Hello everyone,
A couple of weeks ago I bought Super Mario Allstars/ Super Mario World to play on my Retro Duo. I've noticed that I'll save my game, turn it off, turn it back on again and my save will still be there. but after a couple of days the game save will be gone. Is there any way to fix this??

Your save battery is on its way out. I had a similar problem with a Super Metroid cartridge. Just pop the cart open (use a security bit (http://cgi.ebay.ca/4-5mm-SECURITY-BIT-DRIVER-open-GC-N64-SNES_W0QQitemZ270296302917QQihZ017QQcategoryZ20389 QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 )) and replace the CR2032 battery with a newer one. I suggest buying the battery from a watch repair place, I always have bad luck with the dollar store variety.

Hello
Thank you for respondng to my post. Is that what you did to your copy of Super Metroid, and did everything work itself out with that??? Please let me know what results you had with doing that.

Yeah, I dunno what it is with All-Stars cartridges, my battery in that one only lasted about 2 years. It was kinda sad.
I just recently replaced it; as stated above, you just need the right screwdriver end, a CR2032 battery, and a bit of black tape ^_^;
Mine's working fantastically now. My game save is still there (just checked) and it has been for a few weeks now. Just replace the battery, you should be good to go.

Thanks for all the replies back on how to fix the save battery on my Super Mario All stars/Super Mario World. I was wondering if anyone here knows where I can send my game in to get it done because I really don't want to risk messing up my cartridge because I've never done soddering before.

You don't have to solder-- black tape will do it ^__^
