someone gave me a great idea to start this thread so here we go...

im going to post a link to a homebrew or commercial game that is free to download. no hacks, rips, or illegal downloads only true freeware games.

also im going to list games that i belive are worth playing. my opinion maybe different then some but i assure you they wont be complete worthless crap.

and last i have a very crazy schedule and may not be able to post every day but i will try at least every other day.

wow that second game in your list is awesome!! what a great concept for a shooter. only bad part is having to play that damned first space invaders level haha. ill definitely have to check the others out now. keep up the awesome thread!

ill be honest i had a hard time finding the download for the first game. i did eventually find it but maybe you wanna run that link through a google translation or something. oh and be prepared to have to breakout moslo or something else along those lines to play this one if you have a fast computer it was running like 10x what id consider playable speed!

yeah genetos is one of my fav projects out there. i wish there was more games to have a kinda history of gaming part of the game play. i was thinking of making a short RPG along those lines.

thats basicly the right run speed.... very manic speed and very much bullet hell.

PRACTICE AND LEARN!
thats basically the old school mentality with games.
you just got to learn the patterns and have alot of patience when it comes to "hardcore" games like these.
maybe i should have a 1-5 difficulty scale on some of these... well if you think these are hard i hate to say its only gonna get worse.

I just gotta say: holy fucking shit this game is so hard. I can only take the frustration in small doses, but it's so addicting!

BTW, it works pretty well in WINE if you're on a Mac.

So far I've downloaded Genetos and I Wanna Be the Guy...and they are greatness. Thanks for bringing them to our attention Shivers. Genetos is one of those games where you go "Why didn't I think of that?". It's a great idea. And I love all the nods to past NES classics in I Wanna. Youtube has vids of people with great runs on I Wanna Be the Guy...check em out.
