So with this thing they are doing making broadcast signals digital by 2009 or whatever, Are the GG tv tuner and Turbografx tuner going to be useless soon?

Sorry if this has been asked.

I would venture to say yes, since they weren't built to utelize the digital signal.

Yes and no. You should still be able to pick up some low power stations with them. I've also heard of people using them to watch the video from RC planes and whatnot. And for player 2 output for Nomads.

airwave broadcasting wise,most definately yes...
But if you have the Rf cable adapter or a compatible A/V cable to input into the GG TV tuner connected to the video/Audio output signals of your cable or satellite receiver, it'll probably work ok....

Sorry, but my half-hearted attempt at stopping the misinformation...I have to say that this isn't necessarily true again.

I don't want to sound like a broken record but it's only high power stations. Not the thousands of low power local stations and repeater towers out there.

But on the otherhand, becasue of the misinformation, they're probally going to go away much faster now.

The GG TV tuner has already troubles picking any signal at all at least where I live, the frequency band is not that extensive....I guess will see next year..

ooXxXoo is more or less correct, but so is jb143.

GG TV tuner will be handy if you want to rig up a quickie composite display, or an RF one for your Atari. Given the relatively poor quality of the screen, I'd consider other options.

On the other hand, if you live on an Indian reservation and simply can't get enough of home shopping, televangelism or Univision programming, then your GG Tuner will be the belle of the ball :D

both the game gear and turbo express tuners have a line for mono sound and conposite video.
so they still will have some use.
but i dont really care, i do all my mobile viewing with a sling box and software on my HTC tytn ppc phone or my laptop. i love 3g :)

I think the value is definitely going to go up or down.

Will the GG TV Tuner be a Vectrex Light Pen or a Game Boy Camera? Only time and the market will tell.

I paid $90 for mine about six years ago and I had the good sense to keep the box, docs and inserts. So PM me if it goes the way of the Vectrex Light Pen. I'll make ya a hella deal
