South Jersey Classic, Luck of the Irish Edition - Saturday, March 7th

Last time at February 2009 South Jersey Classic:

- A SF III: third Strike tournament was held. Many Cinderella stories, one true winner.
- Dragster was played, seeing one of the best times of 5.97 by Monotektea
- More Atari 2600 games were played, some good, some bad.
- A Supergrafx was hooked up and we bathed in its excellence.
- Trade Boxes Galore, saw many items exchange hands, some for very little money.
- An enormous amount of pizza was eaten, as well as some experimental Rice Krispy Treat recipes.

Yes! The videos are up! I'm very excited for this month's SJC. To all those interested, Street Fighter IV will be hooked up in one way or another and we will be playing alot but I'm not sure about a tournament just yet, well not being held by myself at least. I thought my SF3 tournament last month went extremely well and there was much fun had by all watching. I'm not sure if I have any ideas for any other tournaments or games that should be played, but I'll be there like I always am with my trade box and arcade stick ready to trade games and kick your ass in Street Fighter. :-p

I would like to do an informal SF4 tournament. Everyone puts their names in a hat, two names drawn at a time, then the names go back in the hat. Everyone gets a number of chances to play. Then at the end of the night the 4 "best" players are chosen by consensus, and a formal tournament starts from there.

I don't like tournaments where I lose once and sit down.

I'll donate some prizes or a prize to the store for whatever it is.

I'm not doing another Street Fighter flyer if this is the case. I'll do a flyer but it sure as hell is going to be another SF one like last months. Especially after finally trying sf4 i cannot be a part of making a flyer for it. (very dissapointed).

yeah i am shitting on this idea. Having a street fighter tourney after a street fighter tourney is like throwing a monthly kung fu night and playing Enter the Dragon then Chinese Connection.

Sweet, I've been craving an Atari tournament and I hope that its involved in the double secret tournament as well. When it comes to Dragster, I'm not that great but I'm curious to see if Jeremy can recreate the 5.97 he got at last months SJC.

I really like Kid Ice's tournament rules for SFIV. I will definitely participate in that.

As for Dragster, I'm not quite sure how that will work yet, maybe something similar. If you are familiar with the game, I am up for suggestions on how to do a somewhat-bracket-style competition. On top of that will definitely be a separate "High Score" (low time) contest that will run throughout the day. Best time by the end of the night wins something.

I guess I need to locate some prizes.

Well, I will be bringing my PS3 with Street Fighter IV with all of the characters unlocked. I will also be bringing my Tekken 5 arcade stick with a PS2 to PS3 controller adapter so if anyone wishes to use a PS2 gamepad or regular controller they can. Also, I know that John Hes (refan) will be bringing his Street Fighter IV MadCatz Tournament FightStick and I'll tell him to bring his PS2 adapter and PS2 gamepad, so we'll have at least 2 arcade sticks and the option to use any PS2 controller.
