Heh, no worries about that this time. We have access to the entire main exhibition hall, so we can use as much or as little of the 250,000 square feet as we see fit.

We're gonna try to get a couple sponsors to eqiup our lounge. Next week we're beginning our major sponsor attack, we'd like to get Lovesac to bring a bunch of their gear to the show, they have really cool furniture that I think gamers would love to check out and add to their game rooms.

If you get JOLT as a sponsor again....that'd be amazing. Before the past show even came, it was most of what I was drinking. so free Jolt was awesome.

Awesome, put the Guitar Hero in the other room and we'll be fine. My friends and I had a free play table right along the back wall and it got way too crowded with everybody watching the tournament.

I agree...the Guitar Hero stuff needs to be completely separate from the vendor area...it was impossible to get through that area for basically the whole day.

I am planning on being there again. This time I will have a bigger shopping list since last time I didn't find anything that I was looking for. Last time I was #6 in line, do I dare try to be first?

I heard complaints of the being allowed in 1hr early not being honored and organized at the last event, if you had pre-paid. Will this be rectified this time around?

I'm looking to attend for the first time, and it's a trip.

Don't know exactly what you mean. Standard open time was 11:00. Those who had preregistered were lined up starting around 9:30 and we were let in a few minutes after 10:00. We were funneled over to the ticket booth to pick up our badges and in we went. No problem.

Doors opened at like 10:05, everyone who pre-registered got right in, sure there was a bottleneck while we dug out the namebadges, but we're rectifying that by mailing out the VIP pre-reg packages this time around. Every show we learn from our mistakes and try to fix them. No show is without flaws, those who don't learn from them are the ones to avoid. 8*)

I can only hope Justin Wong will be there, but hopefully there aren't any crazy-sign breaking fanboys there to stand behind and praise him.

I definitely plan on going again and intend to have another great time. Also, it's great news to hear that we are in a bigger convention hall because at times it was a little cramped.

I was listening to the Gamebot Live podcast, they were at the last show and had a podcast about it. They mentioned that the guy selling boxed 2600 games in sleeves was there again, and that made me sad that I missed that. I hope he will be there for this one!

It's with a heavy heart that I have to announce we're postponing TooManyGames 7 until next year. I'm having some personal issues which are preventing me from getting any necessary convention work done. My crew has tried convincing me to continue planning the show for this fall, but in all honesty I just don't have it in me right now. I would much rather put on an awesome show next year than a half-assed and forgettable event this fall.

We will make an annoucement about the next event as soon as I have a new date scheduled. I apologize to anyone who already made plans to attend the event and I hope no time or money will be lost as a result of the postponement of the event.

Introducing TMG FANels!

What's a FANel? Well, to put it simply, it's a discussion panel held by the fans! Any TMG attendees or vendors can sign up for a block of time to hold their own discussion panel! You can talk about anything dealing with games, the history of a character, game development, getting into the gaming industry, video game blogging, you can do a skill demonstration, show off your fan videos, anything you want (doesn't include running a tournament tho')!

TMG will supply the tables, the chairs, the space, and a TV or projector, you just bring anything else you need!

Stop by www.toomanygames.com for more info on TMG FANels!

Every Sunday show I've done it's always been "Why don't you do it on Saturday?" from all my vendors. I do a Saturday show and now it's "Why don't you do it on Sunday?" 8*)

Wouldn't GAC or any other reliable persons be willing or able to either run the shop or run a table in your stead?

I would have been able to, but TMG is scheduled the same week as a local anime convention I said I would help out at. Just turned out to be the wrong weekend for the Next Level crew is all. If something does end up working its self out, you will hear of it, I am sure. :wink 2:

Really...I never noticed a problem with Sunday. Especially with the insane attendance last time.

And no, I don't have anyone to watch the shop since they all are going to your show...and as far as having someone else run the table, part of the reason of having one is actually going to the show, so thats not going to happen either.

Whatever, good luck with your show Chuck. :)

I find it ironic how most students in my situation would contemplate whether to stay at college for homecoming or say "nertz to that" and exit to lounge at home and go to the convention just half-an-hour away. I'm glad the choice is obvious in my mind. :-D

Now I'm not really one much for surprises, so I'm going to spill the beans about my panel! Yes, starting at 3:15 p.m. and lasting an hour, I'm going to be hosting a little discussion called "The Bright Side," where I will talk about some of the worst games in the history of forever (E.T., Back to the Future, Shaq Fu, etc.) and do my best to put a positive spin on them. I'll talk about how I think they could have been awesome games if they had done such-and-such, or if there's something redeeming in the game that many overlook.

I'd like to take Friday the 13th for the NES as an example, one of the few games I've ever owned but actually sold. The music is redundant, the hit detection is stodgy, the map layout is confusing, and the difficulty is unforgiving. However, on the bright side, the game did a pretty good job creating an atmosphere of fear and a sense of urgency. This effect is likely amplified for people who are fans of the film series (which, only having seen the first one, I cannot say I am one), but when Jason appears, he moves in pretty quickly. Coupled with the sudden change in music, this can be startling! The same applies when you're in one of the 3D cabin sequences of the game, and when you turn a corner, Jason suddenly appears from out of nowhere and proceeds to beat the stuffing out of you. If everything else about the game didn't blow and some elements were refined, Friday the 13th could have been one of the earliest survival horror titles for the NES.

I'll take suggestions from others at the panel and allow others to offer their own positive outlooks on negatively-criticized games. I haven't played every game out there, so I may have to just go on secondary information. However, I don't want to steal the spotlight, so if there are any bright sides you wish to offer, talk away! It should be fun and humorous, so I hope to have a few takers for my ridiculous idea. This is the first panel I've ever done, and I'm not the best public speaker, but I'll do my damndest. :)

I have 8 cases of original Jolt according to this here invoice. 8*)

There's 50 cases total. We had... 30-ish at the May show, all gone by 12:30, so this MIGHT last past 1.

We're going to be handling the giving out of free drinks a little differently. Of course vendors get drinks throughout the day, but attendees will need to fill out our survey to score some freebies, including Jolt. 8*) We had like 30 or so filled out at the last show, we'd like to get a couple hundred filled out at this show.

Good stuff ;) It's just an anniversary of us dating however. When/if we get married, I just have one thing I want to pick out for the wedding, the cake topper. And it'll be game themed. We'll see how long that idea will last.

Anyways, who all will be there? Anyone have time for a get together or something? I'd like to finally meet Mr. Sotenga.

I'm almost done packing for the show. I'm really going to try to blow out a lot of extra inventory and so I am slashing prices on a lot of stuff considerably.

-HUGE box of imports priced $5 or less
-New Import DS from $10 (Face training brand new $35!)
-90 Different Sega Saturn Imports (lots and lots of shooters)
-Lots of Doujin PC software including most of the TOHO series
-Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Dreamcast $20-$25
-Really rare stuff like Mushihimesama, Sony MSX computer, 64DD w/ games

As a bonus I'm giving away a boxed Neo Geo CD with KOF 95 and Viewpoint as a raffle prize and each individual item purchased from my table gets a ticket for the drawing near the end of the day.
