Two of the most fun WWF games never made it home:
WWF Superstars
and
WWF Wrestlefest
Technos in their brawler prime IMO
There was far too great a divide between the home console and the power of arcade machines during that time.
I think both still hold up very well in the arena of arcade wrestling games.
If I'm not mistaken, WWF Superstars did get a home release. WWf Superstars was released for the original Gameboy. It even had a sequel called Superstars 2 also on the Gameboy.

2 Underrated Arcade games from atari:
Food Fight and Super Missile Attack
Super Missile Attack isn't an Atari game, it's an unlicensed "upgrade" board made by GCC.
Technically, Food Fight isn't an Atari game either; GCC produced it for Atari (along with Quantum and a vaporware game) as part of the fallout from their SMA board.
Both are fun games though.

The arcade was done by Technos Japan, the Gameboy by Rare and released by LJN. I don't think there was any porting, and are unrelated. Good memory.

:embarrassed: Duh. It was cut off in the higher listing as "Best classic arcade games..." Don't know if its classic or mentioned, but probably the game I've played the most in my life is SEGA's Indy 500 (1995), which never got ported.
First, I agree. Indy's great.
Second, it did get ported.

Ok, so maybe that port shouldn't count...
To the OP, I like where you are going with your arcade aspirations. Having games that were never released at home is truly cool. I would encourage you to look past the "classic" label as there are too many incredible arcade games out there to be limiting yourself by era.
On that note, since Scud Race has already been mentioned, I guess I'll throw Daytona 2 and Spikeout into the mix for consideration.
Of course, these games were released after 1983, so they're probably no good...

Food Fight was released for the Atari 7800.
Super Missile Attack is an unlicensed, slight modification of Missile Command, so no home release would be pertinent.

Well, there's Spikeout: Battle Street (Xbox); was that not based on the arcade game? Compare the arcade version (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9720) to the XBox version (http://games.teamxbox.com/xbox/911/Spikeout-Battle-Street/).

Battle Street was loosely based on Spikeout Final Edition. FE is a completely different game.
I hear that version was pretty crappy too, so my recommendation stands.

Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder
was playing it today on my cabinet and thought about this thread.
EASILY the best Golden Axe in the series IMO (certainly better than the lame Genesis sequels) ... never figured out why it didn't make its way to the Saturn or Dreamcast (not even in Japan!).
Also Spider-Man Arcade ... a bit on the slow side (all the characters look like they're leisurely strolling rather than walking) ... but a very "interesting" (and fun) 4-player brawler with flat, pastel colors that were made to look like the comic book pages of that era.

One of my arcade favorites was M.A.C.H. 3, pretty sure it never got a release.
Also, I believe it was called Gimme a Break? I loved that trackball pool game.
Was there ever a port of CarnEVIL?

If you want to get REALLY "classic" (classic as in REALLY FUCKING OLD *lol*) I don't think Depthcharge ever got a home release. Or Sea Wolf.
Warrior would have been a perfect game for the Vectrex.

There's a version of Depthcharge in the Dreamcast version of Dynamite Cop.

Sea Wolf.
Didn't a homebrewer do a port of Sea Wolf for the 2600? I could swear I played it at a classic game convention at the Atari Age booth.
Space Lords never got a console port as far as I know. I, Robot also never made it to a game console back in the day. Fantasy never made it to a console (although there was a TI prototype of it, which I don't count). An arcade game I used to love called Ajax never got a home port, probably due to the scaling and rotation the machine used that home consoles couldn't reproduce for many years. Bagman might have gotten computer ports, but it didn't hit a game console as far as I know. And being laserdisc based games, we never got home versions of Star Rider (impressed the hell out of me when I was a kid) or Sega's Astron Belt. I wish the Pioneer Laseractive would have had ports for the Sega Mega LD module, but no such luck. Atari's Firefox would have been awesome for the Laseractive, too.
Granny and the Gators and Baby Pac-Man were both pinball/video game hybrids that never made it home. (The one convenience store near me that had a Baby Pac-Man back in the day always had it out of order until they eventually got rid of it, and I've always wanted to play it since.)
There were a whole lot of vector games that never managed to make it to game consoles back then. Black Widow and Space Duel both spring to mind.
Alien 3: The Gun was a cool arcade machine. Avengers by Capcom never got a home port, but I always liked it. Like an overhead Double Dragon. Liberator never came home (I'm not sure about home computer versions, though).
Akka Arrh is asking a bit too much...
I don't count all the releases of games in emulated packs for modern consoles like Midway's Arcade Treasures and such. If they didn't get a home port when the arcade game was originally out, I don't consider it the same thing.

LOST WORLD ARCADE - JP 3 ARCADE
I believe these were released in 97/01 respectively. I was wondering if they were home ported anywhere. Figured the light gun games would have made it home on some system. Im a JP fan and beat these in the arcade. Wish they were home versioned.

Avengers got a pretty 'meh' port to the SNES didn't it?
I'm still dying for Spider-Man on a console, the whole big guys final fight thing that switched to the little guys platforming thing was the coolest as a kid.
And as awful and fun as they were, Time Killers and Bloodstorm never made it did they?

I have an old Spiderman game from roughly 1991 for PC, wonder if that isn't it.
Anyway, has anybody mentioned Cybattler yet? Kind of like a Guerilla War / Super Contra top-down stage / Jackal with freer motion. It's a hybrid of a spaceship shooter / Macross arcade game with eight-way-shooting games. Quite fun although the second boss is bear.

Time Killers was released on the Genesis.

Yeah, Just saw a video with Time Killers on the genny.
Time Killers was stupid-fun the one or two times I played it with a buddy at the old arcade. I actually enjoyed Bloodstorm, hehe.
I think that 91' spider-man pc game was one we had on the school computers back in the day, really pixelated, choppy as hell animation, side scrolling beat-em up on single screens. I want to say there was a Captain America one just like it too.

Ajax did get a port to the X68000, far as I know that was the only port of that one. But can the X68K be considered a home port, as it was a PC, I'd think so at least.
