right there! But I wanted to test my haggling skills. I asked her if she would take any less. She hesitated. She said no, she had to have 15. So I started to walk away...slowly...in case she change her mind, but no go. I couldn't keep the nes out of my head and I didn't really want to spend more than 10 on anything else since I had to get gas later. I went back to the woman and ask her to take $10. She hesitated. I told her I would throw in a hug. She hesitated. And finally gave in. I reach for my wallet and give her two fives. I said come here and gave the nice old lady a hug. (I hope I don't have to use this tactic too often, because I know some old people smell...) But here she is. My $10 toploader. It came with everything and works fine, just the system is pictured.

True, and was one of the first things I realized even comming out of a Nomad speaker. Does there happen to be any slow down with 4 players? It would be a great game to get a couple of people into at a time.
Unfortunately I don't have a 4-player multi-tap, so I have no idea if slowdown is in the game or not.
Anyway, another minimalist Sunday for me at a regional flea market, but I got some goodies:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u160/Xexyz1337/IM000514.jpg
Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 (SNES, $2)
On The Ball (I never knew this was ported to the SNES, $2)
Genghis Khan (NES w/ sleeve, $2)
Whomp Em (NES complete inc. promotional poster, $2)
Breath of Fire III (PS1 complete, $5)
I like how Jaleco's U.S. branch put a minimalist effort into Westernizing Whomp Em. Only change the main character sprite from the Journey to the West Monkey King, to a Native American, while leaving everything else exactly the same... And while the game content isn't offensive, I'm sure the games title is inappropriate. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful Mega Man-esque platformer.

Today's finds were decent. Got 2 DC games CIB (hydro thunder, soul calibur) and mario party 8 (missing cover) for 30 flat as well as a master system for 20 flat that's only missing the box and papers. The styraphone (too lazy to check for correct spelling) is somewhat chewed but there. Just need to clean it up a bit. It works though which is very nice. Also got the hard back strat guide for twilight princess for 11 as well.

I've just stopped posting in this thread because (a) I keep buying more crap I can't keep track of and (b) I'm lazy.

Gamestop
Bases Loaded (GB, loose) - $1.29
Black Stone (XB, complete) - $9.29
Ducktales (GB, loose) - $1.49
Lotus Challenge (GC, complete) - $4.49

The lady at the counter who is quite young and attractive wanted me to leave either Spot or the other PS1 game that was there for her son. The other game? Bubsy 3D. Not a hard choice.
I also found a lot of retail stuff I just don't want to list right now.

Nice day at the flea market although it was quieter than usual due to coming off the long weekend. Both Cy and Shorty were back though so it was all good. I didn't buy a whole lot but it was all good stuff and I didn't spend much at all.
For the first time in awhile I found some stuff among Cy's assortment. Atop a large speaker was a boxed Video Game Brain. I haven't seen one in a long time and I've never come across one boxed so I grabbed it, knowing they aren't exactly the easiest Atari VCS accessory to find. I also found a Dreamcast fishing controller. When I asked him how much he asked me what the fishing controller was and I told him "it's a fishing controller for games." He said $2.00 for both items, possibly thinking the box went with the controller. The controller works fine and the Video Game Brain is totally complete, in fact it looks as if it may have never been used. I really don't want it so I'll put it up for sale, as always if you're interested you can shoot me a PM before then.
Atari VCS - Video Game Brain (boxed complete) ($1.00)
DC - Sega Fishing Controller ($1.00)

After flat out telling a few people they were completely out of their minds with their prices (we're talking 5200 splitter cables for the Wico sticks, JUST the splitter, $5.00 - told that guy I'm going to quit wasting my time because he's always full of shit) I found some PlayStation games for $5.00 each. I picked up Mega Man Legends (remembering I had completed it but forgetting I had a copy) and G.Darius (which I've had forever but I know it's a game people look for). Both are complete and in good shape.
PS1 - G.Darius ($5.00)
PS1 - Mega Man Legends ($5.00)
http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-05-27(02).jpg
When looking over Shorty's shrinking assortment of games I noticed a bunch of crates on the ground behind the tables. He said everything's for sale, to go back and look. I found parts from an Action Max and a few loose VCS's and Genesis 2's. Also among the systems I found a set of Atari 2600 Remote Control Joysticks as well as the base module. Also grabbed a loose copy of Taz. He wanted $6.00 for the wireless sticks and the game, no problem at all.
VCS - Atari 2600 Remote Control Joysticks ($5.00)
VCS - Taz ($1.00)
http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-05-27(03).jpg
Always nice when everything works too, there was a tiny bit of corrosion on one of the joystick battery snaps but clean up was no problem at all, both work great.

I thought today was going to suck... and it didn't.
I woke up late but there was no line to cross to the US for some reason, so I got to the flea market at around 6:20 AM... I looked at several booths and found nothing. I literally went around the -entire- flea market and there was nothing... until I got to a little corner booth where I bought a bunch of PC games two months ago.
I saw a SNES lying on top of a box, and it turned out it was a storage cabinet. It had a few SNES games, and a SNES manual. The games are below.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/2008-05-28-snesrpgs.jpg
:o The seller said she had tons more stuff, and even some new games, but I got the last games available. WTF?! Who the hell leaves FF3 and Secret of Mana behind?! Ah well. Total was $11, the games are going to eBay but the manual is up for trade.
I was content, I figured, there's no way I could top this. No. Way.
And then I decided to take another look at another booth where I usually buy CDs. They have quirky stuff, and I just glanced over it earlier.
I spotted a PS1 game from about ten feet away. As soon as I saw it I headed towards it. At first I thought it was Star Ocean, but I wasn't prepared for what I found...

Had Harvest Moon, Earthbound, both lufia's, breath of fires, all the square rpg's, ogre battle, all 3 Donkey Kongs, Contra III, Metal Warriors, and a bunch of others. Got to pick and choose from about 200 or so total ones.
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90649&page=6
Bought for $165 and sold for $1500 or so.
Then about 3 years ago 150 N64 games all in box about 1/2 complete for $1 each, that I sold for probably $1K

Picked up a nice Warcraft III Reign of Chaos collectors edition (CIB, yup everything) yesterday along with the Frozen Throne expansion. Cost $12 and the CD keys aren't in use so I've been playing WC3 for the second time since it was released (borrowed it from a friend for a few days to try it).

I never go to the swap meet or garage sales with any expectation to find anything. Don't wanna disappoint myself by hyping myself up.

I don't either. It's just that when I found those items, I was already thinking "This is going to be a sucky day."

FINALLY after 2 1/2 years of looking in the wild, I found a Valkyrie Profile PS1. It was at a classic game store out here in MA, and it cost me $80, AND it has no instructions, but I've always wanted to find it in the wild and $80 for that is well worth it to me for how long I've been searching.
At the same store I also found:
Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo Saturn for $25 (been searching a long time for this too)
Samurai Spirits RPG for Neo Geo CD $15
I spent a good amount, but I found games that were essential to have for my collection. I want that store to stay open as long as possible so I'm willing to pay the prices there rather than E-Bay.

I received the Resident Evil Essentials pack (RE4, RE:CV-X, & RE:Outbreak) that I ordered from Walmart.com. I should have bought it a few months back when I saw it in person as I was unable to find it in stores after looking for a couple of weeks and had to settle for the online order.

Fatal Frame for XBOX- $10 @ Cash America Pawn. Also picked up a memory card for N64 for $3 @ Play N Trade. I was also gonna buy some NES sleeves there because I bought them a few weeks ago for .50 each. Today... well they had marked them up to 2.99 each. That's bullshit considering the clear plastic rental cases are still .50 cents. No Thanks.

NES games from last weekend at a garage sale in Green Bay along with 3 Genesis games ( McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure (r6), Shadow Dancer (both complete), and forgot the third (loose)). They were all marked $2 each, which totaled to $78 and I paid 65. A fair amount of junk in there, but some stuff I needed, too, like Snake Rattle and Roll, RoboCop 3, Shinobi, Captain Planet, and Back to the Future II&III. Sorry for the lousy pic.

This is stuff from today. NOLF (what a great game) was $5 at GW, Dark Forces was 4 at a thrift where I passed on a bunch of okay stuff (CTR, Tekken3, Tony Hawk, etc), and the GBASP w/ games was 45 from 50 (wouldn't take 40 :( ). DVD was a buck. Guess you can't read the games, they are: Castlevania Adventure, Pokemon Blue, R-Type DX, Final Fantasy Legend II, Drgnball Z legacy Goku, Pokemon FireRed, BeyBlade, SW Lego, SW Flight of the Falcon, Spider-Man, Sonic Advance, Super Dodgeball Advance, YuGiOh, quad desert fury, Final Fight One, Dragon Ball Z Taiketsu, Lego bionicle, and TMNT.

Hey guys,
Man it has been a while since I posted anything. WOOT to lurking!
Anyhow, would you guys say $500 is a good deal for 300 assorted PS1,PS2,XBOX,N64,Sega games? I know it is kind of ambiguous because I don't even know what the games all are yet (a ton of N64 and Sega would be great), but I am just asking in general???
The guy said he will send me a full list soon, supposedly they all have original paperwork and boxes.
I am just hoping for no sports games :/

Here in Texas, I'm having the driest month that I can remember - and I'm not talking about the weather. The only deals I'm finding are here on DP or occasionally on ebay, with nothing of interest showing up at Thrifts or used stores. My favorite thrift (where I can usually find interesting scores) hasn't had anything except a Gameboy color console - and they marked it at $12.12. Too much for the condition for sure.
Bring on June....

The guy with 300 games for $500 is such a scammer.
he sent me a full list and it was a load of ****
Not one good title, there were like 5 n64 games.
It is 99% sports and he has doubles and quads of like madden 96 and nhl 97.
he made it sound like his personal lifelong amazing collection. I was expecting Some really sweet games.
I cant believe he took the time to even list all those crappy games, lol.

Got a couple things today:
PlayStation:
Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (complete) - $2.50
PS2:
Ridge Racer V (complete) - $5
This is the first time in a while that I've come across a copy of Ridge Racer V that wasn't scratched to hell. In fact, the case, manual, and disc look almost brand new.

HEY!! Yea I am!
I saw that pop up on Craigslist and I was the first to talk to him. BIG Scammer! I called him and talked and he told me that 75-85% of the sega games were NOT sports...So he emails me the list 99% Sports with many dups.
I like to hear fellow games are around! I am in grad school (med school) now, so I don't have anymore summers really :( no car :( and don't get to go to any yard sales or fleamarkets :(
That was the only joy in my life and now it is gone WHY!!
