Well, they are loose (with sleeve) but I am very happy nonetheless. I received my very last hucard today (Sinistron) and my USA collection is now complete with a total of 94 hucards (well, 95 if you want to count the CD rom card). Not much to see, but the attached pic shows the entire set on the left side of the card box. Right side is a slowly growing PC Engine collection :)

Congratulations!
You are right that it would look nicer if it had cases, manuals, etc., but it is a complete collection, nonetheless, and it still looks good to me.

Yeah, this is one of the few systems in which the carts (or cards) still look and store very nicely loose. The box was designed for baseball cards, but works equally well for hucards. I have it all alphabetical, so it is as easy as a quick flip to whatever game I feel like playing at the moment :)

USA collection? I always thought TG 16 games were "Turbo Chips" and PC Engine games were HuCards. Congratulations all the same!

They called them "Turbo Chips", yet they say "HuCard" on them :) I guess Hudson enforced the name!
Believe it or not, this is the FIRST game system collection that I have ever completed...that is obtained all of the games for a specific system. I came close with the SNES and Genesis at points, but never went the complete route. I figured that this collection would be much easier since it was only 94 games....I couldn't be more wrong. Some of these games were REALLY hard to find. Also, I was strictly looking for loose hucards to obtain the games I love and to try to save money. Even still some of these games were quite expensive to obtain...even loose.

I don't like anything but complete games, but regardless, you have the entire collection. If I owned the entire collection I guess I wouldn't mind whether they were complete or not.

Yup! It is the most valuable shoebox sized box in the house :) At least I can easily grab it and go if I ever get flooded (been through two floods in the past two years...NOT fun)

Congratulations on an awesome set!
It's funny, I store my Hucards the EXACT same way - in a baseball card box. Most of my Turbo games are complete, but that way I don't have to crack open the flimsy boxes every time I want to play a game. Works well with a TurboExpress too, just grab the express and the cardboard box and you are good to go :) Collecting Turbo stuff is not easy - great job on a great collection.
Now... do you also have the complete Turbo CD and Super CD collection? :) You want to talk about a pain to collect... ugh

Congratulations! :) Packaging may be flashy to look at, but it's the games that count. Don't let anyone or even yourself try to make it out to be less of an accomplishment just because they're loose.
And have fun with the PC Engine collection. :) There are so many awesome games that didn't get released in the U.S that you'll be busy collecting for a LONG time.

Wow, sweet collection. Congrats on completing it. What are you thinking of starting a collection of next.
Well, good question. I did get ahold of a working original TG-CD unit (have it hooked up and am listening to a Cars CD as I type!) and may dabble a bit in TG-CD collecting. I still do not have a Super System Card, so SuperCD collecting will have to wait. CD's WILL be complete however...nothing worse than a loose cd :)
But, I think even before all of that I will grab some PC-Engine titles I really want. All of the Sega titles (already have Shinobi...need Thunderblade, Outrun, Altered Beast, Afterburner) and some other choice PC-Engine games that are English friendly. Actually, there are probably a few hundred I would want :) This will be a slow progression, and I do not think a complete PC-Engine collection is something I would ever want.
Aside all that, I also would like to someday complete my Atari Lynx collection. I have 37 so far I believe, as well a a mint original model that took me forever to obtain in this condition :)

But question, so there are only 94 TG16 games released? If so, I can try for a complete set! :)

Yep. You can print a checklist from the online rarity guide right here at DP (VERY useful)...not to mention it is also extremely useful to have the DP Advance Guide if you do not have it already. Great info contained in that guide. Best guide purchase I have EVER made (next to the classic guide that is!)

It's not everyday a Turbo collection reaches completion especially when a necessary few will cost you an arm and a leg i.e. Magical Chase and Bonk 3. See all those Hucards fit into one shoebox is quite a feat you don't see with any systems up to now and shows how they were ahead of their time. I wonder how many HuCards it takes to make up the same space for an NES/SNES cartridge. Btw, how much did it cost to get all 94 HuCards?
Megasdkirby, TG-16 system and games, IMO, are must have for retrogamer or an experience to have at least once, but completing a Turbo collection is a pricey endeavor. Trust me I know, I've gotten close to one-half for the entire US collection (w/manual, case, card, and box included) and my wallet has easily stretched beyond a grand already. Whatever you set yourself, be prepared to stake your wallet.

Thanks man! How much? I don't even want to know :) I have been collecting for some time now, and as you said certain titles ran some cash. Bonk 3 was $110, Magical Chase was $330. Soldier Blade was $40. And there were some other $30/$40/$50 titles in there (Air Zonk comes to mind). If I were to make a guess it would probably be around $2000 (probably more). Again, I didn't keep track and I didn't buy everything all at once. Any time I saw a good deal I took it, and any time I saw that it was my only chance I took it. Some odd games that are stated as "semi-common" were hard to come by...like "Darkwing Duck". I paid $28 for it after asking around for the game for quite some time. Not a dynamic title really, but a real pain in the ass to find. And I wasn't about to spend the $60 that that cheeseball ebay seller that takes all of his game pics on his kitchen floor was asking! :)
It's funny, because you can invest that kind of cash into other systems and get way more than 94 games. BUT, the TG16 is a system beyond systems in my book. A good majority of the games are quality, and there is an experience to be had here that cannot be had anywhere else. Much like the feeling you get and you *know* you are playing NES or a Sega Master System or a Neo-Geo for example, the Turbografx (or PC-Engine) has it's own unique feel that just cannot be duplicated anywhere else. Bonus is that I *love* shooters, and this system is loaded with them!

Exactly.
Impressive even if it is only 94 games. It's pretty handy that they fit so nicely in a card box like that. It's good for storage and organization at the very least. And yeah, Magical Chase, what an expensive mofo that is. Job well done.

That is very cool dude.
I am curious, have you ever thought of storing them in a baseball card binder?
Will they even fit in one?
Your stuff, but that would be cool.
Congrats on the fullset dude, it looks nice (and compact, which equally rocks)

I did finish the CD end of the collection, however…

That's awesome to complete the collection. Like others have said I'd love to own them all one day but I'm not a big fan of shooters so I wouldn't want to sink the money into them.
I have to say it does look amusing seeing them all lined up in a card box, but it's also a great idea.

I actually went the binder route first awhile back. But, they didn't stay in very well and kept sliding out. I then tried using baseball card sleeves as replacement sleeves for the originals. That equally sucked. The material is just too smooth and the cards slid out of these as well....not to mention they didn't stack so nicely. I finally came to the conclusion that I needed real hucard sleeves. I had some, but not enough to cover the entire collection. I ended up purchasing some of those "new" sleeves being sold on ebay, and they are FANTASTIC. I purchased enough to cover the whole collection, which was somewhat over $100. Crazy to spend that much on sleeves I know, but I did want the loose set to be clean and neat...and this absolutely did the trick.

Ehh, actually no. If there were 700 hucards in there, maybe. But, at only 94 titles it is very easy to get to what you want to play. Storing alphabetically helps too :)

Especially in one of those card collecting boxes. Grab some cheap dividers, and label them "A - E" and throw them in there.

zektor, isn't that Madouou Granzort I see in your collection? That's a SuperGrafx game, no? Will it work on a standard PC Engine or Core Grafx or do you need a SuperGrafx to play it? I have the game, but no SuperGrafx to play it on. Just wondering.

That's really cool. I've always been interested in starting a TG-16 collection. If I did, I would also collect them loose. Then again, I need another system like I need a hole in the head *_*
Just out of curiosity, how much data was a HUcard able to hold? 8Megabits or so?

Congrats zektor! You have a box of gaming bliss there. I didn't appreciate the TG much until I got the system. Even with my limited number of games for the unit (7) it's fun times. Good to know you can save them from any floods, too bad other items may be left behind. Good luck on your next PC Engine purchases too!
