someone gave me a great idea to start this thread so here we go...

im going to post a link to a homebrew or commercial game that is free to download. no hacks, rips, or illegal downloads only true freeware games.

also im going to list games that i belive are worth playing. my opinion maybe different then some but i assure you they wont be complete worthless crap.

and last i have a very crazy schedule and may not be able to post every day but i will try at least every other day.

yeah genetos is one of my fav projects out there. i wish there was more games to have a kinda history of gaming part of the game play. i was thinking of making a short RPG along those lines.

PRACTICE AND LEARN!
thats basically the old school mentality with games.
you just got to learn the patterns and have alot of patience when it comes to "hardcore" games like these.
maybe i should have a 1-5 difficulty scale on some of these... well if you think these are hard i hate to say its only gonna get worse. :-P

So far I've downloaded Genetos and I Wanna Be the Guy...and they are greatness. Thanks for bringing them to our attention Shivers. Genetos is one of those games where you go "Why didn't I think of that?". It's a great idea. And I love all the nods to past NES classics in I Wanna. Youtube has vids of people with great runs on I Wanna Be the Guy...check em out.

Dwarf Fortress which is an awesome combination of a strategy empire building game and an ascii roguelike. This may be the most complicated game in the history of games. If you can get past the steep learning curve there is no end to what you can do.

I tried playing the Barkley game and gave up after a few minutes. For whatever reason the game doesn't go Fullscreen, instead it's just a small little box and there's no options to adjust the size of the screen, so I gave up due to eye strain.

If you like Sim type game, you should definitely check out Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe (http://www.openttd.org/en/). The game was originally made by Chris Sawyer, the guy who made Roller Coaster Tycoon. Locomotion is actually a spiritual sequel to Transport Tycoon Deluxe.
