My Secret Santa this year was Koster. He sent me a wonderful package that matched up great on my wish list. I received a pair of complete NES games, Willow and Pipe Dreams. Also, a bunch of complete Saturn games, NBA Jam TE, NBA Jam Extreme, Gex, Area 51, and Revolution X. He also included Silpheed for the PS2 (Gotta love the Working Designs goodness) and an NES games strategy guide. All in all a wonderful gift. Thanks to him and to POG for taking the lead on the project this year. Hope everyone else's Christmas is as happy as mine. Now, I jut have to wait for the rest of the family to wake up.

Mine was Hydr0x and since he's in Germany, he went through Amazon for my gift (better than to be limited by the PAL/NTSC and zoning issues). :)

I got Mass Effect (my first-ever Xbox 360 game! Can't wait to get a console and play it) and Final Fantasy III DS. :D

And after reading that I got my package, he sent me a card. Thanks again, Hydr0x!

Well color me speechless. Mayhem was my SS and I am pretty much overwhelmed by his generousity. My list was as general as possible ("I collect for the PS2, Atari, Playstation, and Xbox. Go nuts."), but I'll let this photo speak for itself:

http://i41.tinypic.com/9lh5x5.jpg

Yes, the upper center game is what it appears to be. Plus the many rare goodies on top of that one. And Mat? I don't own a single game you sent, so it's all new to me. Thank you again everyone! Merry Christmas! (In-laws will be here in 20 minutes, so I gotta go. Take care all!)

Glad you liked it. I'm not a PS2 or GBA guy, so I basically had to look on IGN for the good games :) Feel free to pass that CD along next year. Or keep it if you really like it that much :).

I got Wipeout 64 (N64) and Die Hard Arcade (SAT). I'm quite the Wipeout fan and my collection for these systems are rather thin. Thanks to my SS (I opened my gift yesterday at work, the card is standing on my desk, so I do not have their name in front of me, but you know who you are. Thanks again!!!)

Merry Christmas to all :D

It's great to hear how everyone is liking what they got so far. This was my first Secret Santa and mine was....underwhelming. It was a mix of odd things that a) I didnt ask for or even remotely know of and b) things I specifically asked NOT to get...and I got them :( Looks like I'm the first one with the "bad" gift this year....Oh well, hopefully the person I who I was Secret Santa for enjoys their gifts from me....

I threw out the salmon jerky after one bite. :).

Not a big deal, my goal was to find a couple lame "alaska" items to include so those were it.

On to what I got, Rogmeister was my secret santa and I got a bunch of n64 games and a couple xbox games (as you can see in the picture below many of the n64 game had instructions as well, which is a bonus since they'll be my first with instructions since moving to alaska because I sold all my n64 boxes and manuals before leaving). Thanks a lot.

Anyhow, my SS was a member from OR. I got:

Glad you liked your gifts :) I couldn't get you Legend of Mana, so I figured the postcard book would tide you over until you could pick it up :) Glad you liked the Super Gameboy- I saw you have Space Invaders for the GB, I think it might have some extra features w/ the Super Gameboy.

I had a great SS this year hailing from Cali...but they forgot to include their forum name so it is still a mystery for me. Hopefully they will step forward so I can give them a proper thank you :)

Anyways, on to the loot!

I got two Dreamcast games for my collection (I love the DC):
-Seaman [disc/manual] (been wanting to try this out for so long, now I have an excuse to pick up a mic and try it out!)
-The Grinch [disc/manual] (looking forward to trying this out, haha, very timely)

a Saturn game which essential doubles my Saturn collection (no really):
-Die Hard Arcade [disc/manual] (a popular choice for any DP SS, but awesome because I've been wanting to pick up Dynamite Deka--which is essentially this game!! Great choice!)

And last but not least, two REALLY great SNES games for my growing collection:
-Mega Man X (awesome!!! I LOVE LOVE this game, possibly my favorite of the X series or dare I say all time, but never got around to getting it as it happens with so much of what I want,ha THANK YOU)
-Uniracers (equally as awesome!!! I was totally suprised to see this in my package even though it was on my list, I didn't think anyone would get it for me!!! YESSSS!!!!!)

So whomever my SS was, thank you so much !!!
I had a great first DP SS :) Thanks everyone for making it so much fun!!

I got a great package from Chickenpuppet. I was going to do a before & after picture since they packages were wrapped so nicely, but like a kid again, I just tore them open because I couldn't wait any longer! I got Bust-a-Move 2 Arcade edition for N64, 3 Dreamcast games, 4 Atari games, 2 Genesis games, and a DKC VHS tape. Oh yeah, I also got some miniature lincoln logs that will be perfect for my baby brother. Thanks Chickenpuppet, and I hope you have/had a great day.

-----

I also want to wish a special Merry Chistmas to these guys (assuming they celebrate it), since it seems like they didn't get their packages in time. Don't fret, it will all work out well, hopefully sooner than later!

Merry Christmas: brykasch, c0ldb33r, evan_g, koster, sph1nx!

Glad you liked your games :) I just wanted to add (for the one's reading) that she asked for Mass Effect. I'd never send out a 360 game to someone without the system otherwise ;)

I'm not sure who my SS was but guessing from the address I've got an idea. I got a mixed bag of stuff of which I'm still not sure what to think of ;) The gem of the set was a pristine condition Dialhex for the Japanese GBA, one of the Bit Generations titles. This is certainly a very nice gift and will surely lead to me collecting the bit Generation. So, thanks a lot for that, I'm giving it a try later today :)

The other games (and I'm talking about a load of games here, 7 gb games, 1 gamecube and 2 dreamcast), well, I'm not sure what happened there. It's obvious they were picked, because DC & GC were on my want list, what I don't get is how they could be exactly the games I cannot use for my collection (as these have PAL equivalents) when I specifically mentioned hundreds of games I could use and gave out an owned list (which included PAL version of the two dreamcast games). Maybe you got the lists wrong!?! It's obvious you really tried and send a lot of stuff (hell, shipping set you back 12USD) so it's a real shame I'll end up without them :/ The GB games are similar, they are all JAP (which would be okay) and loose (when I mentioned I'd rather have one boxed than a couple loose). I'll certainly give them a try, although I got a few of those as PAL.

So, overall, I got a nice package (Dialhex alone would count as nice, and I don't want to forget the really nice GC promotional item). It's just a shame that it was somewhat lessened by the "huh, I already got this..." thoughts during unpacking, especially as you could have saved a load of shipping costs if you had just sent the GBA game.

My SS was Vinnysdad, this morning I was so surprised it was like he read my mind! I got a sealed copy of Samurai Musashi Legend for PS2, the funny thing is like 2 weeks ago I was in gamestop picking up some games from their b2g1 sale and I ALMOST picked that one up. I am starting to collect sealed PS2 RPG's now so I was very happy with that one.

I also got a complete copy of Pandemonium for NGage. While I do not own an NGage it is one of the next systems I planned on buying so its a headstart :)

He also got me a copy of Sonic 3D Blast for the PC, and a small handheld Sonic LCD game. Gonna add these to my growing Sonic collection.

X-men and Ren and Stimpy for Gamegear (which is good considering my GG collection is very small)

A sealed DragonQuest8 demo disc, Star Wars EaW demo for PC, and a nice shiney Tomb Raider sticker.

Very pleased with the gifts, thanks a lot!

My Secret Santa was Brykasch and he got me 4 steps closer (I've got a long walk still to go, but every step gets me that much closer) to completing my PlayStation collection.

I got 40 Winks, Austin Powers Pinball, Grudge Warriors and Martian Gothic: Unification. I also got a PlayStation GAP notebook w/paper, pen and slots to store some games. I'm always one for unexpected bonuses!

Thanks for everything Brykasch!

First, I would like to thank Yoshi-M for the wonderful gift.

Well, I finally opened it this morning, and I must say, I am more than happy with it!

I had asked for basically, sega stuff. I mentioned I had all the sega consoles except for a CD unit, and BAM! a Sega CD 2 under my tree. Along with it was a nice little assortment of games:

Saturn:
Baku Baku
Arcade's Greatest Hits

Sega CD:
Stellar Fire
Farenheit (Sega CD/32x)

Genny:
Rocket Knight Adventures (Niiiiiiiice)
LHX Attack Chopper
Cool Spot
and a Game Genie for Genny

Now, I must offer my apologies, but while I was writing the above, I it occurred to me that I had completely neglected to thank my SS from last year, Namzep. I received a kickass mix of Saturn and Genny games last year, but the list eludes me. Sorry I didn't post last year, but better late than never I guess.

BTW, in total, I received three other games for christmas this year. All for the 360, Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Call of Duty: World at War. I think my girlfriend is trying to keep me in the house...

I was his ss. I had no money basically for your list. Everything on there was a lot of money that I didn't have. I gave you a $10 gift card with my last of the money I had, Some DVD cases which I pulled my dvds out for you. Sega CD games I had 3 in the collection I didn't need any more which you got.I thought a video game cd with other songs would be amusing. I gave you things that I thought you would crack a smile at least. I threw a poker chip in there as well from vegas because I wouldn't mind meeting a fellow gamer when I go back to vegas in the coming months. And your list didn't say I don't want anything else does it? No it doesn't. I am sorry for the rant no one is perfect but getting stuff for free should be good. I am sorry I couldn't afford any of the gifts but gifts are gifts for a reason. You get stuff because either they thought of you and were nice about it or they get you something that might make you happy for a little while. I am out of work, money is tight and your list was expensive and obscure. Sorry I have to do this but I am going to post your want list:
My Christmas Want List:

-Any LUNAR-related (the Game Arts/Working Designs series, not the actual moon lol) merchandise...except the Ghaleon Punching Puppet

-Any Sega CD related merchandise

-Dracula Unleashed (DVD Version)

-Fahrenheit (PAL PS2)

-Official Xenogears Guidebook (in great shape if possible)

-A box and manual (in great shape if possible) for Willy Beamish for the Sega CD

-A box and manual (in great shape if possible) for Ninja Warriors for the SNES

-8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo

-DVD Cases (Standard size, not slim....2, 3 or 4 Disc)

-Gift Card (Best Buy, Amazon, Target, etc.)
Done.

I lost my ss guys name but on the other hand I know they were from Canada I think it was BuckyBKATT but I am not sure. Anyways I got from them Raw Damage and Mad Maestro for PS2 and DarkWatch for xbox. I am enjoying Raw Damage and Mad Maestro for PS2 I haven't pulled the xbox yet to play Dark Watch

My Secret Santa was Aussie2B, although when I got the package the her real name was familiar.

I got some Playstation 1 games, Blasto was one I've been looking for a while and it was one I got from her.

I also got Star Ocean EX DVD, and Bill and Ted which was quite random.

Also a few Video Game Collector's Magazine, I had one or two of them from when Rhino was around, and thats why I recognized her name. I saw it in the magazine before.

Anyways thanks for the great gifts, now it does the one thing I've been putting off for a while, reorganizing my playstation 1 stuff.

Glad you liked your package, Nate Nanjo. :) I hope you enjoy all the games. Since you didn't state any genre preference, I tried to represent a wide variety. Although, I guess if you're collecting everything for PlayStation, it doesn't especially matter. :P

My Secret Santa was s1lence, and he hooked me up with an awesome little assortment of modern RPGs. :) I never name anything specific in my wish list, so it's always exciting to open a SS gift as I have NO idea what could be in it. Despite little direction beyond a few preferences, s1lence totally read my mind and got me:

Odin Sphere (PS2)
Enchanted Arms (Xbox 360)
Blue Dragon (Xbox 360)

I've been wanting Odin Sphere for awhile, and I almost picked it up during last summer's GameStop sale but I couldn't find a copy in decent condition (and even then I still regretted not getting one). And I was looking at Blue Dragon at Circuit City just a few days ago while Christmas shopping, but I told myself "Nah, I shouldn't since I have no idea what my Secret Santa got me." Heh, that was a good move. And best of all, this nearly doubles my collection for my just recently acquired 360. So thanks for the great gifts, s1lence, and merry Christmas! :)

Look, I'm not gonna let this topic go off-topic with some rant. I made a list that was diverse. I figured "Maybe somebody had some of this stuff they wanna get rid of" so those account for the detailed items. I did too include low-priced items (such as DVD cases..mind you I asked for 2, 3 or 4 disc ones, not beat up ones from Gamestop) as well as the gift card. I figured, if nothing else, at least I'll get like a $20 gift card to somewhere. A gift is a gift, mostly true....but if you didnt have money as you say then why did you join Secret Santa this year?

I'm done with this. It's great to hear everyone enjoyed this year's Secret Santa. Even though it's late, Merry Christmas again!

Odin Sphere rocks :) Definitely one of the top Atlus releases (of course this is similar to saying "one of the top Lamborghinis", but hey ;) )

Ok, first off Merry Christmas. Lets keep it on topic and if there is an issue with your SS try to keep it in pm's.

Aussie2b, I'm glad you enjoyed your gifts, I wanted to get you something from Tri-Ace but you have just about anything from them so I went with the next best thing.

As for mine, I think it was coldbeer, but I'm not 100% sure.

Sorry I couldn't get more on my want list to make it easier, my database program/site wasn't working right so I went off the top of my head.

Burnout Revenge for the 360
The Viva Pinata Faceplate
and a 1600 point card.

All of which are awesome!!!

Thank you very much.

Sabz5150, glad to see you enjoyed the games I got you. Guess I surprised ya with Wipeout 64 and not knowing you were a fan of the series. ^^

Coreys, actually a few of those things you might have found inexpensively: depending on the Sega CD title you might have found something cheaply, same with the box and manuals. There's a guide for Xenogears?! Now I want.

I never got that one thinking it was yet another console rehash of Wipeout XL. Fortunately the manual showed there to be a bit of a difference :D

The Wipeout series is the initial reason why I bought both the PSX and the PSP. Probably the only racing series outside of Gran Turismo that I actually enjoy. Fast, beautiful and you just can't beat the music.

Alrighty, I want to give a big thanks to my Santa. No name on the box so please whoever your are, let me know. I got some great games. I liked the selection. A NES games, SNES game, and two GameCube games. I absolutely love the GameCube games. They are perfect. They are Ikaruga and Waverace. Both have been a big hit with my son and myself. Two player gaming goodness!

Rog, I was your santa. Hope you enjoy your games. I made sure to stick exactly to your list, with one exception, Disaster Report. I thought that game would be right up your alley.

I also want to thank POG for putting this together. It must have been a huge task. You did a great job, many many thanks. I never would have thought this would be so much fun, but I had a blast. I found myself peeking several times, only to have my 5 year old son tell me to knock it off.

Anyhow, Merry Xmas everyone!

That there is, and it is an impressive entry in the Wipeout series to boot! I could never get into the Gran Turismo series myself. Not that big on racing games, except the few here and there I like. Hope you play the hell out of Die Hard Arcade too!

And just wanted to thanks POG for organizing another wonderful and successful DP Secret Santa this year with little no no issues!!

PDorr3 was my Santa and he had an unusual list request to fulfill this year. Backstory time: Depending on your perspective it was either the easiest or hardest list. I asked for "Something that is easy to get a hold of that you consider underrated.". I didn't care if it was something I already had or if it cost a penny, just as long as the Santa thought it was something everyone should play (the more it flew under the radar, the better). A reason why they recommend this game was an extra bonus.

PDorr3 totally came through. I received a copy of Heart of Darkness for the PS1. Another Eric Chahi fan in the house! I never made it all the way through this game, but now I have an incentive to go for it. The other game was Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer for the DS. What is cool about this one is that I've never heard of it and it probably would have never entered my radar!

Both games also had a paragraph long description of why he picked these two particular titles taped to the front (I can type them up later if anyone is interested). This really made my day and I am super thankful he went through the effort! =)

P.S.: Plus he threw in bonus Super Mario Galaxy cards!

That was me. =) I think I put a little slip of paper with my name in one of the Gamecube games. I tagged you as a shmup fan, hence the two bonus NES/SNES carts. ;P Glad you two are having fun with the games!

Unless I missed it somehow, I'm still waiting to find out who my Secret Santa was. C'mon, time to fess up!

By the way, I weakened and opened my gifts early but kept mum about it. I even played one of the games...and a day later started having my vision problems. That'll teach me.

My homeboy Sothy was my Secret Santa. He totally gave me the hookup. Check this jawsum package:

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2/grandamchandler/IMG_0024.jpg

First off, that black mat in the background is a HUGE mouse pad on how to put together a GLOCK pistol. Most excellent. Other items:

-Assassians Creed (360) - Been wanting this for awhile, just never picked it up
- Phoenix Wright 2 (DS) - See above! Perfect items for my collection.
- Blazing Dragons (Saturn) - Never played this before, I hear it's good!
- Hexen (Saturn, SEALED!!1!)
- Front Mission Alternative Soundtrack
- System Shock 2 (PC) - This is another one I have never got around to picking up or playing, will do this soon!
- NBA Jam 99 - (GBC) - Nice to add to my Game Boy Collection
- Barbie Horse Adventures Blue Ribbon Race (GBA) - Mgriff tells me this is good, I must try it.
- Dig Dug (7800) - Very nice I own no 7800 games!
- Red Faction II Lanyard
- Gradius YuGiOh card - This is funny, I have actually wanted this card for some time now, but never got around to acquiring it. Will be displayed prominently on my shelf.
- Pewter figures (Alien vs Predator? not sure?) - Awesome. Also on the shelf to be displayed
- Awesome comic (in light blue) - crazy mistranslated comic that makes me laugh every time I read it.
- A Pack of Blue Lake Casino playing cards! Will be great for Poker night!

Nice Job Sothy, you are a true friend. I hope your package that you received was remotely as good as the one you put together. A+++.

Well...if I knew the person who gave me gifts opened his early I would've opened mine early but then again my n64 and xbox are at our cabin and not the house we are in most of the time, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Liquid and Corey, I honestly find both of your posts inappropriate and hurtful. Liquid, you could have come up with something a bit more thoughtful, as you DID get the gift card and say you would have been happy with just that. And Corey, you have no call to post in this thread that you had difficulties with the list when you had plenty of opportunities to approach me to ask for more options during the time frame.

Please, let's not muddy this thread up further. Everyone else needs to refrain from taking sides. Thank you.

My SS was Damaniel. He was kind enough to send over four TG-CD titles in excellent condition (three 100% complete with outer cardboard box!):

JB Harold Murder Club
Last Alert
It Came From The Desert (LOVED this on the Amiga!)
Sherlock Holmes

Thank god I kept a DUO around (after selling everything else off) so that I can play these great classics!

Thanks again Shaun, you have put the cherry on my Christmas :)

No prob man, glad you liked the stuff. "Oh but I wonder if you are love me or companion game player!" that comic is great, from the makers of the award winning lcd game "OVERLORD LEAVE WIFE" I always meant to scan it and post it someday.

P.S. that isnt a soundtrack it is a bootleg ps1 game. I love the fact they stole the artwork for the disc from the pc game "wargasm"

My ss was digitalspace

He sent me Hell asylum/prison of the dead double feature on dvd,Alone in the dark t shirt, xbox 360 silicon bracelet,Izuna 2 ds with a cheats list and a manga image of Izuna,Stellar fire sega cd so I was surprised by the surprises

I'm glad to hear. :) I hope you had a good Christmas day, and I also hope you'll enjoy the games and that you'll get some entertainment out of the double feature.

I'm late to the party again. My SS was Nate Nanjo, and he gave me six new additions to my game collection.

First, I opened up three brand new PS2 games:
-The Godfather: The Game - A Godfather game with GTA-style gameplay? I'm definitely looking forward to checking this out.
-Crash: Twinsanity - I have yet to play any of the post-PS1 Crash games, so this will be the first. This gave me another "wish I had access to a digital camera" moment, as I have a Crash Bandicoot figure that would look great standing next to this game.
-Naruto: Ultimate Ninja - This is my first Naruto game, and come to think of it, it's the first fighter I have on the PS2 that isn't a retro compilation or part of one. Definitely appreciated.

After that, I opened up two PlayStation games, and a GBA game. First, the PS1 games:
-Road & Track presents The Need For Speed (complete) - This was the last major Need For Speed game I needed (pun not intended, seriously) on the PlayStation. Looking forward to seeing how this compares to the others.
-Twisted Metal (complete, longbox) - This was a big PlayStation want, and getting the longbox version was especially nice - the only other longbox game in my collection is Destruction Derby. I still remember one particular Saturday night when I was in high school in the late '90s - I stayed up all night with two friends playing PS1 games, and the majority of that time was spent with Twisted Metal. I started a battle with one of them that lasted nearly an hour because we both knew where the rechargers were hidden in that level. We each had a couple of close calls but I finally managed to get the win.

And last but not least, the GBA game, which was also brand new:
-Tales of Phantasia - It's great to have another RPG in the GBA collection, especially a complete one. This should provide some entertainment on the bus and during work breaks.

Nate, here's a big thank you for the card and gifts (one of the kittens on the card looks a lot like my brother's cat when he was that little). I definitely will be able to play all of the games. :D

Also, thank you to POG and everyone else involved in organizing this year's Secret Santa. :)

Yes, it was me. Glad that you liked your games. I'm not much of a Dreamcast girl, so I had to ask for advice from one of my friends -- didn't want to get a crappy game just because you didn't own it already.

Sorry for the cut-up card, as you saw, I originally put your gifts in a package deemed too small for Post Canada's XpressPost label, hence the repackaging.

It was a nice challenge to shop for your gifts. :P Enjoy!

I have no idea who my Secret Santa was as both packages were sent from online stores. The first package was a complete PsiOps for Xbox-very cool! The second package contained three older PC Gamer demo discs which at the moment I can't say what's on them because I'm out of town at the moment. I remember one disc has a demo for Bungie's Myth II. Only one issue that's not my SS's fault but one of the demo CDs looked like the previous owner smoothed tile with it but I think I can buff that out.

All in all, I'm happy. I get to play the game I've been wanting to play for a while and I can get a taste of some old PC games. Thanks Santa!

(on a tangent on PsiOps: first off I happened to be playing the demo to see how much better it was than Star Wars: Force Unleashed. My parents got me Force Unleashed for Wii. Heh)

That was me. Sorry about that on the old cd's. I just grabbed all of my pc gamer discs I had and sent them to you without even looking at the backs of them for scratches. I think that they were in double cd cases, and I was more worried after I sent it that I remembered to pull my porn out of the double discs.

I had some demo discs, but I knew that would not be enough to just send some demo discs, so that is why you also got psi-ops from amazon.

I was s1lence's SS. I'm really glad you liked your package. I had to order the MS points from ebay, get them shipped here, wrap them, then send them to you - it turns out you can't use Canadian MS points (although I'm really glad I found this out ahead of time :))

I still haven't received my SS package - I blame the fact that Canada Post is on strike so everything is delayed. I'm glad the strike didn't delay s1lence's package though.

This was my very first DP SS, and I am very happy.

Norkusa hooked me up nice with an awesome package consisting of 4 complete games, 3of which were off of my wanted list: Clock Tower 1 (PSOne) & 3(PS2), as well as Mister Mosquito(PS2). He even threw in Bushido Blade which was also a wanted game of mine but that I didn't even put on my list! PSYCHIC!! This was all masterfully wrapped in GTA San Andreas wrapping paper, complete with a 4 pack of Pocky's, which have been gone since yesterday (I love those friggin things! Haven't had em in years!).

My only regret is that I feel that I could have beefed up my recipient's package a bit more, especially after getting such an awesome gift from someone I've never met in my entire life. From here on out I'm vowing to give awesome Secret Santa gifts. It was my first time, so hopefully I can be forgiven for that this time. And I have to say to anyone who hasn't participated in this cool event: Do it.

Glad you like everything! I hope you don't mind Clock Tower 3 and Bushido being scratched up like that. I usually wouldn't send out anything in that condition but I tested them before wrapping em up and they both played fine, so I figured it'd be okay.

I was really on the fence about including that Bushido Blade too since it wasn't on your Wanted list, but it looked like you were into fighting games so I threw it in at the last minute. Relieved that you didn't already have it.

It was so hard keeping myself from eating your Pocky though. I just discovered that stuff a few months ago and now I'm addicted!
