We've been plugging the hell out of this event on sites we frequent. I'm really excited to be a part of this, and I hope all the Digital Press regulars (aka Sal) can make it.

I'm pretty sure that's for Joe to figure out, and I'm sure it'll be a power-house team.

My my, this is going to be awesome. I just gotta know how the whole thing on how this whole team thing is gonna work out.

Not really a team, more like a team representative. The old Starcade TV show was one on one (and we did one of these in the store before, back in October, I believe). The new version witll be one on one on one. I'm pretty sure the DP representative will be Mike (killersquirel) but we've got a little time to sort that out.

I still haven't made an official announcement on THIS site yet! And there are plenty of other logistic things to work out as well but it's certainly going to be a memorable event!

Ah, I see now. Either way this month is oging to be awesome, and I shall not miss it, hanging out with James and PBC once again, woo hoo!

Joe, please tell me Brawl will be set up after or before the whole Starcade madness! I've been dying to play it with my other NAVA peeps there since the tourney we had in March for Devon!

Got an email from Mr. Angry earlier today so we've got a plan. I'll have the official NAVA announcement out via email and right here either tomorrow or Saturday.

Game ON!

By the way, that's a really cool promo graphic you got there, DR EGG (Chad?)!

Previously at NAVA...
http://www.digitpress.com/images/store

The highlight for the next event will be the attendance of one the store's latest friends, The Angry Video Game Nerd. If you've been hiding under a rock for the past few years and missed his videos they're easy enough to find on YouTube or Cinemassacre (http://cinemassacre.com/AVGN/Nes_Nerd.html).

In addition, we'll have the folks from PBC Productions in attendance, so if you're a fan of "Captain S" or "Little Miss Gamer", clearly this NAVA has it all.

To really cap off this union of various "camps", the store will host its second Starcade-like event. At 6pm, one representative from PBC and one from Digital Press will join The Angry Video Game Nerd in a head-to-head-to-head gaming battle!

Everyone's signing autographs so bring along something you want signed. The game show will begin at 6pm.

NOTE: due to the potentially high attendance there will be a limit to the number of people allowed inside the store at one time. Hopefully it won't be an issue through this long day but be prepared for this!

When: Saturday, June 28th, noon to midnight.
Where: Digital Press Videogames: http://tinyurl.com/yscakm
What happens: Gaming, trading, tournaments, big prizes!
What can I bring: Snacks, soda and beer are always appreciated.

I heard a rumor that DeluxxSoftwareGameConcepts founder/president Les S. Moore will be debuting a previously un-released commerical for their un-released "Casual Gaming" console with "Sensitive Motions" controllers during Starcade.

You all remember Les from the Starcade : The Video Game of the TV Game Show commercial, don't you?

What's that, you don't?

Well, he remembers you!

Pictures like this are one of the reasons why John Hardie doesn't go to NAVA anymore.

Another reason, of course, is hentai, but that has already been discussed.

Not quite. A new one is in order, see Frankie's posts above.

2) Is there an itenery on the stuff to do?

Itinerary, ya mean? Dude, I LEFT corporate America, remember? We don't need no stinking ITINERARIES! We shall wing it. With only the 6pm "Starcade-like Game Show" on the itinerary.

The doors open around noon for the store. That noon to two is the best to browse around the store before everybody gets there. Most folks like to show up between 2-4, that's when things get hopping.

My friend and I usually get there early, but since I'm making two trays of Mac n' Cheese, we'll be getting there later.

There will be no shortage of cameras for sure. While PBC will not officially be filming the event, our good friend and intern, Josh, who some of you have likely met by this time, will be using one of our hand cams to document the tourney and the meet-up. It will be a hell of a time. PBC is looking forward to kicking James' and DP's ass in that tournament. That's right, you heard it here first. ONE WEEK...ER, 4 DAYS FROM TODAY!!!

A Wii will be set up, I think we should do an impromptu Brawl tourney at 3pm or so. The other TV I'm going to leave idle as it will be our Starcade view monitor (if you saw this last time you'll know what I'm talking about). If it's not too crazy in the store I may pop something into that one but I'm getting the impression that we're going to be crazy, all day.

For the first time, I've hired a security guard, as there will need to be a limited number of people in the store at any one time. It's "Studio DP 64" this Saturday!

I don't know how many are "max". As soon as it looks like it's getting crowded I will tap the security guard on the shoulder. At that point, it's wait outside until someone leaves. Note that I've had 40-50 kids in the store at times when we do tournaments, that's still more than the busiest of NAVA gatherings.

Side note: Somehow I made my way into The Angry Video Game Nerd's top friends list!

Many items from last month returning, new additions to the trade/sell box.

1x Core Grafx in Box (extra one finally leaving the house!)

1x Broken PC Engine that I don't feel like repairing.

1x Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 disc only (DC):

Also: Various Dreamcast Games, PCE stuff, GC games, etc.

I'm watching my box like a hawk this time. After GTA4 went missing, I'm taking a couple of extra precautions to prevent what happened at the last NAVA. Hope to see members from the last gathering there.

It doesn't. The save is copy protected. Though there is a homebrew app that allows transferring the save to an SD card. I have my Smash file on an SD card though haven't tried copying it to another Wii yet. I don't know if I'd need to run the homebrew application to do an SD > Wii copy or if I could just copy it like any ordinary save.

Might be a nice, mindless diversion before the brawling begins.

Also looking for an excellent condition Intellivision; it doesn't need the box, but I'd like the controllers and condition of the unit to be excellent, as I'm looking to have one A/V modded.

Thanks!

The 6pm Starcade event will be a lot of fun. The Angry Video Game Nerd, Captain S, and our Digital Press representative "Mike" have chosen their arcade games of choice. I picked two others that will suit all three. One of the prizes is John Hardie's mortal soul which has been sealed inside of a Pokemon figure.

Hopefully our internal body count won't lock anyone out who really wants to see this, but I do believe it will be videotaped. Last fall's game show is on our YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/DigitalPressLLC) page, we'll do the same again if it is taped.

anyhow, i would like to know if i can take public transportation to this event. i am in manhattan. it seems as if i should be able to. is anyone coming from manhattan? maybe we can meet up and go together. if you are coming from a borough (queens, brooklyn, bronx), we can meet up and i can pay half for gas. it will save us both money.

The EPIC Battle Outside

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrijKD93yE4

My friend edited and shot that.

A quick vid I took when Doug showed up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HLv6-vKOz0

Anyways, I must say this was a great NAVA, coldguy I got your Genesis signed and all, the only person that didn't sign it was Doug, I'm sorry man but you can ask Joe, Nick, Frankie, and all who visited the event, he just left without saying goodbye. Nick and I told him that he has to sign something downstairs though, but before we know it he was gone.

It was great meeting more DP regulars, I met Sal when we were playing Brawl, met the awesome guys from PBC again, and my friend was selling a BRAND NEW Xbox 360 for only $150! That's an amazing deal. It was so amazing that Devon Riley from PBC and thier intern Albatross battled out in Brawl just to see who can buy the 360! Devon won but for some odd reason he stated that 'The loser gets the 360'. So Josh (Albatross) managed to get it.My friends and the crew from ScrewAttack.com's 'Life in a Game' were having an epic Team Fortress 2 battle, it went on until the store closed it was awesome.

James and I have met once again and I gotta say that he will be back down again. He left once again with alot of retro shit which is awesome, expect more AVGN !

What I gotta say is the highlight of the event (besides the Starcade) was when Doug, The Nostalgic Critic showed up. I'm a fan of his work and I was in on the secret that he was coming down but I didn't think it was gonna be that epic! As you can tell in the video I posted, it was hilarious. Meeting him was cool though, Nick and I told him that Coldguy was in fact there but couldn't stay, he replied to saying that it was a shame. But what I really don't get is why he didn't say goodbye or even stay longer, he drove all the way down from Chicago and just filmed his video, bought Shaq Fu, talked to some people, then left! Kind of strange if you ask me....

Thanks to all who attended! We actually had so many people from ScrewAttack.com show up, which makes me happy that I'm getting the word of the store up :)

Until next month, I'm Dastardly Dylan and I AM GREAT!
