....Space Invader
If your name was Chong Li
We'd be playin' Street Fighter -Wyclef Jean, Guantanamera he really said Chong, when he meant Chun Li

The radio edited version of one of Eminem's less known tracks (the 2nd volume of the old Soundbombing mix tape series) uses Scorpion's voice tracks to censor cursing.

In underground hip hop in general, that certain sound from Defender in that Limp Bizkit/Method Man track mentioned earlier has been used many many times in radio edits.

I was also messing around with the Game Over mixtape CD, and I heard this dirty south type beat that sampled Kid Icarus stage 2 BGM.

I didn't read the whole topic, so if these were already mentioend, sorry.

Conflict - 'The greatest show on Earth'
Opens up with the Bubble Bobble theme. I also think the live song 'Final Conflict' has a song from Chrono Trigger in the background when it starts.

Wu-tang Clan - 'Triumph'
'Behold the bold soldier, control the globe slowly
Proceeds to blow swingin swords like Shinobi'

Atmosphere - 'Trying to find a balance'
'While everyone was trying to out-do the last man
I was just a ghost trying to catch someone's Pac-man'

Also, that 'unreleased d12' song mentioned earlier is actually Eminem and some other rappers on a Game Over track called Hellbound.

Kaiser Chiefs - Oh My God

"Kick me down i'll get right back up again, i'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man"

I don't know the lyrics off the top of my head but Kool Keith has a song where he mentions playing Sega Saturn a couple times. Also, A little off topic here, but Trey Azagthoth from Morbid Angel is a hugh Doom and anime fan I hear.

Morbid Angel has their own Unreal clan or something like that.

Game Over By Lil Flip has Pac-man music as the background music. None of the lyrics mention video games though.

Might have missed this mentioned in this thread, but there is a great song by Freezepop.

"I am not your gameboy"

don't play with me
I am not your toy
oh cant you see
I am not your gameboy
don't mess with me
I am not your toy
just look at me
I am not your gameboy

6 double A batteries, and i'm good to go
700 milliamps, i'm here 2 rokk the show
6 double A batteries, to hear the music play
700 milliamps, gonna come your way

I don't have ms. pac-man
asteroids or donkey kong
don't look here for tetris
even supermario
don't ask me, i told you no

don't play with me
I am not your toy
oh cant you see
I am not your gameboy
don't mess with me
I am not your toy
just look at me
I am not your gameboy

6 double A batteries, and i'm good to go
700 milliamps, i'm here 2 rokk the show
6 double A batteries, to hear the music play
700 milliamps, gonna come your way

I don't have spyhunter
galaga or burger time
don't look here for frogger
dig-dug aint no friend of mine
don't ask me, you'll cross the line

don't play with me
I am not your toy
oh cant you see
I am not your gameboy
don't mess with me
I am not your toy
just look at me
I am not your gameboy

I don't have a joystick
or a backlit lcd
no nintendo logo
don't push that cartridge inside me
cause i'll push back, just wait and see

don't play with me
I am not your toy
oh cant you see
I am not your gameboy
don't mess with me
I am not your toy
just look at me
I am not your gameboy...

The song was mentioned, but the lyrics weren't typed out. Thanks!

On that note, here are the lyrics to MF Doom's verse in "Put Your Quarter Up" which is just more evidence that Doom is one of the best MCs around:

I go next, put your quarter up
For bets, put your daughter up and let the sinner corrupt(?)
Not to be confused with the fake fly raw sound
Still the one that used to take your high score down
With more rhymes than germs a spitball carries
As it fly through the air like Pitfall Harry
Shit, y'all fairies take a loss like Slobodan
This goes out to man, woman and child from Robotron
Before the end I'll save the world like Defender
There's no time to curl up to hurl from a bender
Back when your last five never went to weed
More likely going like 20 rounds on Centipede
If it go fast or slow, no matterin'
The flow down pat like the whole acro patterin'
Those who want to learn the technique take heed, no
It's twist like Spy Hunter once he PSSSH to the speedboat

The Moldy Peaches- Anyone Else but you:
"up up down down left right left right b a start
just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart."

if anyone hasn't heard of The Advantage check em out. alot more technical than The Mini Bosses IMO

Also Ozma covers the tetris theme.

Theres an old punk song called "Arcade Queen" but i don't remember who it's by.

Theres a Strokes 45 that has the centapede art work on it.

Bloodhound Gang made light of Pac-Man's quasi-drug references (munchies, white dots = drugs ect) in the song Mope from the album Hooray for Boobies. I've followed the band since I was in Jr High School, and yeah they are the guys that did that Discovery Channel song :P

Hear Mope here

http://www.bloodhoundgang.com/easylistening/bargainbinclassics

Select hfb-high (for broadband) or hfb-low (dial-up) and click on Track #5 to give Mope a listen

If your into twisted-humorous songs give "Lap Dance" a listen while your there.

"So put a quarter in your ass cuz you played yourself"
-Marley Marl & Master Ace, "Symphony Vol. 1"

Sampled in the Beastie Boys' "Hey Fuck You"

Big Papa Husker

American Hi-Fi - Flavor of the Week

"...he's too stoned, Nintendo, i wish that i could make her see, she's just the flavor of the week"

Bloodhound Gang - Mope

Pac Man tune in the middle

"A place where war is just a game on Atari"
-Big Daddy Kane, "I'll Take You There"

The great nerd-rap group Commodore 64 uses drum samples from the C64 game Jetpack in "Straight Outta CompUSA"

Dunno if it's mentioned already but Eminem & Master Ace's "Hellbound" uses Soul Blade music and vocals.

And, maybe the most obscure reference yet, "Pyromaniax" by The Arsonists uses music from the PSX game Tomba.

Ludacris - Diamond in the back

"No more borrowin' from the neighbors, no more haters
No more blowin' Nintendo cartridges"

Mike Jones feat. Slim Thug - Still Tippin'

"Blowing on the endo Game Cube Nintendo
Five percent tint so you can't see up in my window"

Kool G. Rap & DJ Polo - Bad to the Bone

"I run the game like Sega
Go to war like Noreaga, hit like Schawrzaneggar"

Kroogah

To emphasize on a previous entry:

Kid Koala - Fender Bender

Samples a record from 1982 entitled "Conquer the Video Craze", detailing a Pac-Man pattern. Geez, I wish I could run into a record like this at a thrift.

I don't really know what it has to do with video games, but I'd like to add

All Girl Summer Fun Band "Video Game Heart"

It's a very cute little song, and you can download it here:

Can you find the classic video game reference in these lyrics. I was listening to this song and singing along (as I have done for years) and it never occured to me that the reference was here until a few months ago.

Jimmy Buffett -- "Livingston Saturday Night"

You got your tony lama’s on your jeans pressed tight
You take a few tokes make you feel alright
Rockin’ and a rollin’ on a livingston saturday night

Pickup’s washed and you just got paid
With any luck at all you might even get laid
’cause they’re pickin’ and a kickin’ on a livingston saturday night

So won’t you listen to the sound of the hot country band
Boot heels a’ shufflin’ on the dance floor sound
Sing a song, play some pong, shoot a little pool
Hittin’ on the honeys right outta high school
Fifteen may get ya twenty, that’s all right
’cause they’ll be rockin’ and a rollin’ on a livingston saturday night

(alright timmy...)

Whoa listen to the sound of the hot country band
Boot heels a shufflin’ on the dance floor sound
Hum a song, play some pong, eat a deviled egg
Temperature is risin’ better pop another keg
Fifteen may get ya twenty, that’s all right
’cause they’ll be rockin’ and a rollin’ on a livingston saturday night

(where’s that harpoon man...)

Whoa ya gotta listen to the sound of the hot country band
Boot heels a shufflin’ on the dance floor sound
Sing some songs, play some pong, eat a deviled egg
Temperature is risin’ better pop another keg
Fifteen may get ya twenty, that’s all right
’cause they’ll be rockin’ and a rollin’ on a livingston saturday night
Yeah I say they’ll be rockin’ and a rollin’ on a livingston saturday night
One more time they’ll be rockin’ and a rollin’ on a livingston saturday night
